This is really a nice shoe. I love the way it looks... for here in rural Montana I'd go so far as to call this shoe a little dressy! Be aware that this is considered a "barefoot" shoe so it has a beautifully wide toe box that allows your toes to wiggle and grip. It also has a pretty flat profile and thin sole so you feel quite a bit of any rocky terrain you are walking on, though it does have a nice arch support. The tread pattern is great for gripping rocky ground you might be walking on, but boy oh boy does it hold on to dirt, mud, goose poop. So if you are wearing it on any kind of terrain that might stick be sure to take these shoes off before you go inside or really really scrape and brush and inspect before you track it inside. Oh... one other thing, I do find the higher top on these shoes can be really uncomfortable on my achilles if I'm sitting for an extended period (like in the car, or on a plane). I got a pair of the lower rise version too, and those are much more comfortable on that tendon.

WOW! Merrells usually don't hit my arch in the right spot, but these were made for my feet! I'm a die hard ankle support loving hiking boot/tennis shoe hybrid girl from the 90's, when I wore my Nike hiking boots out working at Trader Joe's and listening to Bjork....but I digress....Very well made, very comfortable, the sole is incredible....you could almost go climbing in these super grippy shoes! Love where they hit my ankle, and very happy with the snug fit and feminine (enough) design.
Not sure who needs this shoe, maybe for trekking around everyday life? That's what I'm using them for, just livin! Green is my favorite color too, bonus!

I'll tell you I've had foot problems for over 35 years and could never go barefoot. After wearing these sneakers for just a couple of weeks I can now. They are healing my feet! I only weigh 102, and no diabetes either. They make you feel like you are walking on grass barefoot. Merrell comes through again! I have two pairs of them and got some for my daughter too. (she doesn't know yet) I can wear them from the time I get up until I go to bed but did notice I can walk barefoot on hardwood floors now when they do come off. Normally I can't walk on wood floors for more than a minute. I've done it up to more than an hour now. These are unbelievable shoes. Cute also and get compliments on them.

I am so happy with this purchase!!! I have been looking for waterproof barefoot hikers for months. I have tried soooo many brands and disliked all of them for various reasons. These shoes, however, feel like they were made for me feet and are everything that I have been looking for! I literally said before they arrived, "This is the last pair of barefoot hikers I try before I give up and go back to my Hokas." Little did I know how true that would be in the BEST way possible!! They are comfortable and waterproof. They have flexible soles I need to keep my feet happy but offer protection so I don't break my toes stubbing them on rocks. They are also cute enough, but that doesn't matter to me nearly as much as the fit and comfort. Hopefully they will have long-lasting quality like other Merrells I have owned in the past.

The webste mistakenly says they run large and to size down. I've purchased a least 20 pairs of Merrells over the years and one can count on the side. A 7.5 is a 7.5 no matter what. Because of the instructions, I ordered a 7 and it was too small. I returned it and let customer service know about the inacuracy of the sizing statement but they haven't corrected it. Just received my white 7.5 shoes. They are beautiful and perfectly sized. Will test the waterproofing in my rainy climate tomorrow.

I have to wear these as soon as I get up. They feel like you are walking on the ground/grass outside. They grip really well and would recommend for hikers and elderly people too. Best pair of sneakers yet!!! Perfect fit and can wear all day and all night. I have had a foot problem for more than 40 years and now after these shoes I can walk barefoot for at least an hour and a half. Amazing quality also! When I can afford it, I want to get a pair for my 88-year-old mom and 45-year-old daughter. THE BEST so far!! They beat Birkenstock sandals by far!

This item is a comfortable shoe, but dont order a size down as suggested. I found it runs pretty true to size to slightly smaller. Order your size or a size up for best fit.

I ordered half a size smaller as recommended. The boots were too small, a little narrow. I returned and didnt reorder. I have several pairs of Merrell boots/shoesbut this pair just wasnt what I had in mind. In general, Merrell products seem to not be consistent in sizing. I loved the first pair of Moabs i had. Replaced with same boots, but never felt like the first ones. Later I ordered a wide size in the Moab, but I dont care for those either. I do have one pair that seem comfortable so far. I think I will need to try on in the store from now on, on line purchases of Merrell dont seem to go that well. The pair I have and they fit good I purchased in the store (Acsdemy).

