Florsheim still makes a very nicely crafted penny loafer. Not many shoe manufacturers make a penny loafer today. I bought my first Florsheim Penny Loafers, a pair of black and a pair of burgundy around 18 years ago, I finally had to purchase a new pair of black pennies, the Berkley, and I they are excellent. Well constructed, classy looking and comfortable. I still have the Florsheim Burgundy Imperials from 18 years ago. Anyone looking for a classic penny loafer should consider these.

Classic look and feel Good quality

The Florsheim Berkley is my every day causal dress shoe. I wore Dexter beef roll penny loafers for years. They were long wearing and great looking. And a new pair felt as good as a pair that was well past broken in. The quality was consistent as was the size and the price was fair. It was my favorite shoe. Unfortunately, I have not seen them for years. Over the years I've wore Nunn Bush penny loafers, but the sole was not leather and this made the shoe heavy and hot. Then I came across the Johnston & Murphy penny loafer (quite by accident), but it just did not cut it. Nice shoe, but not a Dexter. However, it was better than no penny loafer at all. Then I moved onto Bass Weejuns. Another nice shoe. But, again, no Dexter. Finally, I stumbled onto the Florsheim Berkley. They are the closest to the Dexter I fondly recall. I like the cordovan color. I can wear it with black, blue, gray, or any other color slack. I like the all leather construction and the heels hold up very well. I wear them to work daily. And I just purchased a second pair to have in the wings, when this pair wears out. To date, the quality is good and the sizing has been consistent. I think I may have finally found the penny loafer that is as good or better than the Dexter from years gone by.

The Classic "penny loafer" with the little 'beef rolls'. Fits like it was sewn to your foot. Smooth lining so foot keeps cool no matter how hot. Looks great and comfortable even sockless. Will dress up or go casual. Wears like iron. Sooo comfy, yet stylish. Keep making this one. Looked good 50 years ago, and will look good in 50 years! LoveFlorsheims!!
