It feels like your crunching on air bubbles in the sole, almost like the rubber is breaking down. I love Dr Martens and this is my first experience with this happening. Maybe because it's a platform sole?

If you are in between half sizes, you may want to size down. They are very comfortable and just the right height if you are looking for a "height lift".

These are AMAZING. Probably the only pair of docs I own that have zero break in time! They are so warm and super comfy right out the box. My only complaint is that the fur insole doesn't stay put when I put on and take off the shoes which is kind of annoying. Other than that love love love these.

The shoe is heavy, as expected I guess with those soles. The ankle opening is tight, which would be good to keep snow out, but limits a comfortable stride.

I am returning these because they are so heavy and clunky to walk in. I love the look, but feel as though I'd been fitted for cement shoes when walking in them. I should add that this may just be because I am elderly, and they are probably fine for a younger person. They are definitely cute.
