Great Boot!
Just bought this boot in a full size smaller than I usually wear. I had read the reviews that they run a half size smaller, but I have narrow feet and am glad I chose a 9 instead of my usual 10. These boots are pretty comfortable right from the start though. They are a classic and I will now consider other Frye styles (shades of the '70's). I hesitated for a few months before ordering and would encourage others to go for it. I'm glad I did.

Awesome boots -
These boots are so sweet!! The leather is so soft and the fit is really nice. They are definitely half a size smaller and the toe is a little long (I have tiny feet though!!) but I have been wearing them almost every day since I got them. Love them!! The leather stretches really quickly also.

Cool boots!
I have a wide foot and huge calves. I was worried because these don't come in wide width. But I read the other reviews and decided to take a chance. I'm so happy I did! These boots were a little hard to get on, but once on, they are really comfy. Especially after you've had them on a while. The calf is plenty wide for me, and so is the shoe part. I agree that there’s a lot of wiggle room in the heel but it hasn't been a problem for me. I love these boots!

Frye boots are worth every penny!
I searched for years to find high quality boots in this style and distressed brown color - then I discovered Frye. Thanks Zappos! I get a lot of compliments when I wear these boots. I have worn them constantly for two years and they have held up great. I ordered size 8 and returned them for size 7 1/2; so follow the advice of the reviewers! They look and feel like they were made just for me. I have no problem paying a little more for USA craftsmanship and the price of these boots is reasonable. I'm ordering a second pair in black today!

My boots look great and they are comfortable enough to wear all day. They look really cute tucked into skinny jeans or out with boot cut jeans. They also look really good with dresses.

I love these boots!
The Frye 12R boots are fabulous. I did order the next half size down as was frequently suggested in the reviews I read, but the 7.5 was too small (too narrow in the forefoot). I returned these for the size 8 (my regular size) and I couldn't be happier. The customer service was excellent, responsive & quick. The boots are very comfortable without really any needed breaking in. They will get much use!

I would suggest ordering a size down. They will feel tight for a couple days but then they will fit great. I would also strongly encourage a suede protector spray. Otherwise you'll deal with lots of discoloration.

I once had a pair of these boots when I was 6 years old and rode motorcycles with my parents (of course back then you could get these Frye boots for way less). My first pair came; I am a 10, so I ordered the 9.5 ~ too big. Second pair, again too big. I was a little disheartened. Afraid that these buttery leather, hand-made boots, would not fit my funny feet (one broken ankle with 2 plates & many screws). Then I remembered I have recently lost over 75lbs., so I re-ordered in a size 9. OH THANK YOU ZAPPOS!!!! These buttery soft, HEAVENLY boots fit me PERFECTLY!!!! After seeing 3 pairs, and realizing that these are handmade, I looked past some little sole flaws (some places are rough where the foot meets the heel on some pairs), and have decided that the third time is the charm! And Zappos: Their customer service has been above reproach!!! My third pair arrived OVERNIGHT! I will never shop for shoes anywhere else if I do not have to! Frye’s are worth the money, and Zappos is DEFINITELY worth your business!!!!!!

The Crazy Brown color is beautiful. The fit is fabulous. True to size with no break in whatsoever. Your heel will slip as much as one inch sometimes, but that will stop once the boot is worn and conforms to your foot and movement. Worth the money. These boots are well made in America (which makes me happy) and will last a lifetime.

Ordered Crazy Horse Brown color and they are hot! They are comfortable and well made. I love the worn look they have. I ordered my true size 6.5 and they fit perfect. People should realize that your heel will slip in a boot as much as one inch. If your toes and instep fit they are fine. If you order down a size to stop the heel slip you will get blisters and your toes might be too close to the tip of the boot. The heel won't slip as much as they break in.

I normally wear a 9 1/2, but followed advice from reviews and went with a 9. Perfect choice. The boot is stiff, but after about the 4th time out it felt better. I have a very narrow heel so the heel slip is a bit more for me, need to wear a good pair of knee hi socks or the boot pulls my socks down under my foot! That's my only negative.

First, I love the EXCELLENT service I receive from Zappos!! I love the look of the harness boot. I owned a similar pair in '72. Frye makes the very best. The only problem is the break in period. I find this to be the only part I really don't like. Also the top rubs on your shin, and creates a bit of a sore, so I recommend knee socks. So if you love the look of these boots, you must wear them, and I mean wear them. I believe these will be my very last pair of boots, because they will last forever. Excellent quality. I also love the color. And I rate these at 5 stars simply because when these have broke in they are all 5 stars!

I love these boots!
I am in love with these boots. I have been looking at them for the last 2 years and finally decided to buy them. I am so glad I did. I got the chestnut brown version, and the leather is gorgeous. I did end up following the advice of the 300+ people that said to order a 1/2 size down. I wasn't sure about that, since I am a perfect size 10, but the 9 1/2 fit perfectly. I also have wide calves, and I still have plenty of room. These are definitely worth the money.

I am so excited that I decided to order these boots. They arrived Thursday but I had to return them because they had a scratch on them. I was disappointed and called customer service.The rep I spoke with was so nice and helped me through the return process. I told him I wanted to wear them that Friday and he told me it was past the 1pm time frame, but that he would try to get them to me as soon as possible. Let me tell you all, ZAPPOS is awesome!!! My replacement boots arrived that Friday early in the morning!!! I got to wear them that night as planned. I have received so many compliments and have only worn them twice. They look awesome with jeans tucked in the boot. I can't wait to put them on with skirts and dresses. I usually wear a 6.5 and got the 6, based on the reviews and was really glad I did. I did however have a hard time deciding, and glad I chose the smaller. I love boots and these seriously are already a favorite. I know they are a little expensive, but I think they are so worth it. My mom is even thinking about getting a pair. The first day I wore them my feet did hurt a bit, but the second time I had no problems. FYI, the heels on these kinds of boots will feel a little loose, but that’s a boot fit for you. If you are still deciding whether to get them, you will be so glad you did. I have purchased three other pairs of shoes (running shoes) and have only had great service. Thank you ZAPPOS!!!

Awesome boots - So worth the price. These boots are absolutely amazing. They are motorcycle style boots so your heel is meant to be a little loose while the toe is tight, which seems odd, but it's totally normal. If you have wide feet you'll probably have to get a bigger size than normal because I have pretty narrow feet and they're very snug. I don't think I'm ever taking these off. I might even wear them to bed. Perfect for Seattle's weather! Make sure you use the right leather care on them though or you'll ruin the leather! Talk to someone at Nordstrom or something, they'll point you in the right direction for the correct care of these boots.

Amazing - The boots are great, of course. They're Frye. They do slide a little in the heel and take some breaking in. Zappos customer service was incredible. I didn't like the coloring of the first pair I received, and even though nothing indicated there was any mistake, Zappos sent me a different pair, the next day, before I had even sent back the first pair!!!

These are well constructed boots. Worth every penny. Extremely good looking and durable. Size down one full size if you have a narrow heel. I am a 9.5 med width, but in Frye boots I must size down. The boot is perfect one size smaller as it still has room in the toe box and does not slip on the heel. I live in Florida, so wearing multiple pairs of socks etc is out of the question.
