Very disappointed as I really liked the look of these shoes. New Balance used to be consistent with sizing, but not with this style. Tried usual size, 7 1/2W, way too big. 7w still too big, 6 1/2w too short. Tried putting in a thicker insole and not work. For the price would like a good fitting pair of shoes, so all sent back.

I am looking for a shoe that can be used with custom orthotics. These New Balance shoes were recommended by the professional who fabricated the arch support orthotics. I had high hopes that these would feel great, but they are heavy and very stiff. There is little give to the sole of this shoe. They are too uncomfortable to keep. They are going back.
I'd also recommend:
Nike, Asics.

I loved the style and ordered 2 sizes. The size 9 is a little big but the size 81/2 shoe was too small on one foot with the thicker fall socks I wear so I am returning them. One complaint is: I received these shoes in a broken shoe box in a paper bag mailing envelope.

The fit and size were smaller than I expected based on my previous purchases of New Balance 928v3 shoes.

The shoe width was more narrow than other 928v3 New Balance shoes I have purchased before and had a "chunkier" feel on my feet.

1) The Grey/Grey color I ordered was mainly Beige with Grey trim. 2) Shoe was too heavy, 3) Shoe was very stiff.

I'm required to wear shoes with leather uppers for work. This was my first pair of New Balance and I returned them. The shoe was all around too tight and the heel cup was too shallow. Lengthwise they were fine, but the toe box was very narrow. I didn't bother reordering a wide as I didn't care for how low they sat on my ankle. I wear Protalus Orthotics since I walk upward of 32k steps at work. It's important for me to feel secure that my foot is inside the shoe and not walking on top of it.

This was my first pair of New Balance and I won't be ordering them again. I returned this pair for being all around too tight. I didn't bother reordering in a wide since I didn't care for how shallow the heel cup was. I wear Protalus Orthotics in my shoes as I walk upward of 32k steps at work. Not only was the shoe tight on my foot around the footbed but wearing a regular sock made it feel like I was walking on top of the shoe due to the shallowness. Due of the nature of my job, I need to feel like my foot is securely INSIDE the shoe.

Shoe was okay. No where near as comfortable in the arch as Saucony (I put my own arch supports in both shoes). Unfortunately Saucony has been making their shoes narrower.

This shoe seemed so tight in the width, and I compared the appearance of the top stitching to my other pairs of this model and the shoes I am returning seemed more pointed. I love this model for the support I have when I apply my inserts and will order again soon to see if this is how they are made now.

Too short in length. My foot felt like it was right up against the front of the toe box.

I really liked how the shoes looked (clean, simple style, beige color). But I did not like how they FELT on my feet: they felt tight, no matter how much I loosened the laces. After about half an hour of wearing them around the house, my feet started to feel numb. I did not want to risk trying to "break them in" and be stuck with uncomfortable shoes, especially at their price. I had to return them.

The blue suede was great. Please make something like that again!

New Balance has always "been there" for people with narrow feet. No more. I wear an 8 2A with NB and have for 40 years so I know what NB can do and has done. I actually have this shoe in an earlier version albeit worn out. This version of the 928 and the 857 2A that I returned and have also worn for thirty years are nothing close to a narrow width. The toe box is too wide and to make it tighter you have to buckle the instep. The heel is more akin to that found in a B width. The sole is SO STIFF that it is not conducive to a comfortable walk as it doesn't bend with the walking gait. As it forces a different gait, hips and knees begin to hurt. I do not, nor cannot, recommend this version of the 928v3.
I'd also recommend:
There's nothing to recommend as there are no narrow shoes any longer

Ordered my normal size but my foot slid all over in them. Couldn't get them tight enough.

I own a pair of 840 in 8D. They are just wide enough and are super bouncy . These 829 say that they have the same sort of walking sole but they don't. The sole is very very hard and not shock absorbing. I bought them because they are leather with just one row of small aeration holes on top. I thought it would be perfect for winter walking and keep feet dry. But the sole is too uncomfortable for any walking for me. Very disappointed that they advertise these shoes saying that they absorb shock. They don't.
I wish the 840 came in a hiking style. That would have been best.

Color was mislabeled; product is not grey but tan. Uncomfortable by shoe lace seams on both feet. Regret that I purchased.

This could be a great shoe but it has a major flaw. The tongue is way too short and too narrow. Impossible to wear. Tongue slides under laces and causes pain on top of foot. Major design flaw for an otherwise good shoe. But what good is it if the tongue is uncomfortable and a constant irritation? It makes you want to rip the shoes off your feet just to get some relief!
Disappointed,

A fairly good-looking shoe; all leather; but a waste of money. Shoe is not up to New Balace standards. No support! Heel portion is lower than the toe. Very uncomfortable and I anticipate, painful, if worn a long time. Any shoe that puts stress on the achilles tendon WILL BE PAINFUL....eventually.

Shortages of almost every product in this country. I desperately need these to be available. Have worn blue suede for many years now. Only shoe that works for me. Quality in question? Disapointing.

I ordered these shoes with an idea of theor look and was disappointed from the beginning. The write up about them said they are grey: they are bone color, not gray at all.
I ordered the size that should have fit but didn't. They were too narrow.
I know they are well made, because NB shoes are-- but they didn't work for me, and I had to return them.

Shoes are not deep enough to wear with custom orthotics. Heel cup was too low and the forefoot was too narrow once orthotics were substituted for the prefab insert that came with the shoe.

The ones I've worn for years were perfect but now they are being made in another country the fit, comfort and quality are just not there!! Oh why did y'all change such a perfect shoe? I need the older one for my feet problems!
