I already have the 12R's and love them to pieces, but I have always wanted the 8R's, so I finally purchased them and they are just as fabulous as the 12R's. I bought the gaucho color, they fit the bill. I love both pair for different reasons. But I do wear a lot of dresses and both look great with them. The next thing I want a different color of the 8R's. The 8R's feel heavier than the 12R's but the reason could be because my 12R's are the anniversary pair that the top of the boot has the American flag. Without a doubt the construction of Frye boots are the greatest. Both pair will last a lifetime even if I wore them everyday. Thanks Frye for making awesome boots & quality!!!!!

I loved these boots 14 years ago when I bought them and still love them! So cute with about everything but especially dresses. I think they've darkened a little due to oils I put to keep leather nice but like the look. Always have people ask where I got them... I really want the black ones and will probably splurge since I know they'll last.

I've had the same boots for 5 years and wear them ALOT and they barely show any wear. I have shorter legs and my calves aren't small, these fit amazing and I still have room, which is a big deal for me! I love these boots!!!

Bought these a few weeks ago and I love them. I purchased the charcoal color and I'm very happy I did, the color looks good with any outfit. I definitely plan on purchasing the Engineer 12R also.

I got the Frye Egineer 8Rs for Christmas 2 years ago. I wear them all the time, rain or shine. They look amazing, and are very comfortable. They're heavy and take a couple of wears to get used to, but are totally worth it. They're still in great shape; they've been a bit scuffed up but it adds character. I use leather conditioner on them every now and then to take care of them.

I wore these boots for the first time today. I was on my feet quite a bit and walking on concrete. After wearing them for 9+ hours my feet were as comfortable as when I first put them on! No break in period needed! I have been wearing Frye boots for over 40 years and I remain a faithful customer having a dozen or so boots currently in my collection. As always, I can order my normal size, 10m, and know that they will fit perfectly. Thank you for offering a "Made in the USA" selection - I like to support our craftspeople.

I actually like them poking out of my straight leg jeans when I sit down. My mother has the 12R which she loves, but now she wants the 8R too! I highly recommend them!

Runs true to size. They get a softer feel to them every time I wear them and feel like you are not even wearing boots!

I bought these boots a couple of months ago and couldn't be happier. I already own them in the charcoal and dark brown but also loved the gaucho. Beautiful boots that wear even better!

I bought a 6 1/2 (typical shoe size), but felt they were a bit to tight (socks seemed impossible), so went to 7 and fit great. Meld to foot shape which is nice, so comfy. Color was fairly light brown but will darken, leather nice quality. Very top on back of boot (loop/tab) has thread that is scratchy, first pair was unwearable due to constant scratching in same place, these are ok, which is only negative I've found.
