Looks good, feels lousy - My husband bought a pair of Florsheim comfortech shoes about two years ago. They wore like iron and were very comfortable. They finally wore out and we ordered this pair to replace them. While they did fit as per length and width, they were very uncomfortable as there is almost no padding in the shoe anywhere except at the heel. I compared them to his old shoes and you can see they are now made very cheaply with a thin fabric lining. The old pair had a full padded lining stitched into the shoe. It's sad to see a brand like Florsheim joining all the other companies cheapening their product.

Shoes look OLD after one year - I got this shoe as a gift for my Dad a year ago. After only about 10 uses, the leather started to look very worn in certain spots. They look like they have been through 5 years of constant wear – which they have not! Not sure if Florsheim's quality has diminished overall or if it was just this particular model – but it is terrible!!! And these were not cheap shoes!

Not the best shoe I've ever had... Maybe it's because I am used to better fitting shoes and more casual leather shoes, but these shoes were a waste of money by comparison to other shoes I've owned. They cost the same as shoes that feel 10 times better. They don't have much cushioning, the fabric on the insoles started coming loose within a few weeks of wearing them, and the color comes off easily. I had to get down on a carpeted floor to briefly do something with a PC and now have little color on the tips of the shoes. These aren't the worst shoes I've owned I'm sure, but certainly not one of the best. I give them a 2 because of that.

I am on my feet all day long. I have had two pair of the 17080-05 style shoe. They fit and feel great and I try to take good care of them. My big problem with the shoe is that the side splits out by the sole (twice). I like these shoes but I do not think I can get another pair.

New sole design - A narrow ramp exist on the sole of the shoe between the heel that blends into the flat front part of the shoe. If you some how step on a curb or stair on angle the shoe will roll. Make sure you understand the odd shape of the sole.

Tolerable - Not very comfortable, but not painful enough to spend another $100.00 on a replacement pair. They also make a very loud and noticable squeak on anything other than heavy carpet, so be prepared to be the center of attention while walking through stores. Maybe I just got a bad pair, but I won't be giving Florsheim a second chance.

Not very comfortable when there is a big hump that pushes into the arch of your foot.

Extremely disappointing. The uppers seem to be glued directly to the sole without any intervening layer of stitching. "Comfortech" sounds good, but it basically means that these are cheaply made and cannot be resoled unless you have them virtually reconstructed. Which is not worth doing because the leather isn't of such great quality either. I have bought countless rubber-soled shoes from other companies that are just as comfortable and can be easily resoled by online and local services. I liked the way these shoes looked and felt when brand new, but I will not be buying another pair.

This was my third pair. The two previous pair were great and each lasted for years, that's why I got a third. From day one this latest pair was terrible. They were extremely, embarrassingly squeaky and began to fall apart within a month. I wore them about 8 hours per day for maybe 5 months before I had to set them aside--and this was long overdue. My job is mostly sitting at a desk, so the shoes weren't mistreated or misused. I'm not sure what happened to the product I once loved, but I'm not going to risk buying another pair.

This are stylish, comfortable shoes but cannot be easily resoled. When I wrote to Florsheim about this, they responded "We always suggest buying leather bottom shoes that can be resoled." Thanks alot Florsheim. I note that Allen-Edmonds, Rockport and other companies do have factory resoling or factory-authorized resoling of rubber soled shoes, so Florsheim needs to get its act together. Will not buy again.

I was first attracted to this pair of shoes by the look. In the beginning, I was very pleased with the pair that I bought. The fit was perfect. The shoes were light, and comfortable. They were a delight to wear and walk with. They certainly felt like the perfect pair for what I often do: traveling around the country and walking a lot around agricultural fields. But then, my delight with my shoes was short-lived. Before long, the shoes began to deform. Then, the SOLES DELAMINATED from the body of the shoes! THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN WITH FLORSHEIM SHOES!!! Fortunately, I detected the defect while still in my hotel room. I was able to get out of my predicament with a quick temporary repair using contact cement bought from a nearby store. But what if I was out in the fields when the soles delaminated? It would have been a disaster. What should I do with the shoes now? The soles look like they still have many miles of walking left on them. But I cannot trust the soles to stay on with my contact cement repair. What if the shoes come apart again when I am out in the boondocks? The shoes have the following markings inside:20881 9 38 LJ
