Wouldn’t recommend getting this boot a half size smaller - Love the look of this boot and ordered it over a year ago. I take a size 8 but ordered a 7.5 and regret it, didn't return them because I thought they would stretch out (they did not) now my last hope is that a cobbler can stretch them out for me. :(

Almost perfect, but not quite - The look is good, for sure, but the fit is funky. Getting your foot into the bed of the boot is a struggle; it's an easy go until you have to push your heel into the very unyielding back of the boot. Once in, the boot feels pretty comfy, as long as you don't have a wide foot. My toes are just a tad cramped, but my foot is average width. Still looking for the perfect clothes to accompany them.

LOVE these boots, only downfall is they are a little tricky putting on. have been wanting them forever, but they were worth the wait!!

Believe the reviews -- a tad on the large side - Loved these, but now have to invest in some thicker socks. Quite comfortable from the beginning.

Adorable, but strange arch - The construction of the arch is a little bit strange. I have moderately flat feet, and the insole has a small ridge where the heel transitions into the rest of the foot bed. It's not problematic, just a little odd. I love the way they look!

Too narrow for me - After trying I think seven other pairs of Frye boots in both women’s and men’s, I finally found a pair that fit. This wasn't it. I did have to order down a full size for length (as Frye recommends), but the width at the ball of the foot is torturously narrow. I don't normally have to wear wide sizes! I even tried the men's wide in this style and found it to run medium, but the calf was still too tight (oh yeah, the calf was also ridiculously tight on me). In the end, what worked was the men's 8R (shorter) in Gaucho (rather than black, which is what I had been trying). I found the different type of leather to make a big difference in comfort. Also, it's partly just a matter of finding the right pair. This is definitely a brand where two pairs of the "same" boot can feel very different.

Not the most comfortable boot... Very solid boot, hard-wearing (I hope) and the least chunky and workmanlike of all the Frye boots. But,hard to get on and then slips at sides of heel when walking. They are not too big, the size is right, just the width/fit at either side of the heel does not support properly. I am going to try putting a stick-on pad or something on either side to see if this stops my foot slipping up and down. Much smaller than usual size too. I am usually a 9.5 or 10, this boot is 8.5.

Gorgeous boot - I love the look of this boot, but its fit is a little difficult. The toe box is narrow but it slips on the heel. I have broken these boots in pretty well and have gotten used to the heel slippage, but frankly, paying this much for a pair of boots, I hate to have to use the phrase "gotten used to..." This is a gorgeous boot and I will wear them a very long time.

Antique Gold really is gold - Beautiful boot. Sexy but tough. Substantial but not too heavy. All in all, I’m a big fan. However… they do run about ½ a size big even with thicker socks. So go a little smaller. But the calf is roomy, great for those of us who don't have stick legs. And the colors on the web seem a little off. I thought I was getting a light brown boot with antique gold. I got it the next day – love the overnight shipping – and it was midnight cowboy all over again. They really are gold. And not kind of gold. They ARE gold. I called the 1-800 number to exchange them for another color and half a size smaller and they were awesome. Told me how to print off the UPS tag, where the nearest UPS is, told me I’d have my new (less gold, half size smaller) boots tomorrow. Big fan. Great service.

So well made! These boots are so beautifully made. I feel really cool wearing them! Order your exact size and if you're in between sizes like I am, order the next size up. They are sleek in design so the larger size is still flattering to your foot. You will not sacrifice comfort for style.

Frye's Harness Boot - The boot looks great with jeans and provided good (not great) support. Getting the boot on (the leather straps make the ankle area tight) is the tough part.

I love the boots but I ordered the size based on my sneaker size - 10, but I feel that I probably could have ordered a whole size smaller, if not at least a half size smaller.

These boots are great looking, but a little heavy after wearing them all day. They run true to size, but are a bit tricky to get on -- not easy to slip your foot into, but maybe they will give a bit with time. The color is great with jeans.

Too too tight - Nice boots but ran small. Stiff leather w/little initial "give". I'm returning them.

Great boot!! I really love this boot. It's way more comfortable than I anticipated. It looks great and is true to size. You'll love them.

Nice - Nice boot and great craftsmanship. The boot is very comfortable and I wear them with thick socks. They are true to size and I love the distressed leather and sturdiness of the leather. Strong boot, which appears it can last through any kind of weather related elements. I highly recommend the boot if you're looking for a tough boot and vintage appeal from Frye.

I bought 2 pairs one blue one brown - I love these boots and get lots of compliments on how they look. They are not the most comfortable boot however, around the toes they are a bit too tight for my comfort, and they are a bit heavy. I usually wear 8 1/2 or 9. And the 8 fit me.

Frye's Harness boot review from NYC - The boot is nice looking, though a little tight around the in-step (though could be my wide foot). I hope to get a lot of wear next winter, as these boots never go out of style.

Great look, weird fit- These boots look great but my right boot is a different fit than the left one. When I put the right one on, it gently slides. The left one, I have to stomp and kick. I want to wear them everyday but don't because of this.

Nice casual boot- I had wanted a pair of Frye boots for awhile and these were the softest through the shaft. Although it is a bit bulky at first, you do get used to the shape/style and it really is a very nice looking boot. It is great in any kind of weather and made very well. I know this boot will last me a lifetime. Buy a half size smaller.

Frye Harness - Love em! There was a minor flaw on the inside left heel on the leather, but my boyfriend convinced me that it contributed to the natural, distressed look...and since I wanted to wear them that day, I agreed!

Great Boot! Although the boot seems a bit too large when you first put it on, don't worry! As you wear them- with a heavier than normal sock- you will realize they really are the correct size for you.

Just received these boots (12/13/05), put them on and ready to take them for a spin outside. I wear a size 7M and ordered them in a 7M. I did this because these boots tend to run a little narrow in the toe box area, but, I also found that they are a little narrow in the ankle area, so if you have thick ankles, consider this. There is a little heel slippage, since they feel a little big (about 1/2 size bigger), but I kind of expected that. A couple of years ago, I had a pair of Durango Harness boots, same size7M, and there was slippage, narrow toe box, but the ankle area was not as narrow as these Frye’s. But this I know, from my Durango boots, that the leather stretched and eventually, my Durangos size 7M felt like 71/2 to 8. So I'm hoping that the same is true with Frye’s. We'll see. I ordered these Frye’s in the "Brown" color, which has a sort of weathered look, but I am pleased with this color. They look like they can go with anything from jeans to skirts. Once again, Zappos came through.

Give this one a chance - I was a bit nervous to order a half size smaller than my usual size 9, but after reading the reviews, I went with an 8.5. At first, my toes felt really cramped and I feared this boot just wouldn't work for me (the heel was a bit loose, so I knew a 9 would be too big). BUT, I wore them for short amounts of time for several days and finally, the leather relaxed in the toe box. Now they fit just fine! So, give them time to break in gently. These boots make me feel quite confident when I wear them. One small complaint: the shaft of the boot seems to have taken on the dark shades from my jeans. I have not treated the leather yet, so I may be to blame. The base of the boot is still tan, but the shaft has much darker bits now. Not a big deal, but I wanted to mention it. This boot is hot!

FUNKY- These boots are very funky but I have to say they do weigh a lot... they're very comfortable w/their low heel but they are heavy... I love their coolness none the less.
