This is a beautiful boot, and the sole will be good in a snowy/icy climate. However, I ended up giving my pair to a friend because the heel was just too high for me. Previously, I\'ve worn the Veronica boot, and at other times tend to wear Sanita clogs. My bunions couldn\'t adjust to the higher heel. Too bad!

These are the best boots! True to size, so comfortable and you just feel "cool" wearing them. Great with jeans or skirts. Super durable; I think they will last forever.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Zappos and my Frye Harness 12R boots! Yes, that's right, boots. I was so happy with the service I received from Zappos and the comfort and fit of my black Frye boots, that I ordered another pair. I got the Frye Campus 14L boots in Blazer Brown! I really love them too. Best of all though is the customer service from Zappos. It is absolutely unbeatable. I have been spreading the news to everyone, even the guys, at work. Actually, it's the guys who have been really complimenting my Frye boots.Thank you, Zappos for your excellent service. I will be a customer for life!

Love these boots! I bought these boots to wear with jeans and longer skirts and they look great. I wore them for the first time yesterday to go shopping and my feet were comfortable the whole time. After reading many of the reviews, I ordered a 1/2 size smaller than what I wear in tennis shoes and they fit perfect. Easy to get on and off. I know I'll have these boots for many years to come. I would definitely recommend them.

Love these boots. I live in a tropical setting and was afraid they would be too warm, but the leather is relatively light and supple. Love the crazy horse color, looks like I've had these boots for years. These are a great upgrade to the ubiquitous crocs or sneakers for running errands and are also practical for light work. I wanted to replace an heirloom pair for a long time and finally splurged. They are very comfortable and offer protection if you're walking in heavy brush, but because the leather is so soft they don't offer much in the way of arch or ankle support so I'll still keep a sturdy pair of hiking boots around for heavy field work.

Last Friday, I wanted to wear my new Frye 15Rs with jeans and, to my great disappointment, they are so tall that they showed through my pants. Ah yes, I thought, I need a pair of 12Rs! So, I finally decided on the Chocolate Vintage on Sunday and they arrived Monday (yesterday). I thought I'd love the distressed look, but I didn't, so I called to make an exchange and got the Burnt Red instead. They arrived this morning (thanks to Zappos' amazing customer service!) and they are gorgeous. As with all Frye products, the leather is really beautiful and the boot very well-made. I always take a half size smaller in the Harness and the Campus and still have plenty of wiggle room. I highly recommend these if you're looking for a great-quality classic that will last for years. As always, Frye is a great value for the money.

I love these boots but they are too narrow on my wide foot when I ordered a size smaller as was recommended. Since this is Zappos, it's easy enough to return for another size if they don't fit, but alas, I did not order my first pair from Zappos. But I would recommend ordering your true size or even a size larger if you have a wide foot at all. If they are too long you would be better getting a good pair of insoles to take up the space than having them be too small. I love these boots so much that I've worn them for a year trying to stretch them out, but it's not happening and my feet hurt! I finally gave in and bought another pair, a full size larger. I'm excited to finally be able to wear them without pain!

Love the boots. Ordered 1/2 size less than I normally wear and it was perfect. Ordered on a Wednesday and they were on my doorstep on Thursday afternoon. Wow! What else can I say, just saving up for some Carsons.

Best boots ever. So I found Durango boots that look just like these Fryes, but a lot cheaper. There's a reason why they were much cheaper! Because they were gross and uncomfortable and basically, they sucked! I returned those and ordered these Frye Harnesses. Wow, the most comfortable boots I have ever put on my two feet. I also own the Frye Paige Tall Riding boots, which I also love and are so stylish and awesome, but these Harness boots are so much more comfortable. I usually wear size 5.5-6 in regular shoes and my Paige boots are a size 5.5, but so hard to take off so I ordered these in a 6 and they feel a little long, but other than that they fit perfect with or without socks and are easy to put on and take off. I saw these boots at the store in the chocolate vintage color which was pretty cool looking, but I ended up ordering them from Zappos in black. They look good with every color denim or leggings or dresses. Love them! I ordered these at 10 PM Tuesday night, they were at my doorstep by afternoon the next day. I don't know how they do it, but Zappos is seriously the best!

These boots were well worth it! I got the sort of chocolate natural distressed leather. I have really short calves so I was worried about being able to get them on being that they have no zipper or stretching to help put on the mid calf (for me they are High Calf) boots. But I was pleasantly surprised that just giving them a once over with my leather moisturizer and wear them for about an hour and they had stretched just right. They have become one of my staples. I wear them at least once a week! And made me feel like I was helping to spur the economy a bit.

I\'ve had these boots for a week now and I love them! Before they arrived, I was a little uncertain about the mid-calf height, but I\'ve discovered that it makes it very versatile and fits a variety of jeans, from skinny to boot cute. I do have to say though, these boots are very heavy and a bit clunky, but for some reason they still look great! My normal shoe size is 5.5 and the smallest size that Frye\'s makes in this boot is 5.5. It did feel a half size too large as there was too much heel slippage. I remedied it by wearing thick boot socks. I had tried using an insole but it didn\'t feel right. It\'s taken me a week to break it in a bit, especially the toebox. Like I said, they look great and are starting to feel good. If I could wear these everyday, I would!

