This is almost a great shoe. Except they put zero arch support in this one! Every other arcopedico shoe I've worn has a great arch in it. This one is like a cheap Skechers slip on inside. Flat. I'm sad this didn't work out. I hope they can revise this shoe to add arch support.

I have had about ten different Arcopedico shoes over the past 5 years, most in a size 40, and they're the only shoes I can wear straight out of the box. The Malibu is one of the cutest shoes Arcopedico makes. The arch support isn't as pronounced as the L8 or L19 but it's a lot better than the Milan 2 which seemed to be almost totally flat! The shoe fits a little tighter than the L8 and L19 too, but I believe this is because of the shape of the toe box, which is rounded, more like the Milan 2, instead of being slightly pointed like the L8 or L19. When I bought the Milan 2, I ended up returning it for a larger size which was a mistake - it ended up being too big and I had to compensate by putting in orthotics to fill the space. I am currently wearing the Malibus at home without socks, and they appear to be fitting pretty well. I assume they will stretch a little and then I will be able to wear them with thin socks (which is what I prefer). So while these shoes might fit a 1/4 size smaller than normal, I think they're true to size. Also, I really believe that they are vegan, not leather. I have other Arcopedico shoes that are leather and they're completely different than these.

I ordered this boot a half size larger than my other shoes, because I am familiar with this brand. I replaced the insoles with my own custom orthotic and they are terrifically comfortable. I expect to wear them a lot, especially on an upcoming trip to Ireland, where it rains a lot! They are supposed to be water repellant fabric, but I may spray a silicon layer just to be sure.

Review for Zappos VIP Points (What's this?)
I had previously purchased these in my normal Arcopedico size, which is a 40. They felt snug but I felt that they would stretch over time. Fast forward a few months, and they didn't really stretch to the point where I could wear socks in them. So I have been wearing them without socks, which works fine when the weather is warm. I like the style so much I decided to try one size bigger to see if they would work, with socks. And they do! I also inserted a thicker insole for additional comfort and they still fit. The problem with going up a size in Arcopedico is that they can start to swim on your feet. These do not. So my recommendation would be to buy one size up from your normal size. The arch support felt the same as other Arcopedico shoes.

Shoes are cute and comfortable but the sizing is way off. I am a true 91/2 and sized up to a 42 and they are still too small.
