It's very rare these days that you find a pair of shoes that does everything right, and doesn't have some sort of drawback or odd uncomfort. I received these boots two days after ordering (Zappos rocks for shipping) and was excited to try these on. I'm a longtime Keen and Merrell customer, but I wanted something different this time. I've never owned a pair of Danners before, but I know the history with the military, hikers, and workers, so I figured that I'd give them a try. Immediately these boots were soft where they needed to be soft, and supportive and firm where they need to be. The shape of the sole compliments and even helps my walking style, which I can see being a positive when I do my short hikes, and lunchtime walks. Overall I'm impressed with the quality control, the toe feel, and support, and the fact that the boot/shoe feels like it's already broken in. If these are still around when I need replacements, I may go with them again.

Cute boots, true to length, and great quality material and craftsmanship, but narrow in the toebox and no arch support. Also no removable insole, so are way to tight once you add an insole.

I bought these boots about six months around they are still more comfortable then a keen. I will order another pair this fall. I was toying with the idea of buying a (NIKE) but that ship has sailed! I will always shop Zappos . Jake By the way I am 73 and walk 10 -12 miles a week. I need comfortable hiking boots. Thanks again.

These boots are pretty rad. On any given day at work, I might be meeting with upper management, working in my office, wrangling hazardous waste drums, hiking down into the draw to count russian olive trees, or doing a burrowing owl survey. These do a pretty solid job of doing it all. They're not hardcore backpacking boots, but they do well on moderate hikes, in rain and snow, and on rocks. They're burlier than most chukkas and dress boots, but they work in my fairly casual office, in a fairly casual Western state). And they look good sitting at a brewery or on an evening out (in a mountain town, at least). They are fairly high volume, run a little wide, and run a little big. I generally tend to wear size 11 - or even larger in backpacking boots - but the 10.5 was just right for me.

Wore this boot on an overnight backpacking trip (10 miles roundtrip) and it was fabulous. I had not broken them in and was worried but had no issues at all. Very comfortable and stylish looking boot. Ordered these originally along with the Mountain Light Cascade by Danner to compare and thought these were way more comfortable AND $200 cheaper!!

Good looking, comfortable slip on city hiking boot with Chelsea boot style. Would not use these for hard core hiking but rather for great support in long walks around the city in fall and winter. Great for dads as the slip on feature saves time and effort. Most Chelsea boots are too loose around the ankle but these have a nice thick elastic material that hugs your ankles and makes you feel confident that these aren’t going to slip off. May stockpile a few of these for the future.

Light boot for daily use. Laces too long but not a big problem. Perfect for casual-sport use. Soft and confortable felling. It doesn't looks like those are long lasting rugged enough for hard climbing.

I bought these for hiking in Colorado. I did some urban hiking to break them in, but it didn't seem necessary - they fit well and felt good from the first wearing. I used waterproofing spray, but didn't encounter any water to test the WP. The color of the upper is more gray than tan, but I prefer that so very happy. Just bought another model for daily wear. :)

Fit good and are a very well-made boot. I am on my fourth pair. (I rotate two pairs at a time). I work outdoors and can vouch for the waterproof Gore-Tex lining as never letting my feet get wet. Not once. Stitching holds up and comfort is good. I wish I had these when I was meter reading and could really tell you how they take the pounding. I went through Timberland Pro boots every six months. They had better tread(slightly) but the waterproofing never held up. I am in yards and on hillsides all day and my only wish would be a variation of these Danners with a more aggressive tread, but these get you through most every situation. Best outdoor workbook there is,in my opinion.

I'm on my second pair of these. The first pair became my go-to shoes, and I wore them hard until my wife demanded I throw them out. (!) I bought myself another pair immediately. I haven't experienced any of the noise issues that other reviewers have described. I have wide feet, and the EE provides all the width I need.

Love these shoes. The EU sizing numbers seem off but I went with my normal size and it fits fine. Maybe slightly big, but not enough to size down and not enough to cause blisters. I am a day hiker and these shoes are great for that and also for casual wear and being fashionable. I’ve done 7 miles on the trail and lots of urban hiking in them so far. I’m glad I bought them.

Very comfortable-right out of the box. I like that the shaft of the boot dips down in the back to allow more freedom of movement and probably less chance of rubbing against the back of my leg! Very please with the price as well.

I wore them on a short day hike the first time out and they were great, only one problem and that worked itself out(the medial portion of the tongue rubbed some on my inner ankle). I usually wear a size 7.5 in running shoes and boots but these were a tad big so I went with the 7 and it fits perfect. Love this shoe!!!

These are very cute and stylish, but in my opinion they are more like sneakers than hiking boots. I wore them around my house and I was able to feel the cracks between my kitchen tiles through the soles--so I imagine I would be feeling every rock I stepped on while hiking. I also was able to bend my ankle from side just as much as if I were barefoot--so there is no protection against rolling your ankle. They are very roomy, which means I would have to pull the laces super tight to keep my feet in place (I think I have medium width, if not slightly wide, feet). But the problem with that is, because of the gusseted tongue, when I pulled the laces tight the tongue had nowhere to go and would pop out, making it impossible to lace the boots all the way up. Long story short, these would be cute to wear around the city, but didn't seem supportive or durable enough for a hike.

I love these boots, wore them for the first time yesterday on a short day hike to break them in and they were great! I usually wear 7.5s for boots and running shoes but ended up with 7s and they fit perfectly(even with thick hiking socks). The medial side near the tongue rubbed a little bit, once they broke in a little it was fine and didn’t leave a blister or any redness.

I bought these for a trip to Alaska. We were hiking and walking on many different types of terrain. These were super comfy right out of the box. Great looking boot. Very well made. Perfect for our trip! Would definitely buy again.

Purchased these for my wife. She wears a 8.5 in Nike’s and the Adrika Hikers initially felt just about a half size too large. The feet swell after some hiking, so these ended up being true to size for her. Overall a great functional and stylish boot!

This may be the boot that is my work boot. I love it. Light weight. Waterproof. Sounds silly, but easy on easy off. At the end of the day and even early in the morning, you either want to get them on quick or off quick. I have had Danners in the past, and they were great. We will see how these hold up. So far tough enough for the field and stylish enough for meetings with customers and office meetings. Strongly recommend so far. It has been two weeks.
