Cushioning felt good, but the shoe rubbed against ankle bone on outside.

I just went with 4 stars because, to me, the shoes are "fine", but not outstanding. They fit well and certainly serve my purposes! And these are certainly competitively-priced Nikes.

Great shoe!! I have bought a pair every year for the past 6yrs (sometimes twice) compare to other brands nothing comes close to the arch support and that why I continually buy the monarchs and yes they are noisy most likely due to amount of tread, but I can live with for the support. But lets make one thing clear for the price go for it! The greatest fit will always belong to the Air Jordan's Mike wore as part of the dream team, there has never been a better sneaker made in my opinion and that is why the expense.

Not bad,very comfortable

This is alright shoe. Not one of my favorite pair of Nike's that I have ever bought but not bad enough to return them. It's a clunky shoe that has great support and performs like a Nike.

I have owned 3 pairs of Nike Air Monarch IV's and in general I have had good luck with them. They are comfortable on my feet, when I usually find that shoes pinch my 'ring' toes, which is rare to find. For my work I am on my feet for 9 hours a day, and typically walk 10-12 miles each day. The I do not suffer from foot pain wearing these like I did when I used to wear other tennis/trainers. They typically last me around 6 months of use, or around 1,400 miles before I have to replace them. On one pair I owned, the rubber traction sole on the bottom was not properly glued on, so after about 200 miles it started squeaking. This was fixed easily with some strong adhesive.

Seems like a good show so far. It is a bit small but perhaps it will give a bit as I wear it more.

I have had the Nike Air Monarch shoe a couple of times before and like that there is plenty of room for my toes. I have large feet (14) and these are one of the few models that actually feel comfortable from the start. They take a little breaking in, but in a couple of weeks they feel like old friends.

Its very difficult to find shoes in stores that will fit my sons size 15 foot. My go to is Zappos.com they always have a large selection to choose from and a variety of style,and prices.

I have bought two pairs of these and they are a solid, functional shoe. I actually prefer true running shoes for casual outings, but I always wear a hole through the mesh of running shoes from my left big toe. (I have funky feet). Anyway the Monarch uppers are leather and don't wear through like mesh. The shoes are comfortable and look nice enough to wear for any casual event. The price is quite reasonable as well. They are a bit heavier than running shoes but not so much that it's noticeable. For $55 you can't go too wrong.

I ordered a 6.5XW felt they were too big so I ordered a 6XW. The 6XW was about 3/4 of an inch narrower in width which ended up being way too small Why would that be?

Quick shipping. The shoe could use a little less padding on the back of the ankle but good overall.

I have one other pair in white/silver, this color white/black is smaller than white/silver. I also have an old pair in white/black it's also smaller than white/silver. I ware thin socks and it's OK. I put a lot of miles on these shoes walking. Not as nice as older pair.I still ware the worn white and silver for working around the ranch. I noticed the old pair feel a lot better than the new ones.

Nike has always run short and narrow for me, and the Air Monarch is no exception. I have narrow feet, so the narrow part is no problem, but I have to order a 15 for a 14 foot. Also, the heel is a bit high for my taste, and is taking some getting used to.

Great shoe for the price, but makes a lot of noise in the sole of the shoe while walking. Great service from Zappos as always! 5 stars for Zappos.

Zappos is truly above all the rest! Your customer service and ease of shopping is the best out there! I bought shoes for my husband that he didn't wear for over a year until we went on a 3 week cruise vacation. They squeaked every time he took a step which became quite embarrassing. A call to Zappos and he had a new pair the very next day!

These are the worst shoes ever! They squeak! I have tried three pairs and they all make noise! I will never ever order these again!

The reviews all said they were true to size I wear an 8 in all my other shoes so I ordered an 8. I had to return and get a 9. The service was good! I really like the shoes!

I love these shoes. I know people complain about the squeak. For all of you, pull up the inside sole near the back and dump some powder in there and you will be squeak free. The powder will stop the squeak. You may have to do it again in 6 months but this does work. Great comfortable shoes and now stealthy!

I have used these shoes for basketball and working out. They are comfortable (not the best that Nike offers) and are very stable shoes. They are a good product for the price.

These shoes are fine. Nothing special, but they get my hubby through an eight-hour retail shift. They are noisy to walk in, but are otherwise pretty comfortable.

Just put them on. Look good, seem comfortable. Attractive shoe.

1st time customer, thought that I'd give Zappos a try because I was too busy at the time to go to stores. I used to wear the Air Monarchs years ago but figured that I'd give New Balance (model 409) a try (I was told that they were the last American made shoes). The 1st pair was great, but the quality kept decreasing- tread separation with the 2nd pair, tread separation and and lack of breathability with the 3rd. So I decided to go back to Nike. When the shoes first arrived several months ago, I tried them on. They were rather tight (narrow). I wore them around the house for a few days. They stretched a bit and now fit just right. They are the lightest shoes that I've ever owned. And they are pretty comfortable, even on mile long walks. I'm not sure why there are comments about the squeaking, never been an issue for me on smooth floors.

This is my first Zappos order, but I had heard good things. This is the third pair of air monarchs I've owned, so I pretty much knew what I was getting. My foot runs a bit wide, so I ordered the extra wide. Turns out they were too wide,so I decided to return them. I went through the return process but didn't get around to shipping them until several days later. To my surprise, the next day, less than 24 hours later, I had a new pair of shoes! Zappos is great! As far as the shoes go, if you like a shoe that wears a bit wide and holds up very well, I would recommend these. I've worn them daily for over a year and the only thing worn out is the soles. Everything else is in good shape and I will still wear them as beat around work shoes.
