I've worn this model shoe since the mid 1990s. This pair seems longer; my heels slide up and out of the shoe with each step. It's like they made the shoe a half inch longer!

Have worn this style for years, new ones fit tight in the toes even after almost a year of breaking in.

Had to return these shoes. Florsheim has stopped making a narrow width in size 14 casual shoes. I used to buy 2 or 3 pairs of casual/business casual shoes every year from them. I can no longer do so.

Good conservative shoe. Wear to white-collar work. This "oxblood" is more brown than reddish brown. I would have preferred more red. The shoestrings are the kind that will not stay tied, even if you double knot them. So expect to spend a couple of bucks on different shoestrings. Have only worn them twice, so cannot report on durability.

I've been walking on Florsheim Noble for the last 10+ years. I am very disappointed with the latest pair. It is not the same. The laces are now skinny and you're forced to bend your ass over after every walk. They come off too easily. After a month of wearing, the shoes are still stiff and hard. Sadly, I'm going to have to start looking for a new brand.

I had a pair of Florsheim shoes similar to these, but they were NUBUCK (Model # 20886, CORBY). You no longer have them and the model has been discontinued. I do not like the shiny leather and I liked that I did not need to polish them.

A real disappointment - I've given up on these shoes because one started to squeak after a year or so and kept getting worse. It's gotten so bad that I can't really wear them. Otherwise, they've been great. They're a great combination of comfort and good looks, which is hard to find in a dressy shoe. I've worn them quite a bit and they're not showing any serious signs of wear. There's lots of life left on the soles. So, it's really disappointing - the kind of thing you might expect from shoes that cast a lot less.

Good, but... This is one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. However, the quality of the assembly of the shoe was absolutely terrible. The insole in both shoes pulled out when I took my shoes off the first time I wore them. The felt covering on the rubber insoles also came loose. I had to superglue the felt back on (what a chore) and then superglue the insole back into the base shoe. I could have returned them, but the fix was easier than the hassle of returning the shoe. I have never seen such bad quality from Florsheim.

Be prepared to buy some shoe polish... Overall, this shoe is quite comfortable. However, in a very short period of time, less than a month, the paint on the bottom part of the shoe will start to peel. You'll probably end up sanding the rest of the paint off to maintain a smooth appearance. Then you'll need to get some black shoe polish to re-paint it. Additionally, there is a flaw in the sole of the shoe which causes them to start squeaking after about a month. Two or more months, and the squeaking gets louder and louder. I don't know what it it, but it's really annoying. If you can deal with the squeaking and applying a good polish, the shoes will suffice.

Florsheim Noble - I never thought I'd be wearing Florsheims, but their Comfortech line is obviously designed to compete with shoes from Clark's, Rockport, Ecco, etc. These are great looking shoes, with great comfort. They are dressy enough to wear with a business suit, and casual enough to wear with chinos or jeans.
I'd also recommend:
Rockport, Ecco, Clarks

Good looking design, but shoes are very heavy for my preference. The soul of the shoe is rigid, slippery and adds a lot of weight.

these shoes from Florsheim are gr8, the last pair I had disappeared after only two maybe three uses. Whoever got them I hope they enjoyed them as much as I would've. Yes, I just bought a pair again after 17 years, it is very sad that I have not seen stores around for a long time. I would've bought a lot sooner but with no stores how, you buy on line, you pay with credit card with enormous risk of identity theft, you're out of money with nothing to show. When shipment arrives two weeks later, since there is no store you could not try on for fit, could not get width if needed, couldn't get what you liked cuz was not in stock, then you have to ship back and start over again. If there was a store they could've ordered what you wanted. Florsheim plz respond maybe something gr8 can come out of this. TY chuk

I always have 3 in use and one new pair in the closet....when I finally tried the new pair (throwing out the oldest pair), but find that the right shoe is too tight. I put up with it for a few weeks and then decided to buy a wide (versus the M, I've been buying). While the new ones are really comfortable, they are really too loose. My new policy is to try on the new pair before putting them up for stand-by....however, WHY would I need to send back any shoe....so again I ask "Why is the right side shoe too tight?"

The shoes are nice, but the large groove built into the sole ends up getting filled with small rocks and debris. The rocks stuck in there scratch up the floor in the house and makes a ton of noise. We have a gravel driveway and rocks are constantly coming in the house with me. Also, the rocks stuck in there have enlarged the crevice and are tearing the shoes apart. Please fix this design Florsheim.

I really want to like these shoes, they have so much going for them! But ultimately, it’s the fit and function that determine how good a shoe is, and this one, unfortunately, just doesn’t work well with my feet. The good: These are high quality footwear. The seams are constructed perfectly, the materials are top notch and the aesthetics timeless. The craftsmanship is just beautiful and they are comfortable right out of the box. They seem to fit a vast majority of wearers quite nicely. The not so good: The design of the shoe includes a support piece that my foot is not used to, which does not work well with my gait and causes pain. On a regular dress shoe, the heel and the foot pad sections are separated with an open space. For example, wearing regular shoes, when standing up, it is possible to slide a pencil under your shoe on one side and have it come out the other side. The Nobles do not allow that. The area which is typically open is covered by a two inch wedge that connects the heel to the foot pad. This adds rigidity to the shoe, since the bottom of the shoe is always connected to the ground. Look at the 3rd picture from the top and see the lighter colored middle section of the bottom of the shoe. It’s hard to tell from the picture, but that entire section makes contact with the ground when you walk. If you look at the 4th picture, zoom in on the heel portion and you’ll see it a little bit better. It would be nice to have a ground-level side view so this feature can be better appreciated. For many (or most, based on the reviews), this function adds comfort. For me, however, this creates a pressure point where none exists in all my other dress shoes. Combine that with my 10-2 feet (the natural position of my feet point out a little bit), and with my gait that wears the outside back portion of my shoes quicker, that pressure point starts to become noticeable, then warm, then by the end of the day painful. If I wear the shoes back to back days, by the third day the foot hurts so much I can barely walk. Clearly my experience is the rare exception. But if your feet at all sound like mine vis a vis position and gait, you may want to pay special attention to the fit, and wear them in your home carpet a little longer than usual to see if that pressure point starts showing up. If it does, you may consider a different shoe.

Bought these shoes based on the idea that they provided great support if you're wearing them often. I'm on my feet all day for my job and was very disappointed in the fit of the shoes. They grip very tightly around the throat line and they did not loosen up. Soft leather and great look though. Will unfortunately have to sell or donate to Goodwill since I can't wear the shoes comfortably.

The rim at the rear is not curved inward, allowing the heel to slip part way out of the shoe.
