These shoes are poorly made/designed. The bad stitching along the Achilles tendon is very hard with little padding, and there is hard material along either side of the laces inside the shoe. I wore this pair for a day, the top of me feet were red from rubbing the hard material and I have two big red welts on my Achilles that hopefully will not turn into blisters. It is too bad, because it is a really nice style.

I really liked the look of the shoe. It’s a very basic shoe that you can wear with anything. My problem is that they are a bit too narrow for me and hurt my feet. I have wide feet and have had better luck with Pumas. The thing I didn't count on was that I didn't figure out I couldn’t wear the shoes until I walked a little bit. Since my apartment is small, I didn't really have any room to walk in them inside. So, since I wore them outside, I couldn't return them. I sold them to a friend and lost money on the deal. Made me wonder about buying shoes online.

They look good... But they are very stiff and uncomfortable. After wearing them 1 day, my feet hurt. They have a very stiff footbed and a hard rubber sole. They are great looking, but extremely rigid and I wondered how this company has been around so long. I do wear a size 13, however, so I'm not sure if it is just an issue with the size or not. I wore them several more days hoping they would soften up, but they didn't and only caused my feet more pain and discomfort. What's really strange is that I just tried some other Vans in 13, the original style in all black, on in a store locally, and they felt great! Go figure. I could not return these shoes because I did wear them for several days. Zappos issued me a $30 credit since I couldn't return them, but I think it was only good for a short time, and I didn't want to buy-before-you-try anymore.
I'd also recommend:

Blah. I own these shoes. Best thing I can say about then is that I didn't spend much on them. They're more or less comfortable... wide enough in the toe-box that I don't feel smushed in, but a little loose in the heel. Not much padding in the heel, but okay for walking not too far. The worst thing about them is how quickly they wore out... I had them only about two and a half months before they were ripped near my toe joint, where the shoe flexes when I walk... and now, less than six months later, the sole is all but worn through and I'm already looking to get another pair of shoes (not Vans). Not only that, but the break-in period is rather annoying (and lasts several weeks) b/c the back of the sole is not ergonomically shaped, so walking in them sort of goes clunk-clunk-clunk as you go from heel to toe. This wouldn't be good if you have sensitive feet. Last, there look is pretty played out by now and I felt just like every indie rocker and punk living in Providence (and the rest of the world). Which is lame. I won't buy them again.
I'd also recommend:
vintage Adisas, vintage Puma, vintage asics Onitsuka Tiger... all of which are better built than these shoes

COMFORT, WHERE ART THOU? It's so difficult to find comfort. K-Swiss made their Classic in canvas and it could be put on and worn in comfort. Don't you know they went to leather and it's a totally different comfort level. Your shoe sole looked like it might be good but it's a little too flexible and I can feel the movement of the sole, not comfortable. Thanks for this opportunity.

Checkered part has a very yellow hue compared to the white shoe strings. Just got them today and will be returning promptly

Would have liked to been able to provide a review for others wanting context to the shoe. 10 business days later and still no shoe.

I was pretty disappointed and surprised that my shoes arrived with a ripped up sole. They also look slightly used on the inside :( . They are otherwise very cute, so it's shame they were damaged. Will have to return for a hopefully better pair.

The quality of popular brands can sometimes be inconsistent. That's what happened here. These looked like they were made from cheaper materials than other Vans I've seen in the mall, etc. They looked like $20 shoes. Flimsy structure and low quality material, and logos looked a little strange. I had to double check the website I used to make sure it wasn't a scam.

The checkers look yellow! And it looks so obvious because of the vans logo being so white you expect the squares being white not yellow.

I have worn Vans for years, but these were terrible. The body of the shoe is leather, but the tongue is a wrinkled and irritating canvas. Every time I wore them I had blisters on my heels. They have gone to the thrift shop.

I love these. I got mine dirty so I bought new ones. These came in very dark, they almost looked wet. I've had them for days now and they're still dark.

They do fit but they’re very heavy and uncomfortable. The reason I got them was the rubber sole which does seem to have good traction.

I hate these. I have had vans before and thought I would like them. they are hard to break in. The inside sutures rub against my toe and I have made them blister twice now. I am so uncomfortable with them. I wanted a cute travel white sneaker that I can wear and I feel I cant wear these ever again. I wish I could return them

The stiff fossil fuel materials used in these shoes are rigid and uncomfortable - where are the leather shoes these days?

I bought these specifically for the Sherpa lining for the warmth. The Sherpa is only around the ankle and doesn't line the shoe. This should be in the description.

The tongue part of one of the shoes is very uncomfortable. I have readjusted it multiple times! It feels painful to walk in them. Too late to refund them. They never got back to me when I emailed them.

The shoes are comfortable - but the "blanc de blanc" color, which I assumed/expected to be white on white, was mousy beige.
