Baffin

Baffin Logo
Baffin is focused on becoming the undisputed global leader in performance footwear, providing quality, comfort, aesthetics and value through the technical innovation, with a focus on creating the ultimate boot for extreme conditions. Polar explorers have come to appreciate the unique qualities of Baffin boots. Doug Stoup, a celebrated polar adventurer, used Baffin boots to travel over 1,000 kilometers across the Antarctic. In 2006, at least three separate international expeditions chose Baffin boots to get to the North Pole, including, of course, Baffin's own polar trekking team.

When polar explorers trek to the North or the South Pole they subject their footwear to the most demanding conditions imaginable. Day after day they exert themselves to the point of exhaustion, pulling their equipment over the rough and unrelenting terrain. They lose as much as one pound of body weight each day in perspiration and burned calories. At night they sleep in small tents where the temperature can drop as low as -60°C (-76°F), freezing their boots. Cold feet and blisters, that might not be given a second thought in other situations, can be fatal in this environment.

While traditional molded boots are suitable for some conditions, they are not ideal for cold temperatures. In the early 90s Baffin realized that if they combined their leading molding technology with a foam-based inner boot system, they could create a new hybrid style of high performance footwear. Since then Baffin has developed new materials and combined them in new, innovative combinations. A good example is the unrivaled 8-layer combination of materials that are used in the boots that are rated for -100ºC (-148ºF).

Over the years, Baffin has created a line of industry-leading footwear that performs in extreme conditions for an ever-growing list of loyal users and activities, including snowmobiling, ice-fishing, hunting, mushing and working in industries like construction, oil, mining, forestry, and outdoor winter recreation. Because of this, Baffin has become the leader in footwear for all your cold weather needs.

I wanted a cozy, warm, comfy slipper- the kind of slipper that I'd be excited to put on the second I got home from work. This is that slipper. I'm obsessed with these. I bring them along with me when I go over to other people's houses. THAT'S how comfy they are. A few things I worried about before I purchased them: a) Support: I have hardwood floors and there's almost no actual built-in support on these except for a cushy layer, but that hasn't bothered my feet at all. b) Too warm for summer? Nope. It's 80 degrees outside and I'm wearing them in the house and it's terrific. They breathe. A bonus: I'm a baker and I'm messy and I was super pleased to notice that flour/water/starter just scrapes off the top thanks to the shell on these. Folks who say it's like wearing a sleeping bag on your feet are right. They're incredible and these are my chosen slippers for life!

I bought these as garden shoes. We have wet springs and heavy dew into mid summer so I need something light, water proof and easy to slip into. I have a high arch and need something with support that is comfortable when crawling around in the garden yet study enough for digging. These shoes felt too tight even without socks, were far too heavy to wear all day working. They also had NO support and inserts did not fit. The construction was sound and I am sorry to be sending them back.

I ordered size according to chart- size womens 10 equals a men's size 9. Way too big!! I returned and ordered an 8 and these fit pretty good. They are very substantial and feel they will work when I need them. They are a bit clunky and I found that wearing a sock with them makes the fit a little better. If you have very narrow feet, these could be a bit big for you. I have wide feet and the width is fine for me. I live on the coast and I think if we have some flooding, these will work great.

This is a CHUNK of shoe...heavy and very solid. They went on easily but getting them off was a bit of work. they are snug! I am sending them back because they are very heavy, they do not offer enough arch support and my inserts don't work with them. If you are looking for a well made shoe to wear during wet/dirty work, try these. If there was more arch support I'd keep them.

Good old comfy "camping" slippers! Great in a pine forest, not water proof or really very water resistant but that isn't what they are made for. To keep your tent clean while keeping your feet toasty warm these rock! and they pack well!! although they do have a sole so cannot be rolled up, they still do not take up much room at all for the amount of comfort they provide! and for cold winter nights these are great inside slippers as well! Love my boffins and always have a few on hand!

I live in a wet area on Long Island and I needed a boot I could walk around in wet and muddy conditions and not ruin my everyday shoes. I like these boots very much. They are fun to wear, very comfortable and practical. I hope to have them for a long time.

