I've been wearing Ghosts since the 10 came out, and I have never before had so much issue finding the right size. I had to go down a full shoe size from what I was wearing in the 16. These feel great! Very cushy and bouncy. I don't run marathons, so I can't speak to that, but these are great for walking and jogging/running morr casual distances. I'm a supinator with high arches, hypermobility, and a chronic autoinflammatory disease that causes joint pain/swelling. These shoes work great for me!

I've been wearing Brooks forever and always the same size. And super excited to see a new shoe in a narrow width and in a color other than black or white. But these I returned for a half size smaller, they were just too long. Brooks, please offer those of us with narrow feet more color options. Why should the wide ones get all the pretty shoes?

I've been wearing the Ghost for many years. Sometimes the change works and sometimes not. Unfortunately this change does not work for me. The heel to toe drop change puts more pressure on my heals which is not good for plantar fasciitis. And while cushy it's not distributed in the right places. The collar of the shoe rubs on my ankle. There are less air holes for ventilation. Ended up with heel and arch pain. I'll definitely be returning them. Maybe the next change will be better.

Finally Brooks is back!! This was my go-to brand for years until they changed the fit somehow, and I have not been able to wear the newer styles for years. I gave these a try, and boy am I glad I did! The old Brooks is back - wide, comfy toe box, balanced arch support. Will probably buy another pair!

This shoe is very different from the Ghost 16. It has much less cushion, and a higher heel-toe drop. This shoe is not a match for what I look for in a running/walking shoe.

This style of Brooks was a half size too long, so we reordered another pair and they were a great fit.

These shoes seemed fine when I tested them out indoors. However, I bought them specifically for walking outside. When I started using them on my walks I realized that they are much too roomy and my feet move around in them way too much no matter how tight I tie the laces. This is the same size I always wear and I usually end up getting Brooks. So, I’m disappointed in this particular version. I wish shoe manufacturers would stop changing their products every year.

There is not enough room in the toe box anymore. my previous Ghost shoes ( maybe from 2 seasons ago) had a higher and rosier toe box. When I put my orthotics in these, there is not enough room left. Im sorry that they keep changing the sign of the shoe.

I was excited to try these shoes because the 12mm drop on all the previous iterations of Ghost was too high. The 10mm drop on the Ghost 17 was a huge improvement. This could be a very good shoe for someone with a low volume foot and narrow heels. The heel is very secure (it actually takes more effort than I like to give to put it on), and the toe box is on the slim side, not in terms of width, but in height. The shoes also offer pretty good support and a LOT of cushion and bounce. For me, the cushion was too much, and all the bounce actually felt somewhat unstable. Additionally, the collar and tongue come up very high. The collar rubbed my ankle too much and with every step and flex, the tongue dug into the tendon that goes from the top of my foot to my leg. The shoe is well-made and high quality, it's just not for me.

Buying this year's model of the Ghost 17 was a trial & error purchase for me. My previous Ghost 15's size had been size 7 Medium. But after reading several recent reviews that described the Ghost 17 model as more narrow than the Ghost in previous years, with the possible need to size up, I ordered out one size 7 Med and one size 7.5 Med. I agree that the 17's run narrow. And the 7.5 Med the better fit for me. However, shortly thereafter I was prescribed custom orthotic insoles, which typically take up more room in a shoe than factory insoles do. I reassessed the 7.5 Med, and found that the ultimate best fit for me with the orthotics is 7.5 Wide ... and I've since purchased two pair in that size which I plan to alternate wearing on my lengthy daily walks. The Grey/Clearwater/Purple color seemed a good choice for the fall/winter season.

These work well with my narrow feet and have good cushioning. I wish Brooks had cuter colors, but this blue is very practical and looks good with jeans. I’m happy.

The fit was close to the Ghost 10 which was just right for me. The toe box is wider than the last few versions & the heel is snug on my narrow heels. I just wish there were more color options in the wide.

It took some trial and error to find the right Brooks style and size for me. I have wide feet, but the biggest issue is that I have a high instep. I first tried the Glycerin 22 in my usual size 7 wide. WAY too small, could barely get my feet in them. So I upped a whole size to 8 W. I could get them on and the length was about right, but the width was not a true wide. I went to a shoe store to try in person instead of ordering online again. I found the Ghost 17 style that were more roomy, but only Zappos had them available in WW. I found that the 7 1/2 WW fit very well. I wish there were more options in the WW, it was either all black or the yellow/pink style. I was afraid the colors would be too bright, but they're subtle enough and I like that they're more of like a light grey than off-white.

I don’t love the update to the Ghost shoe. I’ve bought them for YEARS and now they are bulkier and not nearly as comfortable from the onset. Stiff, tighter under the laces and harder footbed. Harder to break in and will be looking for a new brand sadly.

Having worn Brooks Ghost shoes for years - I was disappointed in the fit between the 15 (which I love) and 16. So - I thought I'd try the 17. Alas! Like the 16, it didn't have the amazing fit as previous years. Basically, it felt too large and clunky, and didn't give me the same sense of effortless walking of past Ghosts. I am intending to switch to the Ghost Max as it has received great ratings. Here's hoping!

I have worn the Brooks Ghost for many years. Unfortunately, the Ghost 17 feels different than all the rest. It is hard, not flexible and makes my arches hurt. I just ordered the Brooks Glycerin 22 which is much more like all the previous Ghost models and much more comfortable than the Ghost 17 so I am returning the Ghost 17.

These shoes are beautiful and insanely comfortable. I love that they are supportive and yet not so awkward and bulky. Can't wait to wear them about and around. So comfofy and stylish.

This is my 3rd purchase of these exact shoes and color so I have been very happy with them. Comfort is amazing and I wear them 5 days a week while working out as well as casual wear. Very pleased.

These are my 4th pair of Ghosts, I have 4 different colors, I now found it hard to wear any other shoes. These shoes give me excellent support with my removable arch support.

Finally, Shoes that don't hurt my feet. I need the extra wide and these will be my everyday shoes!!

Brooks Ghost 17 are the best shoes I've bought in quite a while. They offer the perfect balance of cushion and support. The toe box is roomy enough for my feet (bunions and narrow heels). I wear these every day for walking, and at my job as a hospital nurse.

I read the reviews and a lot of them indicated that the new Ghost 17 ran a bit big. I ordered my regular Brooks Ghost size 9 as well as an 8.5 just in case. I find they run the same as my past versions of the Ghost shoe. Keeping the 9 and returning the 8.5!

I ordered a 9.5 and they were really narrow. Zappos didn’t have 9.5 wide in a color I liked so I order the Brooks Glycerin in 9.5 wide. Fit perfectly.

It felt a little longer than previous Brooks Ghost shoes.
