Vans shoes are only for show. Vans Authentic Skate Shoes are made with rubber and canvas style cloth. The laces are thin but pretty strong. The Vans logo is placed in two places on the shoe, one by the laces and one on the back of the shoe. The logo by the laces is a tag and tends to shred after a while and the logo on the back of the shoe is made of rubber and glued to the heel part of the shoe, it tends to fade or fall off of the shoe. The sole of the shoe is thin, with a little more cushion than a piece of cardboard. Compared to Converse all vans really are is cardboard that is $50. Converse have actual cushion on their soles and they last much longer than vans. Converse have lasted more than two years, but have been needed to be washed a few times. Vans get about a year of use if you ignore the holes in the material part if the shoe. Vans are really good if you want a fashionable sneaker, they look cool and will look nice for the most part if you take the utter most care of your pair of Vans. Fashion wise I recommend the shoe as they compliment outfits well, but if you are looking for comfort Vans may not be for you.

I was sent the wrong color by zappos. It I did end up keeping them to avoid any hassle. Love the shoes just wrong color

Shoes look and feel good, although they have poor arch support. I bought 2 pairs but they are little durable. Given that they were cheap when I bought them I was not too bothered

There isn't a lot to say about these shoes. They are vans, the most basic shoe around which I knew before buying. If you are looking for support go with a different brand. If you are looking for basic black shoes then look no further. I wear an 8.5 or 9 and the 9 was perfect. The back rubbed a little but that was expected for right out of the box. I am sure it will get "softer" after a few times wearing the shoe.

These kicks look and feel great but started coming apart between the rubber bottom and canvas after wearing them to and from my office job for 2wks. I don't know how these are considered active wear or sk8er kicks if they deteriorate under mild conditions.

These run big! I am a pretty solid women's 9 and I got the 7½ men's and they are big. Unfortunately I had to wear them to find that out and now I cannot return them.

Looks like good quality and a very cute. Ran slightly big. Then I found similar Keds that fit better for $20 cheaper at TJMaxx. So these are going back.

Love the style but these shoes are too wide in the heel area...although my size my heel slips up when I walk.

I like the shoe. It's a good fit. But there are a couple of problems. There's really not much arch support. And after a couple of months there's still a strong rubber smell that makes you think you're inside a Goodyear factory.

I've had these shoes for about 3 months now and would say that overall, it's a decent shoe. From a style perspective, these shoes were exactly what I thought I was ordering. The color was exact and about as low top as I thought it would be. I have no complaints in this area. From a comfort point of view, these are not uncomfortable shoes, however I have some complaints. The sole, which looks pretty thick relative to the rest of the shoe, isn't. I can feel every pebble or rock I step on. It gets kinda aggravating. Also, I don't know if it's because of the shoe size or just the design, but the shoe is a little loose in the heel. When I take a step the back of my heel rubs against the inside of the shoe. It feels like I'm starting to get brush burns. I have a mixed review concerning the durability/quality of the shoe. On one hand, the shoe is very stain resistant. I have two young children and all manner of things have been spilled on the shoe. I've quickly rinsed the shoe off and have yet to get a stain. On the other hand, the portion of the shoe where the toe bends is starting to separate from the sole. Overall, it's a decent shoe. I ordered two other shoes at the same time and these are by far the most stylish, but by far the least comfortable.

The color in the picture is misleading. It looks to be an off white even though it says true white. I ordered this she because is looked to be an off white color. It is pure white. Nice shoe but wrong color, keeping the second sneaker I ordered. Awesome delivery, I don't know how you do it!

While I like the way these look, they aren't as comfortable as my other Vans. They don't have the same lining along the heel and it seems to be taking a while to break them in.

First, I was pretty shocked that 90% of the reviews called this shoe true to size. True to what size? The last pair of this exact model of shoe that you purchased? They run way big. I ended up exchanging twice before I got a pair that fit, which were a full size smaller than any pair of Vans I have ever purchased (and a size and half smaller than a few pairs of Adidas I have owned). Overall, I can't really give these a rave review. They are a cheap utility shoe, and are by definition pretty average. They look really good with almost anything, fit pretty well and they cost next to nothing, but they are not high quality by any stretch of the imagination. A few weeks in and I am already blowing a seam on the side. As a summer shoe for kickin' around they are tough to beat for style and price and I will definitely buy another pair, but I would certainly not consider getting more colors or expanding it to year-round use.

I have purchased these twice for my husband. He loves the style and fit BUT the quality isn't as high as we'd like for the price. The main issue is where the canvas and the sole meet and it tends to pull apart here even after only a few weeks of wear.

Well, first of all, I would never have picked this shoe (brand/style) on my own. My future co-mother insisted I fit in at her daughter's wedding since her daughter was wearing 'pink' Van's under her wedding dress. Her other daughter (dark blue or navy) and herself (purple) to the wedding, and I finally agreed to wear a pair to the reception. I ordered what I thought was a teal color to match my dress; however, when I received them, they were too blue. Not having enough time to re-order with only a few days before the wedding to go, I wore them just so I wouldn't be in my very uncomfortable heels all night. I would have been a lot happier with 1/2 size smaller and the right color. It could be that I picked Navy myself due to the color on the website, but the 'true' color is definitely more blue than what the screen shows. If I could return them, I would as will probably not ever wear them again; however, I did wear them for approximately six hours that day. A beautiful, but rather long and exhausting day! It's a classic design! I am disappointed in the durability of the shoes. I've owned them for about a year, not too many miles on them and the sole is pulling away.

Core Classics - This shoe was pretty good. It has amazing grip and good board control. It can be really comfortable, but you have to tie and untie them every time you take them off. They skate good, but they wear out fast. If these were cheaper, they'd be a good buy.

Close, but no cigar - I once had a pair of off white shoes that looked like this, that finally wore out. This is close in appearance. I have an average width foot with a high instep. These are too wide. I wouldn't recommend these and I have other Vans that I like.

Too small and uncomfortable - I bought my usual size and found them a half size too small. I thought I could get away with it but after huge blisters on both heels I doubt I will be able to break these in. For me these will be a total loss as I already had them on outside once.

Love the look - They seem to be stretching and there is now a loose feeling when I wear them

A Confusing Shoe - I love these shoes, too bad they induce crippling pain unto my feet. Somehow, they fit both too large AND too small. Amazing! They tend to bind at the front and slip off the back, which I would've never expected. There good for a couple hours though, and they do look damn fine--especially the all black model. Individual results may vary.

I need to return this shoe isn't comfortable and is cut around the ankle to low for me.
