THE MEANING OF LIFE
Marmot clothing and equipment began in April 1971, when two University of California Santa Cruz students Eric Reynolds and Dave Huntley were in the Juneau Icefields of Alaska on a school project in Glaciology. While atop those glaciers, it was there amongst the students that the concept of a Marmot club was born. In order to become a Marmot, they had to climb a glacieted peak with another Marmot. In addition, everyone was president.
During that summer and up until 1973, Eric and Dave began making prototypes of down clothing in their dorm room. In addition to Eric and Dave, their friend Tom Boyce joined their ranks and opened a rental/retail shop under the name Marmot Mountain Works. Here is where the Marmot company was brought to life in the summer of 1974.
Marmot incorporates quality Gore-Tex® in their products, maintaining the highest quality performance product. As a company, they actually remain to be the oldest customers of Gore-Tex® in the world outdoor market. Marmot endeavors to provide outdoor gear that is authentic, innovative and best in class. In every area of business practice that they engage in, they passionately seek the highest level of quality, performance, service and value.

Like it because it’s very light, just wish it was longer . I wear size medium, large— but bought in XL so I could put thick sweater underneath in cold Chicago weather and it’s great!

Im very happy with the Marmot Womens Montreaux Down Coat. Its incredibly warm without feeling bulky, and the longer length keeps me comfortable even on very cold days. The fleece-lined pockets are a great touch and make the coat feel extra cozy. I also love the flattering fit and the removable hood, which makes it versatile for different weather. Overall, its a stylish, high-quality winter coat that I would definitely recommend.

This shirt is a nice fabric, and I like that it isn't tight. However, I couldn't tell from the picture that it is cropped. If I lift your arms over your head, my belly does show. If I had known that, I probably wouldn't have ordered it, but I'll wear it with something high waisted.

These Marmot full zip rain pants are legit rain pants. They get the job done for sure. They arent ultralight, but they are light enough to take along on various hikes, fishing outings, and walks when theres some precipitation. I ordered the large size because Im around 60 and 185lbs. They fit pretty well, but I wish the waist Velcro could cinch tighter around my waist. But overall these are good rain pants. I like them also because they are inexpensive.

The full zip makes the pants easy to put on/take off with getting wet/muddy. I also appreciate the pockets. So far they worked well in light rain. I anticipate years of use.

Very nice. Love the large arm pit zips. The side pockets are deep and perfect for backpack. The hood adjustment keeps the hood secure to my forehead. Its very light weight and very packable. I pack it into the side pocket. I wouldn't mind if Marmot would have designed it with inside pocket zip but it fits perfect. Very happy with it.
