SQUEEKY!! These shoes used to be my favorite but I have since switched to New Balance because of the loud squeeking noise. It is VERY annoying! Wish NIKE would do something about this but apparently the right people aren't noticing how often the issue appears in reviews all over the internet.

Zappos is great. Good prices and FREE Shipping. This is the best shoe for someone who needs a really wide width! These shoes put in lots of miles! I've been wearing them in my Lawn business for years.

I'm a camera guy so I need a shoe that can fly under the radar when I'm on set. I'm on my feet 8, 9, 10, 11, even 12 hours a day so also needed a shoe with great comfort and support. I was a little apprehensive about the notorious 'monarch squeak' since I need to move like a ninja on set, but other reviewers recommendation of baby powder in the insole worked, perfectly. These puppies get the job done and my dogs are never barking.

My feet are just plain hard to fit. 3E-4E width and flat (maybe flatter) than a pancake. These Nikes fit my feet like calfskin gloves and feel about the same way they do too. Thanks, Zappos, and Nike!

I have used Zappos for years. My husband wears a 15 size shoe, finding anything in his size is difficult. Zappos has always had great selection, and great prices! Shipping is always fast, and when I have had any questions, customer service has been beyond excellent! Loyal customer for life!

A great shoe for the hard to find foot. I put them on and felt like I was floating on a cloud. Super. I am in love again with walking.

Third pair of these shoes are on the way. These are very comfortable shoes from the start, with no break in necessary. They really are pillows for your feet, and a solid outsole and lasts are substantial (hard to find these days). Some complain about shoe squeaking, which each of my prior two pairs did in one or both shoes. Easy solution is to reach inside to the toe edge of the footbed (glued in) and pull the footbed half way off, separating the footbed from insole and leaving the heel half attached. Then, a little foot powder to reduce friction -- good to go for a long time.

This is my third pair of this model. What I like about it is the durability. Almost all leather, it lasts longer than my other Nikes that are cloth.

Very comfortable but noisy! Fix for noise is talcum powder. Take out inner sole and dust liberally with talcum powder - shake out excess - squeak gone!

The most comfortable Nike shoes I've ever worn. I've bought myself and my family members at least 12 pairs of these in the last 10 years. True to size. Very durable.

These Nike Air Monarch IV are my second pair. My first pair lasted several years and they were my daily Gym and casual sneakers. Took them with me to every Cruises and so I was happy to find a new pair via Zappos! No break in needed and been wearing them since they arrived. Happy camper!

I've been wearing this Nike for many years in different colors, so I was happy to see this new color at Zappos. These men's shoes fit wider womens' feet very, very comfortably. They make great walking shoes and normally last a year plus, even with daily use.

Yeah, they squeak. But take out the insole sprinkle in a little baby powder and POOF! No more squeak! Even 8 months later.

I have owned numerous pairs of these comfortable fitting shoes. All squeaked after a couple of weeks. I decided to contact Nike directly about the issue. They said they needed to do tests on the shoes and would provide a refund if they were defective. So I suggest to all, if you love the shoes but they squeak, send them directly to Nike. Perhaps if they get enough of them in the mail they will realize there is a flaw and correct it. I love the shoes but the noise if irritating.

I love the shoes but experience the same annoying squeaking problem that everyone else does. And the right white shoe (only the right one) is turning blue. How do white leather shoes turn blue? But the shoes are very comfortable, just the right width and have been very durable so I put up with the problems. Nike -- can you please fix and you'll have the perfect shoe!

The best shoe for the money, even better than most double the price. Nike never change this shoe, you perfected it here.

I love this shoe. I use it for work. I work in a kitchen so it's actually not good for such a job because it is no way slip resistant, but very comfortable. Which is most important to me since I'm on my feet all day. I am actually on my 4th pair of Monarch's and will keep buying them for work until Nike stops making them. If they were slip resistant, they'd be perfect. I have a wider foot so it's hard to find a good work shoe that comes in extra wide that is also slip resistant and comfortable enough to get through the day.

Just when you find a shoe that fits well it's gone. They even fixed that annoying squeak. Oh well, the search for a comfortable work shoe goes on.

This is a beautiful Nike shoe. But there is a problem. I've had several pairs over the years. Often (too often) the right shoe start to squeak loudly a week after you start wearing it. Zappos is great and stands by their shoes. But you're better off with a different Nike product.

I have not worn enough, but generally I have a high arch and wide foot. Keeps my feet fairly cool, so long period of wearing they feel good. Wish Zappos or Nike had outlet stores that customized shoes to the person.

These are pretty good shoes for the price, but I have some downsides to share after 9 months of use. First, after a while, mine started squeaking and making noise which you will see referenced in other reviews. Second, the tongue feels a bit puffy to where I want to leave the laces really loose if sitting for long periods. For example, I just came back from Hawaii and on the flight there and back the tops of my feet started hurting so I took these shoes off. They definitely come off at home when lounging around. That said, I transitioned these into my primary walking shoes lately and have been walking about 15+ miles a week in them for a couple months. They feel good and have been holding up well. With the noise and other comfort issues, however, I'm going to try something else next time.

I have to say that these shoes are absolutely wonderful. Yes, the size runs about a half size smaller than what your foot size is so order 1/2 size larger and the fit is perfect. That's what I read from previous reviews stated and that's what I did and they were spot on. Zappos price was excellent and the shipping was amazingly fast. I'm a very happy customer and Zappos is going to be my main shoe provider. Thank you very much.

These just don't last. For the first 2 months they are comfy, but then they start breaking down. It's about 3 months since I got these and the arch support in one shoe is utterly gone causing foot pain. It's really unfortunate!

Great shoe, great fit. I've had problems finding my size in the store, so I use Zappos. Very quick delivery!

I've finally given up on these shoes. It took only three weeks for them to start squeaking. I really liked this shoe, and the last pair never squeaked. But several of the previous ones did. I actually contacted Nike which was a joke, they were no help on the earlier shoes. I must say Zappos service has been excellent!
