Antique Gold really is gold - Beautiful boot. Sexy but tough. Substantial but not too heavy. All in all, I’m a big fan. However… they do run about ½ a size big even with thicker socks. So go a little smaller. But the calf is roomy, great for those of us who don't have stick legs. And the colors on the web seem a little off. I thought I was getting a light brown boot with antique gold. I got it the next day – love the overnight shipping – and it was midnight cowboy all over again. They really are gold. And not kind of gold. They ARE gold. I called the 1-800 number to exchange them for another color and half a size smaller and they were awesome. Told me how to print off the UPS tag, where the nearest UPS is, told me I’d have my new (less gold, half size smaller) boots tomorrow. Big fan. Great service.

So well made! These boots are so beautifully made. I feel really cool wearing them! Order your exact size and if you're in between sizes like I am, order the next size up. They are sleek in design so the larger size is still flattering to your foot. You will not sacrifice comfort for style.

Frye's Harness Boot - The boot looks great with jeans and provided good (not great) support. Getting the boot on (the leather straps make the ankle area tight) is the tough part.

I love the boots but I ordered the size based on my sneaker size - 10, but I feel that I probably could have ordered a whole size smaller, if not at least a half size smaller.

These boots are great looking, but a little heavy after wearing them all day. They run true to size, but are a bit tricky to get on -- not easy to slip your foot into, but maybe they will give a bit with time. The color is great with jeans.

Too too tight - Nice boots but ran small. Stiff leather w/little initial "give". I'm returning them.

Nice - Nice boot and great craftsmanship. The boot is very comfortable and I wear them with thick socks. They are true to size and I love the distressed leather and sturdiness of the leather. Strong boot, which appears it can last through any kind of weather related elements. I highly recommend the boot if you're looking for a tough boot and vintage appeal from Frye.

I bought 2 pairs one blue one brown - I love these boots and get lots of compliments on how they look. They are not the most comfortable boot however, around the toes they are a bit too tight for my comfort, and they are a bit heavy. I usually wear 8 1/2 or 9. And the 8 fit me.

Frye's Harness boot review from NYC - The boot is nice looking, though a little tight around the in-step (though could be my wide foot). I hope to get a lot of wear next winter, as these boots never go out of style.

Great look, weird fit- These boots look great but my right boot is a different fit than the left one. When I put the right one on, it gently slides. The left one, I have to stomp and kick. I want to wear them everyday but don't because of this.

Nice casual boot- I had wanted a pair of Frye boots for awhile and these were the softest through the shaft. Although it is a bit bulky at first, you do get used to the shape/style and it really is a very nice looking boot. It is great in any kind of weather and made very well. I know this boot will last me a lifetime. Buy a half size smaller.

Frye Harness - Love em! There was a minor flaw on the inside left heel on the leather, but my boyfriend convinced me that it contributed to the natural, distressed look...and since I wanted to wear them that day, I agreed!

Great Boot! Although the boot seems a bit too large when you first put it on, don't worry! As you wear them- with a heavier than normal sock- you will realize they really are the correct size for you.

Just received these boots (12/13/05), put them on and ready to take them for a spin outside. I wear a size 7M and ordered them in a 7M. I did this because these boots tend to run a little narrow in the toe box area, but, I also found that they are a little narrow in the ankle area, so if you have thick ankles, consider this. There is a little heel slippage, since they feel a little big (about 1/2 size bigger), but I kind of expected that. A couple of years ago, I had a pair of Durango Harness boots, same size7M, and there was slippage, narrow toe box, but the ankle area was not as narrow as these Frye’s. But this I know, from my Durango boots, that the leather stretched and eventually, my Durangos size 7M felt like 71/2 to 8. So I'm hoping that the same is true with Frye’s. We'll see. I ordered these Frye’s in the "Brown" color, which has a sort of weathered look, but I am pleased with this color. They look like they can go with anything from jeans to skirts. Once again, Zappos came through.

