I am a person who prides himself in stylishness, and I am most often dressed on point. These boots are real attention getters, young and old, and I love them with one exception, which is; although I ordered aa wide (D) withe they are too tight near the arches of my feet. It is only fair to state that I ordered another pair in brown and this problem did not exist.

I've worn this style dress shoe since 1969. Everybody that sees this style comments favorably - if that's important to you. The shoe store where I used to buy them went out of business after 100 years so I bought these on-line. Fits GREAT looks GREAT! The only thing about the leather soul, when new, has a tendency to be slippery on certain carpets. My other pair of Stacy Adams, same style, are now every day shoes. But the new pair are for dress. Not to complain tho, the white stitching around the sole is hard to keep clean so I usually dye it black.

To Stacy: I have purchased all but the Blue Madison and the High Button Grey Madison which are very similar to your Madison with the laces and the clips. I wear these for evening wear and for work regarding the course I teach 1880s-1920. Recommendation for the following: Madison High Button Shoe Black Lowers and Red Uppers Madison High Button Shoe Grey Lower and White Uppers These were the styles of the Victorian Age where men's shoes had great fashion and style. I have suits to match each Madison with a walking stick/cane and people and students think this is fantastic because of their lack of familarity with the time period. Think About It! I have purcashed various two tome shoes for programs and courses as well as dress for the 1920s to the 1940s. Regards Marc Newman, Instructor, Author, Research Historian and Bon Vivant!

I love the boot. Looks great and fits good. My only two complaints is that it is a little labor some to put on with all the loops. Also on 2 of the lace holes the steel ring has come off the shoe. I have to manually push it down to stay flush on the lace hole. Not sure it is worth all the hassle of sending it back so I will probably find some local shoe repair place to fix it for a few bucks. Otherwise great boot.

Great for a formal night out, or to church, either/or even on a motorcycle. Used dancing as well. Dressy, comfortable. My 4th pair.

These boots would be absolutely perfect if they were a bit more durable and the sole wasn't leather, so I could wear them when it was wet outside. The thin leather cracked through on one pair. I wear these probably 5 days a week and they last about 2-3 years (without any leather care stuff) before the leather sole is trashed or I ripped the sides. But these boots look amazing and are so comfortable. I can't find anything comparable to the style of this boot anywhere near the same price. Order a full size lower than your normal size.

Bought these to wear pretty much every day. They seem stiff at first, but it takes a surprisingly short amount of time to wear them in. Definitely a great formal-looking boot that you can wear day-to-day. Only drawback is that the shoe laces that come with the shoe are way too short. Swing out to the store and buy some that are between 50" and 60".

As other people have noted, the leather does feel a little thin and started to show wear marks pretty fast. I bought these shoes to wear in a wedding. I felt uncomfortable wearing them before the wedding because I didn't want them to get scuffed up. Other than that, they are absolutely stunning. After the wedding, I think I will 'wear' them intentionally - they will look great with a worn look as well as the traditional shine look. Definitely worth the price.

This is a very good shoe. I walk 5-6 miles a day and the shoe is breaking in nicely. Blisters on the first day, but that is to be expected. Once broken in, they are very comfortable. They look very good with dress pants. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the laces are athletic laces, which don't work well on dress shoes, and they are too short. I had to buy some extra long dress laces, but that is the only issue.

One man's problem is another man's feature. I dance in these boots in situations where I don't want to risk my suede-soled dance shoes or where I need a period or steampunk look. The thin leather allows my foot to feel the floor. I try not to wear these outdoors, but if I dance someplace like a "heritage farm", these are what I use. I can also use these to dance on industrial carpeting in situations (such as assisted living centers) where a better dance floor is not available. In short, the properties some people find objectionable are wonderful for me.

The second time I wore these, one of the upper clasps/eyelets broke off. Within two weeks, three more broke off. This was the second pair, as I returned the first pair due to the same reasons. The smooth brown finish will peel off with regular use. I don't typically expect this for shoes at this price.

This is a great boot even though the one of the hooks at the top of the boot on each boot fell out I can still just lace through them but keep in mind that they seen to run at least a half size too big so you might want to order at least a half size smaller as with all Stacy Adams Madisons even though I always put superfeet in them to increase fit and support.

Great things: 1. Shoes comes in size 6.5 because I am a woman with wide feet and men's normal width fits me better. Not Great things: Because the leather is very stiff, each step I took made the shoe squeak loudly. I applied leather balm and left it overnight. only slight improvement. I took it to a shoe repair man who said I needed to cover the shoe with Vaseline and rub it in thoroughly. I did and left the Vaseline on overnight before wiping it off with a rag. Shoes are much better now.

I bought a pair at my regular size, and they were too big by a size and a half, but that's me. I only recommend ordering one size down. But that pair squeaked. The new pair at the right size (11.5 wide) doesn't squeak like the others, though they're different colors (grey and brown). Once the leather wears in and gets a little soft, they're a good overall casual shoe. I don't mind the scuffs and wear; I like distressed stuff. But if you want these as dress shoes, treat them with the proper chemicals.

Beautiful looking but very noisy, squeaky boots. Laces not long enough on size 15. Relaced with longer boot laces and squeaking went away after a few months. Suggest superfeet insoles on these and a thicker dress sock.

Classy, casual, dressy, comfortable, and light. All in one. Fits great, but know that the style calls for the length to run just a tad long. These boots get you noticed, and that makes them even more fun to wear.

I love these boots. I have 3 different colors now. I wear a size 10-10.5, so I ordered a 10 in these. But after trying them on they felt too big. I called Zappos and they had a replacement pair to my house the next day. I ended up with a 9.5, could possibly fit into even a 9. But these boots are super comfy. I wear them all day and walk miles in them. They are a bit squeaky the first few weeks but then it goes away. As for durability...one of the lace hooks ripped out after a few wears, and the heel seems to be loose on one pair, but otherwise they seem okay. If you like the looks of these boots, get a pair. They're pretty rad.
