Since the days of selling arch supports to police officers and waiters, New Balance has been a brand concerned with meeting the needs of the everyday athlete. In pursuing this goal, they developed an "Endorsed By No One" philosophy, which holds that a superior product will sell itself better than any superstar athlete ever could. I was torn between the 577 or an 812 or 928. This 577 seems to lack some heel support. It makes you feel like flat feet. The upper Velcro strap is too short to fully enclose over the foot. These shortcomings are probably due to my foot configuration as it is an excellent, good looking shoe and a good buy if applicable. I am going to purchase the 928 but you are out of stock.

The Velcro straps are too short. Part of the hook is left exposed and catches on the bottoms of slacks, damaging the material. Two more expensive New Balance models do not have this problem.

Good fit, lightweight, comfortable. My son says they're "old man's" shoes, but I'm an old man. So I just don't care.
I'd also recommend: New Balance are the best

This is my third pair of New Balance and I love them. I'll buy them again ! The fit, the velcro fasteners and the insoles are tops.
I'd also recommend: None at present.

These are well made men's walking shoes. They were bit stiff when new, but they soften up with walking. I like the hook and loop strap; easy for my arthritic finger to tie.