I bought these slippers as travel slippers. They are always in my suitcase's outer pocket, ready for the next trip. They crush down to a small size easily, when inside a ziploc bag. (You close all but a corner of the ziploc, and squeeze out the air, then seal the bag.) Best travel slippers! They are nice and warm and comfy. I got them soaking, sopping wet in a flood in an unfamiliar kitchen, with water mixed with coffee grounds. (I ran the dishwasher and didn't know that the garbage disposal was impacted with coffee grounds.) I thought my new slippers were ruined. I called Zappos and asked what to do. They were nice enough to say that if washing them in a mesh bag on a gentle cycle ruined them, they'd take them back! Awesome customer service!!! I washed them in a mesh bag on a gentle cycle - twice - and hung them to dry. They were good as new! (Mine are charcoal, which might have helped.) Before I contacted Zappos, while looking on-line for cleaning instructions, I noticed that they were available at a lower price on another site, and I mentioned this to Zappos customer service as part of my original grumbling complaint. I never expected them to do anything about it, but they gave me a discount after-the-fact!!!!! They turned my downer day into a memorable, positive customer service experience. Zappos absolutely has the very best customer service of any e-tailer!!!!!!

These feel pretty good. I had to forgo the socks. However, they are lined so hopefully it will work out. It is warm now, so I will have to wait to find out what happens in the winter. It is suppose to rain this weekend and I will take these on test drive then. Fingers crossed.

I've had them for about 9 months and my daughter liked them also- we wear the same size, so I bought them for her. I wear a 7 1/2, but buying size 8 was was too big, so I returned them and got a 7, which works just fine. The boots are insulated, so when it's raw out or even light snow, the do keep your feet warm and provide good bottom grip. Love them!

Very warm and snuggly. I suppose they are meant to be roomy, but I would order at least a half size smaller next time. These replaced a worn out pair of Baffin Cush slippers, and the Cush fit is smaller than this style. I only gave a 3 star style rating because style is not really the selling point on these, at least for me.

Love these booties.........however after only a few weeks i started slippping on the kitchen floor. I realized about a week later that the rubber stamping on the bottom of one of the booties is totally naked....the rubber stamping had all worn off....and is starting to wear off on the other bootie. I have only had them 4 weeks....and for the price I would have expected more. Zappos return policy is great however.

These used to be my favorite slippers...not anymore. These slippers are no longer comfortable as the interior is squished and molded all out of shape. Baffin booty slippers used to come in a handy little fabric drawstring bag and now they don't. They come in a tiny box so that the slippers are contorted and all of shape before you attempt to try them on. They don't seem to be as cushioned in the footbed area either. All in all, this purchase was quite a disappointment. I returned these slippers.

I love this Baffin boot! I previously bought the Baffin Madeleine which is now 7 years old. It still works but is taller than what I need. This style is perfect: fit is perfect, comfort is perfect and the top can be closed to prevent snow from sneaking inside. Thanks so much for making it available. I normally wear a 10 1/2 wide but the size 11 B fits perfectly.

Please don't ask me to review products I buy, when you haven't given me the option to not review products ( I apologize if you did ). It costs me money to receive your email, turn on the internet, log in to zappos.com, type a review, and upload it. We have a very slow internet connection. These shoes/boots need better arch support because they're not the snuggest fitting. Other than that, I highly recommend them. ( I was here...I might as well leave a review. :) ) I'm not as grumpy as it may seem. But I think i made my point.

Normally a size 12 shoe I ordered a size 13-14 for this particular slipper. Glad I did ! Soft, warm and comfortable.Only drawback is that the non slip sole tends to wear out quickly...maybe because I wear them so often.

Very long and narrow, strange fit. Heel height also felt off, like I would go over on my ankle. Kept them for rainy days when i am driving in the car and not required to walk far. Will use my Bogs for everything else.

These run small. I wear a 6.5 - 7 and ordered a size 7. They felt like a 6; much too small. And I had a thin sock on. I just exchanged for an 8. Super-easy exchange. If the 8 is too roomy, I'll wear a thicker sock.

I purchased these 6 months ago and can say they've lasted well through a Chicago winter. Good for walking the dogs on a cold and slightly slushy day. I like that they slip on quickly and easily but still feel snug. As long as the snow and water are shallow, I've found them to be waterproof. Obviously, you'll want something taller for deeper puddles and snow! These have a felt-like liner on the inside, making them warmer than my tall Hunter boots. A pair of warm socks and these boots got me through most of this cold winter.
