The shoes are striking in appearance and comfortable on the first wear. I do not get a sense of real lasting quality, however. The leather seems thin and the laces are sub-par. If you approach shoes as a years long investment, these are not for you. If you expect to look good and feel good for a short time before moving on, you will be pleased.

Overall a decent shoe. The leather is paper thin and wrinkles fast. Shoelace unites a lot as lace is ultra thin and smooth. Very comfortable though. Probably won't last a few more months. They are 4 months old and look like they are years old. I only wear twice per week. I wear 15.

I am happy with the overall look of the shoe, at a distance. But up close, they do not seem well assembled. I have bought cheaper shoes that did not have the loose threads paint chipped from the eyelets. The heel pad seems like it is glued in. I expected more value for the price.

3rd time's a charm - Having bought two other colors of this model, the black one fit! The looks are good, although the different coloring on the edges of the sole are somewhat distracting in all three I've bought. Look out for the patent leather black - I mean how often am I going to wear them? Twice so far!

They Squeak! Not the soles, but the leather. I polished them before wearing, but they still squeaked so I had to buy a leather conditioner. After 3 applications the squeaking is nearly gone. Whew! The look is pretty nice, but because the leather is very shiny it almost looks like its not real leather. Also, when you look down at the shoe the leather eade of the sole is tan, not black. I'm sure that's part of the design, but you can't see it from the photos and it gives the shoe a much more casual look than the pictures would indicated. I usually wear a 13 but had to return that size for a size 12 EEE.

Comfort & look - Stacy Adams shoes have allways been in a class by themself. I remember as a kid saving my money to buy stacy adams shoes. When as young boys we allways tried to keep from getting any polish on the white stiching on the bottom of the shoes.

Great looking, but squeaky and stiff - The look is ultimate killer classic, couldn't be better. And the color choice is killer, too! But the Madison is a squeaky, stiff shoe. I have a pair in Taupe, it's starting to break in nicely. I'd be willing to pay $100.00 to $150.00 more if they would be better built. That said, I shall still buy more Stacy Adams Madisons in more colors, I'm sure. A perfed cap-toe is my favorite style, even beating out wingtips by far.

Started coming unstitched after three weeks. It's winter here in Chicago, but they should have lasted a little longer than that. Zappos was fantastic about it and automatically sent me a new pair, no questions asked!

Horrible shoes. I had two return my original ones because they were 2 sizes too big than the shoe size I've been wearing for about 6 years. Also, after 3 days of wearing them in an office, the damn heel fell right off the shoe...right. This price to hear a crunch when I hit the bottom of the stairs to find the nails in the shoe are trying their way into the marble floor! And sure enough, the sole is sitting nice and pretty on the stairwell above! Ridiculous. Not worth the price.

Second try with these boots, fit was good, like the style a lot, a little stiff out of the box but wore them for a couple hours around the house to break them in slowly, unfortunately the quality is not there, some of the eyelets popped out after the two hours. I want to give them a third try but very hesitant. Waiting for the credit to decide what's next.

Definitely runs large, somewhere between a half to a full size. The shoe looks good from a distance, but disappoints up close. The leather in the uppers is surprisingly thin for a shoe in this price range. There's no lining or support inside. I expected more from Stacy Adams.

Madison.... sad tale - First, I LOVE ZAPPOS! I'm making Zappos fanatics around my workplace. I'm always impressed with selection and prices. Couldn't be more thrilled with my Madison shoes, until the heels began to seperate from the bottoms. I only wore them 3 times!!!! Yikes. Too bad, I loved this SHOE!

Way too narrow and way too large. The leather is hard and stiff.

How does this shoe have such good reviews? The shoe was a half size or more longer than any 12 I've ever worn but the worst part was the width. I've never worn anything wider than a W or E but got the EE - Wide after having trouble finding a shoe that was wide enough recently. Half of my foot was hanging off the inside of this shoe. The other smaller shoes I've tried recently were wider than this one. I could also see the sides of the shoe crumpling as I put any sort of pressure on my foot. I was truly shocked by the poor construction of this shoe.

These are poorly constructed. The material cannot be leather; it is thin and flaky and looks like it will crack at any moment. You can see the bad quality on the pictures, those wrinkles are what they appear to be. The dye on the sole was applied sloppily, with dabs of dye encroaching on the lighter leather parts. I am surprised by the rave reviews.

I bought these shoes on 7/20/12. They look great! The break in period is very minimal. That about ends the good part. It now October and I am finding myself buying a new pair of dress shoes. The seams on the toe began to rip apart on both the right and the left shoes. The leather looks great but does not stand the test of time. After about 6 weeks the shoes began to look way older than its time. Also, there is little to no traction on the sole. I would not recommend buying this shoe.
