I have been wearing 7-1/2 D sized Penny Loafers for the past 20-30 years the last pairs that I have ordered have all been inconsistent sizing one was made in China, one pair was made in India and one in Vietnamthe widths have varied and even the length has varied they have been uncomfortable to wear.
Quality control will be forcing me on my next order to find a local store where I can try on a penny loafer of any brand that fits me properly.

Bought a E width online and when I got them they looked too narrow and were. I couldn't get my foot in when I tried them on. Exchanged them for a EEE expecting they might be too big. Got those and they looked narrower than the E. Again I couldn't get my foot in. When I compared the width of another pair of Florsheim shoes (10.5 D) I own, the EEE were 1/2 inch narrower. Very disappointing because I liked the style and they appeared to be very well made.

I could not get the right foot into the right shoe using a shoe horn. I wrote to Florsheim asking for an exchange for a size 7 instead of a size 6.5

I have been wearing Florsheim for the last 70 years. Up until this last order (which I have returned) they have been of fine quality. this last pair of loafers that I have ordered is a disgrace. The workmanship is way under par, The quality of the leather is like painted cardboard, And the shoe does not fit. Up until 10 years ago I wore size nine narrow. I was then required to wear orthotics, whereupon I needed size 9.5 to accommodate the added filling of the shoe. That worked fine until this last order. The shoe was way too tight. I do not know, after all these years, where I am going to go to find the fine quality of shoe you used to make. As in so many things today it seems another tradition is tanking. I am sad.

the
The shoes are are extremely stiff, narrow, tight and very, very uncomfortable. i made the mistake of wearing them to a wedding and walked in them the entire weekend to the point where they are probable non- returnable. I wish i could say something positive but i honestly cannot. i have purchased Florsheim shoes previously and never had this problem. i doubt i would buy from Florsheim gain.

I made a mistake when I ordered this shoe. The last pair I purchased the sole separated from the upper half of the shoe when the string holding it on broke. I had to glue the shoe back together. I am not sending the new shoes back. I hope they are better but they appear to be held together with a piece of string also.

I use the shoes daily. I'm disappointed in them. They are uncomfortable and hot. My feet sweat and hurt my ankles. The leather is not very high quality and the interior feels cheep.

Great looking shoe but the size runs very small. The wide version was so narrow, I could only barely put the shoes on so I sent them back.

The shoe didn't really last too long for me and became unusable. One day, it was rain outside and I had my pair on... it soaked my socks since it is stitching underneath... it doesn't do too well. Black color is gone on top edges of the shoe and around heal. Clicking sound won't go away. Took it to a shoe repair store and he could not figure it out why. Can't wear the shoe anymoe and will be in the trash

The shoes arrived in a plain card board box. No problems there. The shoe box inside was beat up pretty good. The stitching on the bottom of the shoes was coming out. A quick quality assurance glance would have easily found this. Sent back asking for a replacement. Will give it one more try.

I have been buying Florsheim shoes for 40+ years and I have never before had a problem, but these shoes arrived with a blemish--a rip in the leather. I have returned the shoes--the process is admirably simple and all of my contacts with Lloyd J have been completely satisfactory--and I expect to receive a replacement pair at some point. Everybody makes mistakes and I will continue to buy your shoes, but this pair was a lemon.

Despite being 3E in width, my shoe inserts won't fit inside the shoe. My orthotics fit other Florsheim shoes, but not these.

SHOES ARE MUCH LARGER THAN SIMILAR SIZE IN BETTER BRANDS. FINISH LOOKS AND WEARS LIKE HIGH GLOSS PAINT, NOT LIKE DYED AND POLISHED LEATHER. THE ABSOLUTELY WORST QUALITY SHOE I'VE OWNED SINCE 1954-55 WHEN I WAS BUYING SHOES FROM SEARS & ROEBUCK CATALOG BUT EVEN THOSE WERE BETTER THAN THIS GARBAGE. RATHER THAN SPEND MONEY ON THIS BRAND ( FORMERLY A QUALITY BRAND) GO BAREFOOT. YOU'LL BE BETTER OFF.
I'd also recommend:
ANY BRAND HAS TO BE BETTER THAN THIS

I have worn Florsheim Berkley shoes for several decades and have always found them to be comfortable and good looking. Unfortunately, the last pair of Berkleys that I purchased in September do not measure up.
The fit is fine but the shoes are dull, not polished and shiny like all the previous Berkleys that I have purchased. Whats more, I am unable to bring out a shine even using shoe polish, a brush and a buffing cloth. The surface of the shoes over the toes is dull, not smooth, and refuses to shine.
Unknown if the country of manufacture matters but the dull Berkleys in question were made in Vietnam. My previous shiny Berkleys were made in India.
Hopefully this is a one off problem but I will seriously reconsider my next shoe purchase.

These shoes were exactly what I wanted and looked great until they started to fall apart after 3 months. Sole began to separate on both shoes. This is the second pair of Florsheim shoes that were poorly constructed. Will never buy this brand again. Thank goodness I bought from Zappos so I could return with no problem.
