I'm so torn on this review. I've been a devoted Born shoe girl for a couple years now, but I have one very big issue with their boots that may have finally trumped all the positives. First the positives: These, like all Born shoes that I've owned, are insanely comfortable and super stylish. They have a great cushioned footbed, so even 14 hour shifts on my feet are a breeze. They're so comfortable, in fact, that when I get home I'm in no rush to take them off. Now my big negative: The coating on the heel comes off in record time, revealing a white interior. I've had these boots 20 days, and already the heels are wrecked. I can't imagine what I'm doing with the back of my feet that would consistently cause this on all of my Born shoes, but it's enough to make me leave the brand. Even if they made a small change to make the inside of the heels black I don't think I'd mind, but I can't keep spending this kind of money on shoes that don't even last a month.

Like other reviewers have noted - the black coating off the heel wears off in record time exposing a white interior, making the boot look worn and not in a good way. I have two pairs of these boots and love, love, love the fit and style but the worn heel really bugs me. It seems like Born should offer some sort of repair for this defect.

Unfortunately I had the same issue as the top reviewer. The black overlay has peeled off the heel of my boots - my choice now is to buy a new pair, which I really don't want for the price.

I have purchased this brand and similar. And, while, I haven't purchased these shoes I wanted to leave a comment about the white showing through on the heel. Typically, I have found, this happens on the right shoe. And the reason: Driving. When you use this foot to brake and accelerate you are rubbing it against the mats and the floor of the car. Over time the surface black on the heel rubs off. I have discovered this on a number of shoes and now wear a separate pair for driving and change my shoes when I get to my destination. A pain, but until they fix this issue that's my workaround. I hope this is helpful.

These boots are super cute, well made and comfortable. They do run ABOUT a half size too big as other reviewers stated - but not quite. I, unfortunately, wear a size 10.5 which Born doesn't bother to make. I normally have to go up a half size to an 11 in shoes. The 11 was much too big, so I tried the 10, but that is a smidge too small. It's really too bad because I love their shoes - fashionable comfort shoes. I have to return them even though I want them, disappointing.