These boots were purchased in the dark tan color. They look great! As a pull on boot they at first felt loose but of course as you get used to walking in this style again (I had a pair in the 70s)you remember to let the boot follow your foot. Lots of support for the arch, a perfect match to my size, enough heel for fashionability but not too much to bother my lower back. Heavy! if you are not used to a big pair of leather boots, don\'t break these in by walking around NYC - be sure to get used to them and then they will feel like you have had them forever. No blisters, although the Frye label inside chafed a nasty wound into the side of my leg when I had on short socks one day. You might want to cut out the label or cover it with a large bandaid or piece of duct tape. People comment on these boots every time I wear them, including my undergraduate students who are much much cooler than me. And of course the question is - "oh! are those Fryes???"

It\'s love at first sight again! This is my 2nd pair of Frye boots: The Harness 12R in Tan. The quality of the leather and craftsmanship is incredible! I had a little more difficulty getting the right fit in this style. My first pair, the Frye Billy Pull On, in 6.5, fit perfectly. I read the reviews for the Harness 12R and ordered the Belted Harness 12R in size 6. It was too tight across the ball of my foot and the snugness of the heel felt like it could rub. I ordered this pair, the Harness 12R in Tan, in 6.5. Yes, it\'s roomy, it also happens to be a perfect fit across the ball of my foot and sucks my socks right off when I remove the boot! I\'m sticking with 6.5! The boot fits well with thick socks or a cushy insole. It\'s completely comfortable walking, going up & down stairs, and picking up the pace to catch an elevator or train. The shaft accommodates my jeans and they look great with casual and girly skirts too!

BEST BOOTS EVER! I love the red. It is a beautiful shade and goes with everything. These boots were comfortable right out of the box. I wore them all day and they seemed to get more comfortable as the day went on. These will quickly become my favorite boots.

These are beautifully crafted boots. I read the reviews and ordered a half-size smaller then I normally wear, and this was defiitely the right call, as the boots fit well - snug but not too tight. I have a very narrow foot, so there is some slippage in the heel, but having the half size smaller and wearing a thicker sock minimizes this. I had ordered another style of Frye Boots in my regualr size, and it was definitely too big. Were a bit stiff at first, but are breaking in nicely.

As usual my Zappos order included detailed tracking, witty and exceptional customer service and arrived next day, wow. And the boots, swoon, nearly made me whimper aloud as I pulled them on. Fit like a glove with socks and perfect for my well toned calf muscles (sometimes a problem with boots). Feel silly in that I just don't want to take them off. Plan to buy several more. This buy is one of many outstanding experiences I have had with Zappos.

I bought these boots two years ago and still wear them nearly every day. They just keep getting better looking and more comfortable. I walk my kids to school in the Seattle rain and my feet are never wet or cold in them. Honestly, they are so fantastic, I get a compliment from someone somewhere every time I wear them! I have other Fryes, but these are my longtime can't live without 'em pair!

I love these boots! I have never had a pair of Frye boots before, and I lusted after these for several months (in the burnt red-of course!) and finally bought them. I wear an 8 1/2, and ignored the advice of other reviewers to by a half-size smaller. I have wide feet, and I didn't want to take the chance. The fit is fine, and even better if I put some Dr. Scholl's insoles in them! They are so stylish-cool, and well-made. I will be buying other Fryes, I'm sure! I wear them with both casual and dressy clothes, and they lend themselves to almost any look. I was really impressed with the overnight shipping. Instant gratification. Thanks for great service and a great product.

I have had these boots 3 years and they are my favorite. They are very comfortable. I wear them in the sun (not too hot), rain, and snow. My feet are never wet or cold. They are true to size, not too narrow. May be loose on those with narrow feet (worth putting and insert in). Dress them up or down. The older they get the better they get. Love them!

Really good boots. They are a little lighter in color than in the Zappos photos, but I suspect they will darken over time. They also do seem to run a little large. However, I think this is a plus since you want a thick sock with his style boot anyway. Now, onto the good news: these are VERY comfortable. I didn’t have to break them in at all - they were comfy from the first wearing! No blisters or sore spots! My feet didn’t get tired or hurt at all despite wearing them all day. They look cool with skinny jeans tucked in, with leggings, with a boot-cut jean or against a bare leg. They have nice height without feeling like a heel. They are very well made with thick, soft leather. I plan to keep them forever, which is more than I can say about most of my shoes. These were my first pair of Frye boots and now I absolutely have the confidence (and desire) to buy more of their boots.

I love these boots. I always wanted to get 'em and now I finally did. I usually wear an 8.5 or 9, but got these in an 8 and I'm wondering if I even could have gone down to a 7.5. They are snug around the foot, but loose on the heel which is just the way these boots are since they are slip ons. I have skinny legs so the shaft is a little wide, but not too bad. The inside is cushioned and very comfy. The color is great (I got the darker brown) and the material is worth the money. I still need to break them in, but I'm sure they last a long time.

These boots are the best I have ever owned. In fact I got rid of some other pairs of boots I had because they are so uncomfortable compared to these Frye boots. I have wanted a pair of Frye boots for many years and finally splurged. It was worth the money. I have small feet with high arches. These boots are comfortable enough to wear all day long. I plan to get several more pairs in different colors!!!
