Gorgeous! I've wanted a pair of Frye boots since I was a teenager but couldn't afford them. Well, I bit the bullet and finally snagged me a pair. The craftsmanship is amazing; the leather is soft and sturdy, the soles look like they can take a beating. Also, they are made so that the sole can eventually be replaced once worn out. If they are cared for, the engineer boot will last forever! They also look amazing with anything! Jeans, dresses, skirts, gauchos...the list goes on. They're great for ladies with thicker calves, too!

Great classic look - Great boot...this boot feels better as you wear them...they need to be broken in a bit...great looking, though...especially with jeans and long skirts.

Great looking boot! I love the look of these boots. They are very versatile & look fantastic with jeans, cargo pants, and even skirts/dresses with tights. They're a bit narrow, though, so if you have a wider foot, you might need to compensate with a thinner sock.

Love the Boots! I picked these up to replace a pair I've had since college that I finally ran into the ground! Get them a 1/2 size larger than you normally wear!

Quite possibly my favorite boots ever & Zappos is fantastic! I have wanted a pair of boots like this forever, so I finally decided, oh why not? They are the greatest, perfect in every way. Since it is still summer, I have been wearing them with little feminine sundresses, and I can't wait to pair them with some tights for fall. I am very happy with the quality; they seem well-constructed and I expect them to last for a long time with some basic care. I was a little apprehensive ordering boots online. I have pretty "thick" calves, so I ordered both the 8.5 and the 9 (I typically wear an 8 or 8.5 in boots). The size 9 are perfect and I wear the top buckle undone to keep them more casual and slouchy. I am thinking of just adding another hole for the buckle. Zappos was great. Shipped so fast it has to be magic or something (ordered Friday late at night, received Monday afternoon with the FREE shipping!). Returning the extra size was effortless. Since Zappos has such a great selection, I will probably be shopping here a lot in the future.

Need to be broken in - I originally purchased the 7.5 pair, but I could only get one on my foot. Sadly, once on it was a perfect fit, but I returned them and upgraded to an 8. These are easier to get on (still take some tugging) and are a little loose (however, I wear thick socks with them). I tried to wear them in July to break them in, but my sweaty feet ended up giving me blisters - thicker socks and cooler weather will make these perfect.

I love the look of these shoes, but I bought them half a size too small. I didn't have a printer either so I couldn't really return them. So, I just wear these on those days I feel like dressing funky.

Love this boot - Better than I expected, a great alternative to the short slouchy 80's boots, so fun to wear with tights and dresses!

Better than I expected - I love the look of these boots - they go with everything. They are also expertly constructed and are made of high quality materials. I was expecting them to be stiff and hard to break in, but was pleasantly surprised. They were comfy from the first day. I went walking in them on the second day - and they seem to just be getting more comfortable. The only thing is this boot has a fairly prominent arch support - this may be a problem if you have flat feet. This shoe ran true to size. I'm completely happy with this purchase.

Frye's Engineer 12R W - I absolutely LOOOVE these boots!!! Great shape, nice leather! They do fit true to size, so there's no need to order them 1/2 size bigger! I just got them, today is their first day on the road... They are very comfy, no problems whatsoever!

I shouldn't have waited so long! I love these boots! I'd admired them for a couple years in a catalog, but held back since it seems scary to spend so much on a boot you can't try on at a store. Well, I took the advise of another Zappos customer and simply ordered a couple sizes...the plan being to keep the one that fit best and return the other. It was the perfect solution! (And Zappos makes making the return SO easy.) As with other Frye items, this one fit best a half size smaller than I usually wear. I have a slightly narrow foot and this style suits it well. Yes, a little chaffing on the calf if you don't wear a tall sock...but as the leather softens this will be eliminated. I wear them with jeans (of course) and even with my longer silk skirts. I'll be traveling to Europe soon and plan to make these my primary footwear for the trip. I'll choose my wardrobe to go with my boots!

Love/Hate Relationship :) While they are a bit pricey, they are totally worth it! I love their unique look-rough, yet wearable with skirts, pants or jeans. When I first got them they were a bit stiff, but as time goes on they seem to get more pliable. They fit pretty true to size-HARD to get on and off at times, but feel great when on. I have to wear thicker socks so the heel doesn't slip. I can wear all day and they don't hurt.

At last! I've been craving a pair of Frye boots for a long time. I tried other styles, but until the 12R W Engineer boots, I just couldn't find any that fit me just right. These are perfect! They fit great, look great, and above all...they feel great! Zappos is the best sources for shoes a girl could ask for. Great selection, and service.

Frye's Engineer 12R W - Great boot! A little hard to get on at first but gets easier. Comfortable enough at first wearing to keep on for hours. Very happy with this one!

Love them! A classic that will last forever. Still made in USA! I had no trouble putting them on, and walked 3 miles in them that first day with no issues.

Frye Boots are great - More comfortable than it looks given how stiff the outer leather appears. The strategy of leaving socks dangling and letting them slip on as you place your foot in the boot was a great suggestion. No zippers but relatively easy and quick to slip in and out of. I love them.

Love my new Boots! While I wouldn't say that these are a 1/2 size larger or wider than "true to size", I'd definitely say they're slightly larger, and slightly wider.

Frye Engineer 12R W Boot - Love my new Frye Engineer Boots. I haven't been out on my motorcycle yet to try them out, but I love the way they look. Some break-in time still needed after a month, but I can't complain. Will rate 5 Stars in comfort when I get them broke in. MADE IN THE USA! Keep America Working, People!

I live in the snow and these boots are great! Stylish, water resistant, and comfortable enough to wear all day.

Sock trick - I love these boots and they feel good once you get them on, but they are tough to get on. I've found a sock trick that helps. Don't put your sock on all the way... have the sock hanging off your toes about 3 or 4 inches and then put the boot on. Your foot slides against the sock easier and the sock gets pulled on by the boot. Can't think of a better way to describe this. It's the opposite of what happens when you take the boot off. Your sock gets pulled partially off when you pull the boot off. That aside, AWESOME boots.

These boots are beautifully constructed. They are a little stiff fresh out of the box, but don’t' have that brand new look. I look forward to years of wearing this classic style. You can always count on Frye for quality.

What I ordered - Great purchase. Was nervous to buy shoes online first time, but they are exactly what I expected. Took a few days to break them in, esp on the shin. Now they are good. Comfortable and easy to wear for long periods of time. Very happy with my purchase!
