Disintegrating Soles. I purchased a pair of Ecco Tracks (made in Portugal) for $200 and I would agree with the other reviewers that they are a VERY comfortable hiking boot. Unfortunately, like some of the reviewers, the soles disintegrated prematurely with chunks coming off at a time to the point that they were no longer usable. I was thinking of a re-purchase, but after reading other reviews with similar complaints, I'll try another brand. Thank you Zappos.com for providing this product review platform.

Somewhat dissatisfied. 'Owned two pairs of Ecco Track, both succumbed to sole and heal wear-out prior to upper demonstrating any appreciable wear. As with a number of reviewers, though no product should be so defective, chunks of rubber disintegrating from the undersurfaces of a product in the upper-echelon of foot wear price ranges, has given me consideration to thoughts of a re-purchase.

Comfortable but they fall apart. I got these as a gift a few years ago. Last week I had to throw them away because the bottom of the shoes were breaking up and coming apart. I have other shoes for which I spent a lot less and have lasted a lot longer. They were the most comfortable shoes I ever had, but when chunks of the soles started falling off, it was embarassing. Don't expect them to last.

Retiring these shoes after five-plus years of daily use. Most durable pair of shoes I've ever had! Would definitely purchase again if they came in wide, but first few months of wear was uncomfortable across the top.

My 3rd pair - best versatile shoe out there . Can hike, go to church, or wear to work. Great looks, quality, comfort, and durability. I'll continue to replace when they finally give up the ghost!

Super comfortable. Nonslip soles are stable on wet metal surfaces. Very happy with these. Exceptional quality. Thoroughly recommend.

I've loved my ECCO Track II Low shoes since they arrived. Slipped on like a glove. The style is terrific with jeans and they feel great to walk in - I don't even know they're on. They have a non-slip sole and are waterproof. These will be favorites of mine, no doubt. I got the Black color, extremely pleased. I've never lost with ECCO.

My third pair of these shoes in about 5 years. It’s not that I wear them out, but I choose to wear this shoe so often it eventually looks worn and I get a new pair.

I felt they were beautiful and I loved them for nearly 3 years. However, I wore them almost daily for 2 years, then, because of a fall, did not wear them for almost a year. When I put them back on, I started seeing black droppings on the floor. Within a few hours BOTH soles fell off - fell off - of the shoes and left a mess in my entire house. I'll pay half the cost of these shoes just to be my house cleaned again.

The fit was perfect for a size 46 EU - I'm normally a size 12 in Nikes. Occasionally ECCO's have run a bit large at size 46. This time, perfect. The width is perfect. The look/feel is exactly as shown on the web site. My previous similar pair of ECCO's lasted 10 years - I eventually wore a hole in the tread near the heal, although the uppers were still in great shape. I occasionally applied leather conditioner. These shoes may cost 2-3x other brands, but they last 4-5x longer! Don't hesitate to purchase ECCO shoes from Zappos.

Very comfortable from the start, although a little stiff, but I've worn them every other day over the last 10 days, and they fit like a glove. Good support and good traction.

Quite simply, the Ecco Track II shoes are the best I've ever owned. I've bought and completely worn out several pairs over maybe 20 years. I've trudged through snow, hiked the Waimea Canyon in Kauai, and worked in the yard. I've worn them walking all over cities in Europe. I've taken them fishing in Canada. I've done an overnight trek in the Himalayan foothills in Nepal with them. I've rearranged burning campfire logs with them (actually, I don't recommend that one). The Track II is instantly comfortable, light, amazingly sturdy, completely waterproof. It's just a badass shoe. Whenever I completely wear out a pair, after an unreasonably long period of time and an unfair amount of abuse, I just quietly retire them and order new ones.

