Ultraventure 4

I have worn Topo brand shoes for many years. The wide toe box allows for true ground force in walking or running.

(What's this?)The Wide was 2 inches wide in the mid foot. Apparently, I’m in the minority for wanting a decent amount of space in my mid foot as well as my toes, not liking the whole hug the waist thing.

(What's this?)This Mtn Racer is beautifully made, but quite firm in its cushioning. Even tho it has ZipFoam it's a much more firm feel than the Ultraventure 4. And it has less stack height than the Ultraventure. Plus, my usual 7.5 Wide was at least a half size short, but has good toe room.

I love these, especially for trails and comfort but these were worn out in 4 months (and I’m on a running break), so I’m walking in these only. The material is just crumbling.

(What's this?)Good fit, comfort and arch support overall. Comfortable to wear all day. Very breathable allowing your feet to easily cool off. Lacking in durability with fabric and sole showing signs of wearing down after 6 months.

Great shoe! I have purchased multiple in case they stop making them

This is more comfortable than the last pair of Altra shoes I bought, and that's saying something! The wide toe box and the cushioning are superb. I get lots of compliments.

(What's this?)These were comfortable and had a nice squish to them, but the two part sole was annoying and I could feel it through my socks. Not sure why they have that, it's too bad because they are otherwise pretty comfortable. The arch was not super supportive, but comfortable.

This shoe dug in to the side of my left foot . I have another two pairs of the same shoe , make and size and they don't do that!!

(What's this?)Many of the top brands of running and trail shoes I have worn over the years seem to be having an issue with fit and quality. I put in a decent amount of mileage weekly and I was starting to have pain. I had to make a change so I started to explore other brand. Topo wins!!! I found my Goldilocks shoe! I ordered three different Topo shoes to try on and it was honestly hard to send any of them back. They were all great. I kept these because they are trail runners and sport Vibram soles/lugs. Vibram is the only grippy/anti-slip material I trust. I live in the PNW and am no stranger to rain or damp, slick boulders. I speed walk 6-8+ miles daily and do a mix of road/trail/gravel/stairs/etc. I need shoes that I can trust to perform. These have been perfect so far. No slips. Responsive. Comfortable right out of the box. No rubbing or blisters. Finally a toe box that lets my bones actually rest where they need to! With no heel slippage! GREAT arch support. Lightweight. Soooo comfortable. I also love the color options so far… outdoorsy or simple. None of that neon Miami club stuff. The only thing I would add is a little reflective material and a shoe lace elastic band or cargo net. I usually just tuck my laces which is fine but that little extra attention to detail would be helpful. I did size up as I usually do. My feet measure at size 5 but I go up to a 6.5 and the fit was perfection. Definitely a must try!

(What's this?)I wanted to love these. They had the right stack height and *almost* felt great on. They were a bit more narrow than Topos normal roomy toe box, but this wasn’t the deal breaker. The midsole was cut very narrow. That curved heel cup rubbed into my ankles. The insole in the heel area was cut a bit wrong and cut into the bottom of my heel on the right side. Just too many minor uncomfortable issues to be able to keep.

(What's this?)Love this shoe. I needed something a bit sturdier than the Pursuit 2 for rocky AZ trails, and this is just the thing. Supportive, moderately cushioned, and a sole that provides protection from sharp rocks. #sweepstakes

(What's this?)I was a big fan of that other wide toe box shoe for long distance hiking. But they sold out and wrecked an entire season of hiking. Now I'm back on track with Topos, going on my third pair and into 1,000+ miles. No ankle pain. No blisters that don't heal. No worn down tread after 200 miles (I got about 300 miles of good tread on the AZT, a trail known for chewing up shoes). Please don't sell out, Topos! Stay good. #sweepstakes

(What's this?)I wanted to love these trail runners but there is just too much cushioning and too much width so my foot slops around and my balance shifts. One of my providers said I should have shoes that more ground feel.

(What's this?)These are my everyday shoes for pretty much everything. Very light but sturdy, I wear them to the office and on walks and runs. The Topo comfort is built in just like every pair I've ever had, but the minimalist drop keeps my feet engaged during exercise. The toe box is the best of any minimalist shoe I've ever worn.

(What's this?)I love my Topos traverse. I have been training in them the past year in preparation to hike the PCT. I love the roomy toe box but the normal/narrow foot bed (in most shoes with the wider toe-box the footbed is too wide for me). They are sturdy and supportive without being too "squishy." I love the grip on the tread. I've worn Traverse on hundreds of miles of trails - I've cleaned think mud out of them, walked through water, brush, snowthey were easy to clean and dry quickly after being wet. Looking forward to whenever the next gen comes out (I was told maybe next October) and they have Velcro on the heel for my gaiters - for now I'm gluing them on which seems to work fine.

(What's this?)I love that these shoes have a wide toe box that allows your foot to move. Though that part of the shoe is minimalist, there is still a lot of cushion throughout the shoe. That is just what I wanted so I am very pleased.

(What's this?)I bought this sneaker for the look and comfort. Unfortunately, the heel was too low and caused me to rock. That is not a good thing. If it weren't for that, I would have kept them. It is absolutely beautiful and I am so disappointed that they did not work for me.

(What's this?)These are so comfortable. It's like walking on a cloud. I do hav to figure out how to tie them so my heel doesn't slip and the laces don't loose. As I walk. I love the boxy toe box which gives plenty of room for my toes. #sweepstakes

(What's this?)Love topos footbeds. This is my fifth pair, first of this style and I love it. I am normally a 7.5. I ordered a 7.5 and an 8 to ensure one would fit. I kept the 7.5s. I hope Topo doesn’t change this style.

(What's this?)The Specter is a great do-it-all shoe. I use it for track workouts, tempo runs, and easy/distance days. Not many other shoes that can do all of those things well. They do wear out a tiny bit faster than some of my other shoes (maybe 50-75 miles less durability), but it's worth it for how comfortable and versatile they are.

(What's this?)I discovered Topos after a painful bout of plantar fasciitis backpacking a section on the Appalachian Trail. I made the transition to a low (not zero) drop from a 13mm to the 5mm Traverse. I currently own three pair; two for the trail and one for the office. I am very happy with the fit and durability of the uppers. The grippy soles ate lasting, but we'll see how they do on the Virginia rocks once I get 500 miles on them.
