Ariat

Ariat Logo
In 1990, Ariat International co-founders Beth Cross and Pam Parker set out to create a new company and a new way of thinking about footwear for riders. They realized that traditional English and Western riding boots were stiff, heavy and hard on the feet — not very well suited for riding. Both riders with backgrounds in the athletic shoe industry, they realized the unique needs of equestrians — both in the saddle and on the ground — and the performance-enhancing benefits that could be brought to riding boots to give these athletes an edge.

So they assembled a group of top footwear engineers and designers, and set them on the task of creating the world's most technically innovative performance riding boots. They started by re-designing the outsole, rethinking the arch support system and finally taking a hard look at the suitability of "traditional" last shape and fit. While they were building the technology platform for Ariat boots, they were also talking to hundreds of top riders who helped in the design and development of the final product.

In 1993, Ariat shipped their first pair of boots, and today Ariat is the world leader in performance equestrian footwear, offering a full range of English and Western riding boots, work boots and casual footwear — plus new lines of performance apparel and accessories to fully outfit today´s equine athletes and equestrian-inspired lifestyle enthusiasts.

Whether you are a professional equestrian athlete or a novice rider, you will find an Ariat boot with the performance technology that is perfect for you. Ariat boots cushion the foot while stabilizing the heel and arch, dramatically reducing fatigue and stress to the feet, legs and lower back. This amazing technology can also be found in a variety of casual Ariat shoes — providing you with comfortable and stylish alternative for those relaxed, easy-going days.

These boots are beautiful and appear to be very well made. When I first put them on, they were snug but felt good. However, for me, I found the circumference of the boot to be too big for my somewhat skinny legs. Sadly, I will be returning them.

These boots are awesome and the colors are gorgeous! True to size, comfy from the start, no breaking in.. and they look just like the picture. They go with just about any color you wear. They've quickly become some of my favorite boots!

Beautiful boots. The leather looks so expensive, and the color is rich. The boots slipped on really easily and so far are comfortable. They will be used for riding, so I can update the review if anything changes!

I loved the style and the quality was excellent. Unfortunately the interior of the foot was snug on top of my foot and rubbed uncomfortably. I've had the boots off for over an hour and I can still feel where the boot irritated my foot and I only had them on for a few minutes. I'm not sure of the solution. I guess the foot is narrow (top of foot to bottom) not width-wise, but I don't feel comfortable enough with that guess to order a larger size. Sadly, I have sent them back.

These are beautiful boots and they fit me well. Unfortunately, they have thick seams down the sides of the interior of each boot. The inner side seam hit me just at the ankle bone, making them quite uncomfortable even with socks on. Perhaps if the boots were wider, this wouldn't be a problem. But they will have to be returned.

I ordered the fun bronze color. I never know if I'm an 8 or 8.5 so I went with the 8's and glad I did. The shoe is somewhat stretchy and they fit perfectly. They are soft and instantly comfortable.

I have had several pairs of this brand/style in different materials. This one is by far the stiffest and narrowest and doesn't feel as though there will be lots of stretch over time. They are very nice looking shoes, but I would not be able to wear socks of any substance with them due to the narrowness and fit across the top of the foot.

Handsome boots. Well-made. Long and narrow. Prefer wider toe-box. These may have broken in and become more comfortable over time but I didn't want to take a chance.

Beautiful boots! Well made, good quality leather boots and gorgeous color. I agree with a previous reviewer, the color does come off on your hands a tiny bit, but not concerning. Very comfortable and fits true to size with toe box a little narrow. My trick to stretch the toe box in snip toe boots is to use two caps from cans of whipped cream pushed in as far as I can get them. The caps are tapered at the top and wide at the bottom so they fit beautifully side by side in the toe. I push a sock or rag in behind them to keep the caps from slipping out of place and do this every time I wear them during the break in period until toe box feels just right. Works every time! I always wear thick socks with my boots, but if you wear thin or no socks fit of boot may be a little big for you so you may want to size down a half size. Love Zappos and my boots!

In last 7+ years, the sizing for these boots has drastically changed for the LARGER. My current 7+ year old Ariat Terrain H2O boots are 7.5 and still holding on, but wearing a little bit. Today I'm struggling to not have my feet swim around in a new size 7. I even tried 6.5 but they're too short. I'm trying the Ariat Terrain Pro H20 in 7.0 and hoping for the best. Nothing beats the Ariat Terrain comfort and all around versatility, but it looks like I'll be wearing my banged up boots a bit longer.

My brother has worn Ariat for years and always told me how great they were. After that I bought a few pairs for my boyfriend and he loves them. In the continuous search for trouser jeans, I decided to give Ariat a try for myself. WOW! They fit and feel extremely nice, have different inseam length options which are perfect, and they LOOK fantastic. I don't know that I will buy any other brand again. TWO thumbs up for Ariat jeans!

This boot was deceptively marked as Wide, yet it is actually narrower than the original Fat Baby boot. I know because I have a pair, which I love and live in. I was hoping that this Wide version would be at least the same as the original, but it is narrower, which means I can no longer wear Ariat boots. Too bad. The photo shows my original boots on the left and the new pair on the right. Both size 6.5, but the new pair is painfully narrower. Ugh.

Great fitting work boot. It did run just a bit smaller in width, but not to where it was too narrow. ( I wear a EE to EEEE ). There was no breaking in at all, it was a good comfortable fit right out of the box. These boots are nice and light, and a 12 hour day on my feet was no problem. If the boots wear as well as they fit and support, I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Before I had children, I was a solid 6.5. After two children, I am a pretty solid 7, but can wear a 6.5 every once in awhile. I took the advice of the previous reviews and opted for the 6.5. I LOVE this show. I have worn it barefoot and with a thin footie (so). For summer this works perfect! My foot is slightly wide, with a narrow heal. These don’t pinch or rub anywhere! Soft, real leather - excellent craftsmanship and quality! I will definitely be buying another pair (or more)! For winter, I may go with a size 7 to allow for a sock. Would definitely suggest this shoe!

Impressed so far as I wear them while managing residential construction projects and performing light job site work. They keep breaking in nicely. They look totally bad ass and upper is super soft.
