If you have a high in-step, order up a size. Other than that, great boot and will definitely become a staple in my wardrobe!

Another great Birkenstock/Papilio product. So comfortable. A little tight in the calf/ankle, but expect stretching. Some people said it was difficult to get on because there isn't a zipper, but there is!

The shoes is comfortable when I tried it around the house. It has the Birkenstock look which is ok. I'm returning the shoes because the top is on the skin side and it hits right at my old fracture spot, which creates irritation.

These fit great on my feet. Birenstocks always feel good on my feet and I was so glad to find a Birk bootie. I wore these to work for a full day, assuming they'd be great since they felt so good when I first put them on. However, by the end of the day I had cuts around my ankles from the top stiff edge of the boot. Disappointed but not ready to give up on them, I left my skin heal for about a week and tried again with socks. I didn't get cuts this time but my ankles still hurt. I have arch issues but I do not have thick ankles and I am genuinely disappointed that these aren't working for me. They're cute and I did not have any issues getting them on/off as other reviewers have said. The zippers are great. I think they are going to have to go back.

Awesome Style & very comfortable (I found them just as easy to get on & off as any other boot, but if you have thicker ankles, this could be a miss as others have mentioned), sizing is suprisingly at least 1/2 size smaller than expected - so I returned. I wish they had worked for me, but since they were at least a 1/2 size too small in the 42, I decided against them. In a closed toe shoe, I wear about an 11. All my Danskos are 41 in open toe & 42 (with plenty of room for a winter sock) in a closed toe. In this Birk shoe, the arch support wasn't enough for me. when I put one of my arch support inserts in, then my foot aligned to fit better, but not quite enough to keep them. As another reviewer mentioned, she sized up in this closed toe style from her usual birk open toe size. There is not a 43 which I have never had wear in any european sized brand, so I do find this particular situation unusual & surprising coming from Birkenstock which has always seems generous in their sizing. This 42 fits me more like a 10.5 at best, with inadequate arch support, despite Birkenstock touting the great support their footbed provides. In a wedge/heel, I believe the support needs to be more. So if you wear a 42 in Danskos, or 10.5-11 in Stewart Weitzman, Keens, or any other shoe, this shoe could be hit or miss for you.

I was excited to actually buy a 5.5 narrow in what I thought would be a sure thing. However, I had to change out the insoles for a couple different ones to make them comfortable. The left Papillio insole divider hit the ball of my foot and really hurt. And with my own insoles after about thirty minutes of walking around the house, my toes fell a sleep. I hope there are a lot of small footed ladies out there that can make this a popular enough shoe that Birkenstock will continue to offer small sizes. Beautiful boot.

Shape and height of the wedge not good for my back or metetarsil footpad

I wanted to make these work . They look perfect but I couldn’t get my feet in . Seriously it was comical. They looks beautiful and would be great for dressing up a bit without being too dressy . Just need a better zipper or something to be able to get them on.

I wanted to love these shoes, but they were too hard to get on and off. Once on they were great but I couldn't deal with the struggle! I have really high arches, so likely that was part of the problem.

I love the shoe. The width was too large for me.

Very comfortable but difficult to get on. Once on, you can keep them on forever. I discovered wearing thin nylon socks makes it easy to get the boots on. The cuffs are hard when sitting but thin socks help and/or shoe spray softened and stretched it out. A 4 star because of difficulty in putting on. Perhaps this can be fixed. Thin ankles will have no problem. Thank you Zappos!

I really love these boots. Great high quality leather and great style. But the ankle opening is far too narrow. I have no problem getting them on and the footbed is very comfortable but I can’t zip them up. Sizing up would not fix this issue. Sadly these won’t work for me and I have to return.

I wear a US size 71/2 or 8 and these fit perfectly in an EU SIZE 38. I really want to love these shoes, but the top of the shoe around the leg literally rubbed my skin raw and I have relatively average size ankles/lower legs. The footbed felt great and the height of the platform felt perfect (I never wear heels). I’m hoping with wear and time, the leather will loosen and they will stop rubbing my skin off, because everything about this shoe, except that, is perfect! I can’t be the only one who experienced this. I can’t figure out why no one else mentioned this in their review.

Having a double e width and needing a square toe box, I have been looking for "all day shoes" for years. Birkenstock sandals size 40 fit me great, but the wider width is what I wear, and these are "narrow". I CAN wear them all day! They have good support and are just wide enough for my feet. They are hard to get on, however this does get easier as they wear in. My main concern is the bruising around my ankle due to the boot, and I have very average size ankles. I am wrapping with an ace bandage and hope SO MUCH that they will break in. I will NOT, however, wear my other new pair until I can feel 100% sure, as $200 is a lot of money for me, and now I cannot return the pair that I have worn.

Too small, couldn’t get boot on my left foot (has never happened before). I wear a 38 in Birkenstock sandals, thought a 39 would work for boots without socks but no luck, due to the small opening. My right foot felt like I was in a smooth leather slipper, like heaven! Now to find a size 40 somewhere else since Zappos doesn’t have it in stock.

Overall, the boot fit well and felt comfortable. It was, however, a little difficult to get on even thought there is a zipper. I had to use a shoehorn.

Once on the foot, these are comfortable. They are not easy to get on and off. I am debating on keeping them trusting that the leather will stretch a bit once I start wearing them.

These are super cute and I love the similar Mary Jane styled sandals....these were too tight in the ankle. The foot area felt perfect, but the ankle area was too tight for me. Sadly, they have to go back.

Close, but not $200 close. They just don’t fit me comfortably enough to keep. I’m sorry to return yet another pair of shoes. I’m a difficult 11 N with a high arch, and finding something can wear for more than an hour is becoming increasingly difficult. I’ve kept many I shouldn’t have. These are nice boots, but a bit too chunky and I really wanted smooth leather.

I normally wear a 37 in Birkenstock sandals, but I had to return these and ultimately bought a 39. These boots in a 37 looked tiny so I ordered a 38 which were still too small. The 39s fit much better, but they seem a bit narrow. However, I have a bunion so maybe this is the reason. The smaller sizes were crazy hard to get on, but the 39s were far easier. The platform heel is a compromise between flat shoes and a higher heel. The aforementioned bunion makes any shoe with a heel difficult for me to wear. I'm not positive I can wear these all day to work, but I believe I can stand them for shorter periods of time. The main reason I kept them is because the current wider leg style in pants require a higher heel to keep them from dragging the ground.

Fit, size and material were all great. The height of the wedge was a problem for my lower back. They are also not good for metetarsil footpad

These were super comfortable like all Papillo shoes except for being way to tight around the ankles. Sadly they had to be returned.

Definitely ran small and was tight around the ankles. Wish it had a more pointed or almond shaped toe for a more professional look

I really like the look of these boots, however the top was uncomfortable on my shin.