Give this one a chance - I was a bit nervous to order a half size smaller than my usual size 9, but after reading the reviews, I went with an 8.5. At first, my toes felt really cramped and I feared this boot just wouldn't work for me (the heel was a bit loose, so I knew a 9 would be too big). BUT, I wore them for short amounts of time for several days and finally, the leather relaxed in the toe box. Now they fit just fine! So, give them time to break in gently. These boots make me feel quite confident when I wear them. One small complaint: the shaft of the boot seems to have taken on the dark shades from my jeans. I have not treated the leather yet, so I may be to blame. The base of the boot is still tan, but the shaft has much darker bits now. Not a big deal, but I wanted to mention it. This boot is hot!

FUNKY- These boots are very funky but I have to say they do weigh a lot... they're very comfortable w/their low heel but they are heavy... I love their coolness none the less.

Boots - Great boots but very hard to get on.

Fry harness - Good price, nicely built, but some of the leather seems less than high quality and a little overly distressed.

Looks great but fits very snug - I love this boot, but I wouldn't order a half size down. I am a 7 1/2 and ordered a 7. They are very tight and tough to get on. Hopefully once I break them in they will fit better I would have prefered the 7.5, but they are sold out now. Otherwise the shoe is great. They were shipped in 2 days and I love them.

Have to marry this boot - First of all, zappos is the best!! my husband ordered me these boots at around 10 pm EST and they were on our front porch by noon the NEXT morning! I've wanted these boots for a long time, and I knew they would take a long time to get to the comfy, broken-in point where I want them. So, yes, they're a little uncomfortable now. But, like a great pair of Levi's 501s, the time you put in will eventually be worth it. They do fit (like many boots) a little larger--I usually wear a 10 and had my hubby order a 9.5 based on the other reviews, and I'm having zappos send a 9 to see what the difference is (the 9.5 does slip a little in the heel). Definitely try a smaller size than usual to start with. Thanks Zappos! I've never had better customer service. And what awesome prices!!!

cool boot - This was the 2nd pair of Frye Harness boots that I bought. The first pair (size 6.5), I bought about 4 years ago & love them. They are still my all-time favorite boot. I thought these would fit the same being the same size/style. Wrong. As cool looking as these are, they didn't fit me very well. They were too big & the shaft felt extremely large compared to my first pair. I returned them & ordered the Harley-Davidson harness boot which is a little stiffer but a more accurate fit. For quality, you just can't beat the Frye. I hope my Harley's don't disappoint.

Sexy AND Comfortable - I absolutely LOVE these boots! I'm on my feet all day long and they're one of the few shoes I own that I don't want to rip off at the end of the day. Plus, I get tons of compliments on them. That being said, there are a few minor complaints I have with the fit. First of all, they tend to be a tad narrow in the forefoot to the toes. If you have a wider foot, I recommend ordering a size up. Also, even though they have great arch support, if you have high arches they're a little hard to get on at first. Once they are broken in, it's much better. Highly recommended!

I love the Frye harness boot. I get lots of compliments on them. I've had the "tan" (which is dark brown, as shown in the picture) for 2 years and recently purchased the black from zappos. I love the look of them - they go great with jeans, dress pants and skirts (short and long). I do have a couple minor complaints about the boots, however. First, my tan pair squeaks. Not something I expect from such a high quality boot. Second, the new black pair I received has something sharp sticking out on the inside of the right boot where the pull-on tabs are sewn in. The first time I wore them, my skin was rubbed off on either side of my leg because of this. Painful. So, now I wear band aids in those spots when I wear the boots until I can figure out another solution.

Frye Harness - The first thing I saved up for and bought with my own money when I was a young girl was a pair of Frye boots. I have always loved the look and the new styles are better than ever. My husband gave me this pair as a gift on Christmas morning and I put them on immediately (they look great with pajama pants, by the way). I've worn them several times. The quality, design, texture and color are excellent. My only complaint is that they feel slightly big in the heel. My husband purchased a half size smaller than I normally wear based upon some reviews he read. That was a good move. The size is right, but again, the heel is a bit wide. It will be worth it to figure out the right sock or insert to comfortably wear these very cool boots.
