Twenty years ago, I bought a pair of "sneakers," due to some foot issues. I didn't pay any attention, other than the podiatrist suggested something along the likes of Nike. I bought the shoes, they were fine, my feet felt better and I never paid attention after that. Last year, the shoes finally started falling apart, so I figured I'd buy them again. The problem is I have no idea what I bought! They said Nike, and I noticed a faded "Air." At first I went to a local shoe store. They measured my foot, so I now knew exactly my size. But they didn't have any kind of arch support shoes. Trying on their limited supply of various brands, I "discovered" the Nikes had arch support. I went to a different store, and although they had some Nike shoes with arch support, they ALL were in "Wide" sizes. Then I remembered Zappo's. Fortunately, I knew my shoe size pretty exactly. And I'd had the chance to try different shoes slightly smaller or slightly larger. My size is definitely a 9 Medium. If I hadn't known that, I wonder if I'd have had as easy an experience online. Either way, I also had the existing shoes. I was able to compare pictures, and I see that there have been numerous changes to the Nike "Air" sneakers. Holy Smokes! Not easy to find "my" shoes! Eventually, I found something pretty close. I figured I'd give it a shot, knowing I likely could return the shoes if they didn't fit. in fact, they're as close as I think I can find to the original shoes from 20 years ago. Slightly different, but only very slight. They feel good, fit well, and vaguely remind me of how "odd" the new shoes felt, all those years ago. My main recommendation for shopping online is to know your shoe size! That means having someone measure your foot. Somehow. We still have some shoe stores around, and so that's not so hard to accomplish. But if you don't know your shoe size, it can be seriously confusing trying to buy shoes online with such a massive number of choices and options. If you DO know that size, then it's quite fun, and the prices are very good.

Bought to replace earlier pair that use to walk 4-6 miles a day. I find them very comfortable with a wide enough toe box to fit my bunion. The squeak from the earlier pair is gone-

exactly as expected. I buy 2 to 3 pairs of this shoe every year. White for summer ,,, black for winter..No surprises. Good value for the money

If you have a narrow or average narrow foot, these sneakers will feel a little bit wide, and your foot will feel too free in these sneakers. Maybe I should have bought them half a size smaller than my usual size, but I’m not sure.

Fit and size was true to what I ordered. Love them!

Well made --this is my 2nd pair --the others are wearing out after many walking miles. The toe wrap started to un glue on my old ones(re glued and that fixed it) -very good build other than that. Comfortable after installing thicker insoles.

How to address squeaking: Right up front, when they start to squeak - and they will - just remove the insole and add a good amount of powder. Replace the insole (or replace with a better 3rd party version like Dr. Scholls), and walk around for a bit to work the powder into the interior of the sole. You will be squeak-free for weeks or even months. Repeat whenever the squeaking crops up, and you're golden. I've been wearing Air Monarch IV's as my go-to shoe for at least 12 years. A pair usually lasts around 3-4 years before they wear out or experience separation somewhere between the upper and the sole. They are extremely comfortable, and with a really nice gel insole replacement, they are even more comfortable. I can't recommend them enough, and am just so happy they're still making them after all these years. One other caveat: The shoelaces will wear out within a year or two and need to be replaced. They usually snap while tying at some point, so just be prepared.

Purchased these very basic all black shoes for work. I needed something with a solid toe and they couldn’t contain any mesh due to my line of work. They’re pretty comfortable and offer decent arch support. The only issue I have with these shoes is they are annoyingly noisy. They squeak so bad and make so much noise when you move in them. They are definitely not deserving of the title sneakers. Other than the annoying sounds they make, the shoe is pretty good. The price could be a bit lower on such a basic squeaky shoe as well.

Very good sneaker! The only complaint is these black shoelaces are thin compared to the same shoe in white. (those laces were thicker) One other comment. the back arch/heel support always wears out first on Air Monarch lV's . (hole which creates blisters)

These are Dad shoes plain and simple. As long as you don’t wear long socks with them you won’t look like an old man (no offense). I’m a dad in my early thirties and I wear the black blue and white pair. These felt a smidge tight in the toe until I wore them in for a couple hours. Now they are super comfortable. I’m on my feet 10 hours plus and these shoes feel great. I usually wear an 11.5 in sneakers, but had to go up to a 12.

How hard can it possibly be to make a shoe true to size? Apparently beyond the capability of Nike (and others). I’ve always worn 10.5 but these are way too short in length and a bit snug in width. I’ll try size 11 because I’ve always liked these shoes for walking. But really, it just shouldn’t be this difficult to get the right fit. BTW Zappos customer service is excellent.

I find myself coming back to these time and time again. I've bought others and alternate shoes but these I keep ordering when they wear out which is about 2 to 3 years.

I love these shoes..I am on my feet all day and air Monarchs are comfortable right out of the box.There is no break in period and they last approx 3 months at 50 hours per week. Try to avoid getting them wet, the shoes will quickly seperate from the soles.

I use these for walking. I walk 5 miles and these shoes are very comfortable. They have plenty of cushion and fit and feel really good. This is my third pair. I have been wearing these for walking for over 5 years and I walk 5 miles, 3 days a week. The look is white leather with dark blue trim.

I wear a boots for work until near wore out. That's why, I ordered early instead wait for next month of May 2020.

"Please Note: Width is only printed on the shoebox. The width does not appear on the physical item." I'm not sure why this detail is listed on this website because I've had several pair of these. Every pair has had the size on the shoes... it is on the bottom side of the tongue where the product/item # and sizes are. Every one of these Monarchs has said 10.5W... The W means Wide Width aka 4E.

4th pair of these. Glad they are still making them! My feet sweat a lot in most shoes, but especially these! Yet I still wear these shoes because of how comfortable they are aside from the lack of breath ability. Feels like a soft cushion surrounding the sides of your feet making them extremely comfortable, but also very warm. Squeaky as heck like others have said! They last a long time through rough use too. Great price for such a long lasting, very comfortable, cool looking shoe!

this sneaker is one of the best i found for outside racquetball, they last several months and is very comfortable. outside courts are concrete and they eat up sneakers fast.

Nike needs to figure out that a size 15 is a 15! They are of the normal excellent quality and likely fits someone with a foot smaller than a 15. I’m going to return these as I just don’t feel comfortable with my toes cramped into the narrow toe box.

Basic comfy low top sneaker. Feels a bit small. I am a size 14 1/2 and these size 15 are comfortable snug. Seems like Nike runs a half size small. On my fourth pair in about 7 years. Will buy again in the future.

Shoe was discotinued finally found it on here. Fit was good and delivery was as promised. On top of it all they were discounted cheaper than could find them elsewhere. Happy with my purchase will buy from here again

Overall the shoe felt a bit tight , I thought it would feel better after breaking in but it didn’t. I should have taken advantage of Zappos great return policy. In the future I know better now
