I purchased the Frye Harness 8R boot. The color I selected was the Charcoal Old Town. This boot wears well with a suit. I sported my boots with my suite to an event and received several compliments. I also wear my boots to complement my jeans. If you are concerned with the size, the boots are true to size. However, you should wear thin cotton socks. I wear a size 10 shoe. I purchased a size 10 1/2 boot. The boot is not a slip on. You need to use the side loops to pull your foot through. Once on, you will walk with style in a well-crafted boot by Frye. I use my boot while riding my motorcycle. I plan to get another pair to dedicate as my fashion pair. My Frye boots are comfortable and sporty.

These are awesome boots! I read reviews and decided to order a full size smaller then what I normally wear and yep, that was big mistake. For me these boots were a true size fit; so if you wear a 10, order a 10. I really love the aging these boots obtain as you wear them. In short, these are amazing boots.

Buy these boots... Seriously. Just do it. First off, I have never been a boot guy, but I saw these in a department store last year and fell in love with them. I'm not exactly rich, so I had to wait patiently for an occasion that would justify the price tag. Thankfully that day came and I ordered a size 10.5 from another vendor since Zappos didn't have that size. I wear 10.5 sneakers, but when the boots arrived, they definitely felt too big, so I returned them and went with the size 10 pair from Zappos. Having worn them for a few weeks now, I realize that I should have gone down another half size to the 9.5s. As I broke them in, they loosened up a little. I still love the pair I have and am comfortable enough with a half size too big, but would suggest going a full size down from your sneaker size. Having worn them for a while now, I'd recommend them to anyone without hesitation. They are surprisingly comfortable given their rugged look and as far as style, I've gotten more compliments than I can remember. Bottom line - they're one awesome pair of boots.

Best service ever. Period. Most helpful staff. Period. Great return policy. Not one single problem. Had to return boots because I have a high arch. One boot fit the other was too tight getting on. They sent another pair and between the two pair I got two that fit perfect. Great company.

Great looking boots, just too big by one full size for me. I will go to Macy's tomorrow to try on different sizes and reorder with you unless of course they have them on sale, which I think they do.

This is a very nice and stylish boot. When I try to look pretty riding my motorcycle, I ware my boots. This boot also works well in a suite; many presentations dressed were given with my boots on. If you buy this boot, be sure to buy grey and black shoe polish. The two tone colors really bring out a real nice look. I must say wow! These boots look good.

I've always worn boots and I heard great things about Frye, but they are pricey. I have to say though I'm very glad I went ahead and spent the money, these are great boots. I got the dark brown old town and love the look. Several girls have noticed them and complimented me, so Bonus points to Frye for that. Using Zappos was easy and they shipped pretty fast.

I love these boots! These are the best boots I've ever owned, and I will probably wear these boots as long as they make them! I've got it in the Dark Brown Old Town and also in the chocolate vintage. The Old Town is a little more matte in surface, and the vintage chocolate has a little bit more of a natural shine. I live in a snow ridden area so the rubber sole (as opposed to the leather sole) is perfect for a rougher outdoorsy usage. It takes about a week to break in the boot and I found that the Dark Brown Old Town breaks in a lot easier than the vintage chocolate color. Great boots!

I originally bought these in a 9 and had to return for an 8.5. Unfortunately, the 8.5 was out of stock. I called and customer service said that the size / color would be restocked in about 2-3 weeks. Zappos emailed me about 1 week later saying they were available. Unsurpassed customer service - and of course they shipped overnight! These boots are really comfortable and required no break-in. I've worn them every day since I received them (about about 4-6 miles walking each day) with no problems. The redwood color is great - they go with everything including jeans, slacks, etc. These are worth every penny and made in the U.S. I highly recommend.

These boots are awesome. Love the charcoal color. It gives the boots a slightly distressed look. They were a gift for my son. He put them on immediately and wore them all night. I have purchased Frye boots in the past and the quality stays the same.

Fantastic classy boot. Not too over the top, they're a little tough to pull on, ya kind of have to work for it. Also the insole would hurt my feet quite a bit after standing or walking in these, but I got a gel insole to put in these bad boys and it made a world of difference. Very well crafted boot. If you have the cash you won't be disappointed.

I play in a country/rock band and the look of these boots kill. I'm on me feet 4-6 hours per gig, and they feel as good or better as any other boot I've tried. You can't play basketball in any cowboy boots, but these won't destroy your feet like cheaper boots can.

These are great boots, super comfortable. I went through a few other boots before finding these. I tried a few different sizes given others' suggestions. This one true to size. The heel lifted up when walking, a half size higher, so if this happens to you get a half size smaller. The heel should not lift up, unlike what some of these posts say. If it does, the boot is too large. Putting the boot on is a bit of a struggle, for just a few seconds, but once it is on it is terrific on both feet. Highly recommended!

Boots are great, but, more importantly, customer service was exceptional. These were a gift and needed to be exchanged for another size. I anticipated a hassle, but it was simple, easy and timely.

These are excellent shoes. They are super comfy and stylish! They don't run as big as others suggested. These are very true to my normal street shoe size.

This is a very well made boot. The leather is of a very high quality and the construction seems like these are made for years of wear. Many people have said to order them a half size small but from my experience I do not agree with this. I did this and they are right on the line of being too tight. I did not send them back and have opted to wear them every day. After nearly a month of wear they have broken in but still are a touch tight. This could be because they are such a sturdy shoe but the next time I will order my regular size.

Masculine Poetic, to boot! I originally ordered these a half size smaller, as suggested by other reviewers. When they arrived and I tried them on (it's true you must struggle to slip your foot in the first few tries), I realized that though my foot fit nicely in the boot, my heel wasn't snug. So I ordered the next half size down (which is 1 size lower than what I normally wear). My heel still moved in the boot. So I called Frye to ask if this was normal. They told me it was. So I've been wearing these boots since, and I am loving it up. If you're worried about them looking clunky, they're not. They are deft and wonderfully crafted. The leather is like butter. I recommend this Frye boot to anyone... Zappos is one of the true great companies out there. Hats off.

Great Shoe get a size lower than normal - I normally where an 11. I had to return the 11's for a 10 1/2. They are narrower at first but widen within a couple of days. They are great boots.

Fantastic piece of footwear - These boots are great. Not only are they really comfortable, they are also very good looking. I have gotten several compliments on them. They are, without a doubt, my favorite pair of shoes. I highly suggest these boots to anyone and everyone.

Frye Harness-Great! I am very skeptical about ordering on line. That said, I could not be more satisfied with my new harness boots, and the service I received from Zappos.