I received these last week and wore them for three straight days: One at the office, one around town and one in the mountains. The size 42 fit just right. Length was good, ball of foot hit the wide part of the forefoot and the width felt not too tight or too loose - just right I normally wear an 8.5 in a street shoe. Size 42 is supposed to fit US size 8 - 8.5. I would say closer to 8.5. I like the stability , traction and overall feel of these shoes. I prefer their style over the Mephisto Match which I think is similar. They are not a dress shoe but work well with a casual look like with chinos and jeans. They should work well for work, travel, walking and dirt bagging..

Hubby loves them - purchased due to Rick Steves recommendation for excellent travel shoes. Great for walking, look dressier than sneakers, and can be worn with shorts, jeans, khakis...pretty much anything less than formalwear.

Always great shoes. Purchased first pair over 15 years ago. We then bought them a couple more times over the next several years. Decided to take a hiatus to try other shoes... Unfortunately, other shoes do not hold up as well or as long, or are as comfortable. It is what it is. Back again and he’s happy!

My husband, who used to try on only one shoe in the shoe store (!), has had problems with his feet over the last ten years (big surprise). He's been wearing orthotics which helped and finally Keens but typically would buy a half size too small. I ordered these Eccos and a pair of Rockports for him a half size up and he loves the Eccos! (The Rockports were too small for him to put on.) He took a few walks without the orthotics and had no problems but was concerned that he wasn't wearing them so he tried walking with them in. Big mistake. They didn't fit in the shoe properly. But the real point is that he didn't need them; the Eccos fit properly. He has now taken about a dozen walks, roughly 3-5 miles each, and still loves these shoes. We both wish he had tried them years ago. Well worth the price (especially considering he only wears 2-3 pairs of shoes plus bike shoes while I have...well, never mind how many I have!). He's set for our upcoming month long trip in Spain and Italy next month. I can't imagine him buy anything other than Eccos from now on.

According to Rick Steves' blog, this is his travel shoe. Bought it as gift for husband since our kids will be graduating this year. Hoping to get a lot of wear out of them. Hasn't worn them for an extended time yet, but he says he likes them.

I am a fan of ECCO shoes and have owned multiple pairs of ECCO dress shoes over the years. Always comfortable, always a great fit... With a multi-week vacation to Europe coming up that will include a great deal of walking on paved and unpaved surfaces, as well as a variety of surface and weather conditions, I was looking for something water resistant, durable, comfortable and not too "hiking boot" like in appearance. The ECCO Track II seemed to fit the bill. Well... I am not surprised and am very pleased with the Track II shoes just received. Very comfortable and supportive, and I can easily get away with wearing them in a variety of circumstances and venues. All didn't start out that way tough.... After ordering them, the first pair I received were slightly damaged and had to be returned. But even with that, the Zappos customer support was nothing short of astonishing for me. When I received the first shipment at the office, I was excited to try out the shoes the moment I got home. When I opened the box later, and started lacing up the left shoe, one of the clasps that hold the shoestring to the shoe immediately became unattached from the small leather strap that holds it in place as soon as I put the shoestring through it. Initially I thought, well that s**ks.... It was early evening and I immediately contacted Zappos by telephone. The rep could not have been more understanding and helpful! We talked about my options, and because I wanted the shoes, she quickly set it up so that I would get immediate credit on a gift card to immediately apply to another pair. We talked about the return, and then she told me she handled the order for the replacement pair and that they would be shipped the next day. I was totally pleased with that. Come the next day... the replacement pair ARRIVED! .... In less than 18 hours, I had my replacement shoes in hand!! THAT is quality service. Thank you ZAPPOS Rep !! You ROCK!!

I find the Ecco Track II to be a very sturdy and comfortable shoe. I find the black model is very utilitarian. I particularly like the Polyurethane dual durometer outsole. The product is very good if you are on your feet for extended periods of time. I have had numerous pairs. While the latest production is impeccable from a stitches per inch, and upper quality, and workmanship, I always long for the original pairs which were made in Denmark. They had a much more tactile feel, and one could easily see the imperfections in the uppers. The outsoles originally had the same durometer as a super ball. They were so comfortable. The outsoles are clearly much firmer now. They wear very well over time. i would say get them.