I wore these shoes on a 7 mile hike right out of the box.fantastic. The following day scrambled up wash to a mesa top, soles were grippy and felt sure footed. Ive worn many barefoot styles from Merrell, always an 8, but these are shorter in length. With cushioned socks these barely worked, you might size up a 1/2 size. Green color is an awesome neutral.

Amazing shoe, wish it fit. Recommendation was to size down 1/2 size and I did. Big mistake. I normally wear a size 9 (Euro 40), so I ordered the 8.5 (39) and my toes hit the end of the shoe - hard stop :( And now they dont have my size in stock. Wish I would have ordered my normal size.

Very light & comfortable. No breaking in needed! Wider in the front, which is great because of my bunions. Runs about half size too small. Ordered 9.5 and had to return for a 10. They look great with almost anything!!

For me these shoes are perfect. Very comfortable. Lots of space in the toe box. Very good traction. Waterproof. And nice looking. I usually wear 9 - 9.5. I got a size 10 and the fit is good.

The black Merrill Mid Wrapt Barefoot Hiking Boot is great. I wear an 8 in most shoes, but I use orthotics because of my high instep arches, so I went one size larger and with my black Thorlo roll top socks they are very comfortable and fit perfect. I have arthritis in both knees so I needed a flat sole like a tennis shoe. These barefoot waterproof hiking boots are great and keep your feet warm.
My boots took me out to a formal dress dinner restaurant. My attire was black velvet and the black wrapt boots looked very high fashion and upscale haute couture.
I wanted easy walk and comfort and a dressed up look. These boots answered all the above.

I bought these a week ago and have worn them every day since. They fit like they were meant for my feet right out of the box, and I've already gotten compliments. Perfect toebox and so comfy! I like they way they look, and they came with appropriately sized shoelaces, unlike a lot of hiking boots. I bought them because I wanted a barefoot hiking boot, and I live in the Pacific Northwest so it had to be at least waterproof (wish they made these in Gore-tex). As a barefoot shoe, they're not. The sole doesn't feel any thinner than any of my other shoes/boots. But they fit so well I kept them anyway. Now onto the bad...the soles are EXTREMELY slippery on wet concrete/paved surfaces. I slipped and almost fell yesterday just walking across a concrete patio. For being a waterproof shoe, the soles are just not up to wet surfaces. They're fine on packed gravel or dirt trails, but I was shocked at how slippery they are on hard surfaces. Dangerously so. Had I not worn them outside already, and despite all the things I love about them, I might have returned them because of this. Would love to see this same boot with Gore-tex, a thinner actually barefoot sole with an improved, non-slip surface (Vibram?). However, I love them enough to still give them.

As beautiful as these shoes are, I was disappointed in the fit. They are not only flat but fit like an Earth shoe having a negative heel.
No support at all.

This is my second pair. ( started with the tan, now the black). These are fantastically comfortable. I’ve been wearing Merrell barefoot style shoes for years off and on. My hips, knees and feet are happiest in these. Even walking all day or standing on concrete for hours. These beat out Hoka and Altra for me. I also have Allegria and Wolky shoes, but these are the every day options. I’m 57, and I’m not easy on shoes. The fact that these have Gore-Tex means I can wear them in snow and rain and carry on with my day. Please continue to make this style of waterproof boot! There is a market for them!

I added another inner sole to provide additional support and am very happy with the results. The shoe looks as good as the site portrayed. I am very happy with the purchase. If you are looking for a stylish jeans type boot, this is the one you should choose. It met all of my expectations and more.

After wearing Xeros for several years, I expected more of a minimalist feel to them - definitely less sole to them than my Keen hikers, but not so thin that I’ll feel every rock i step on. These are still fairly stiff (I just got them), but I’m sure they’ll be everything wanting in a “minimalist” hiker once I have them broken in. Looking forward to many miles in these!

The boot is very comfortable - heel fits snuggly with plenty of room in the toe box. (I sized up from a 7 to 7.5) My foot didn’t move around and there was room for moderately cushioned hiking socks. No blisters or rubbing after a 4 mile hike on a slightly rocky path. Traction was good too … I was looking for a lightweight boot for shorter hikes and this boot seems like the right solution for me…. I’ve not tested how waterproof the boots are - or how durable the material is … but I like Merrell products and I’m very happy so far.
