Having been a long time Brooks fan I’ve been disappointed in their shoes the last few years. While the Ghost has always been my go to running shoe the changes have been keeping me away. The size and fit is snug, the soles are slippery on damp surfaces, there is zero reflective material, and the shoes break down in record time. While there are a lot of color options I seldom like any of them. The main problem here is the snug fit. My feet measure at size 5. All of my other shoes are a size five with a perfect fit. In running shoes I go up a size, usually to a 6. Lately I’ve been going up to a size 6.5.. why are running shoes getting smaller?? I tried these in a 6.5 and they were snug. I put in a lot of miles and know this will not be a good fit for my feet. Going up to a size 7 would make them too long and a tripping hazard. Size “wide” is nearly impossible to find and I confirmed with shoe experts that I am not, in fact, a “wide”. Unfortunately these did not work for me.

The height of the shoe around ankle bones is super low and the back of the heel is exaggerated up and out. Does not work well with my narrow ankles. The base of the shoe also feels way too big and squishy compared to my last version Ghost 15.

Heel support in these shoes were great, however after being used to Hoka’s the toe box is much smaller. I wear a little thicker ankle sock that is a compression type sock. So even 8 were a little small for my comfort

I’ve worn Brooks Ghost for years. My go to shoe. Unfortunately, this year they changed the style too much and the sides dig into the bottom of my ankles. Had to return.

This is a very odd shoe. I have worn Brooks Ghosts and Glycerins for over a decade. Always 10.5 AA. This shoe is super uncomfortable. It cuts into my outer ankle bones. There is this weird gap all around my ankle and a stiff padded tab that sticks out in the back. The shoelaces were oddly short. There is a “knot” on the insole that does not align with my arch. The shoe is longer and narrower than previous Ghosts. The 10 AA was longer and narrower than previous 10.5 AA. Having a narrow foot I was good with the width, but this shoe is a miss for me.

I have a very narrow heel but B width across the toes. These shoes were too narrow across the toes. Also the Ghost 17 is too stiff and doesn't bend as easily as my Ghost 15s.

I have been wearing the Ghost running shoe for several years. My last pair, the Ghost 16, fits well, but the Ghost 17 is more tapered and narrower in the toe. I do not understand why an athletic/running shoe would be tapered in the toe when your toes tend to spread when running or walking. Disappointing.

These brook 17 are nothing like my 15 or 16 ghosts pair. The soles are hard and much bigger not comfortable at all . I will be returning them . very difficult to put on and they are very narrow . The shoes are too firm not soft at all

I’ve had about 7 pairs of Brooks Ghosts that fit like magic on my feet. This pair, although really amazing in color (Navy papaya) felt really narrow in the toe area. Give me blisters type fo narrow. The material is different than your typical Ghosts which may have compromised the normal space for the toes.

More narrow than 16's. Shoe had a lot of hot/rub spots from the start. Super disappointing. Please stop drastically changing this model year-to-year.

I have been buying Brooks Ghost for 15+years for many reasons including the generous toe box. The 17 is the first time I have felt the tie box of the M Width was too narrow. So disappointing.

I’ve been wearing Ghost for a long time. I’m very disappointed in the 17. The heel is so stiff it was a challenge to get on. But they are very stylish so I thought I would keep them in the hopes it might loosen up. After wearing for ten hours today, I had to change shoes. My feet and knees ached. Definitely not as supportive or cushioning as the 14 or 15 model. I wish I could return them. But I did wear them all day so they will be put away for a shoe I only need to wear for an hour or two.

They were very uncomfortable and did not look as nice as the picture. Not the usual Brooks quality, will be returning.

Different from previous ghost shoes. Rubs ankle bone, upper is too high. Worn this brand , style for years. Disappointed

First, let me say that I ordered the Ghost 17 when it first came out. The recommended size for me was 9 even though I always wore a size 9.5 wide in previous Ghost versions. So, so very sad to say, the Ghost 17 is not at all an improvement over the Ghost 16. The Ghost 17 is just awful - too narrow, less cushioning or cushioning type. All the improvements that Brooks say they made are not improvements at all. Unfortunately I wore them too much to return them or I would have. I hate them and my feet hate them, too. I'm always in pain when I wear them. I continue to wear them because they are the only white sneakers I own and my black ones don't look good with summer clothing. Lucky that at least for winter, I have 2 pairs of black Ghost 16 to rely on. I don't know what I will do when they wear out because I have tried several other Brooks models and none of them fit right like my Ghost 16s.

I’ve always loved Ghost, and really wanted to love these, but they caused my feet to hurt horribly. The heels and the balls of my feet just ache. I wore them for road walking and the treadmill.

The heel area is completely different than precious models. Very narrow and doesn't cover the width of the back heel. Also the middle portion of this part is much higher, but the sides lower. Awkward fit. Super bummed!

These Brooks are a great fit and very comfortable right out of the box.

My favorite Brooks sneaker is the Ghost style. The 17 is perfect support for me. Runs tru to size. I wear 9.5 and the shoe is 9.5.

All Brooks I have to wear a size larger. These are very durable and comfortable. I love the light blue color.

So very comfortable. The cushioning in the heel is beyond comparison with any other brand. I have issues with my Achilles heel tendon and these shoes really help.

Excellent pair of shoes

This is my first pair of Brooks Ghost shoes, and I am impressed. They are very comfortable and have great arch support. I was on my feet all day at work, and I did not have any feet or leg pain at the end of the day.
