I’m a size 9 and these are a perfect fit. The Nappa leather is a dream — these were wearable straight out of the box, no downtime for breaking them in necessary.

My first pair of Dr Martens, and I chose the Victorian floral for sentimental reasons and because they're fun. I was startled by how comfortable they are, right out of the box. That's probably because these boots have canvas uppers, rather than leather. At 55 years young, my feet seem to be growing or expanding, and I'm more of a size 8 now than my previous 7.5. I usually order a couple of sizes to ensure I get a good fit. In this case, the size 7 was definitely too small, and the size 8 feels comfortable and roomy enough for thicker socks, which is fine by me. I wear custom orthotics, which fit well into this boot and provide good arch support. No squeaking and no discomfort anywhere. My feet are happy in these fun and cheerful shoes!

I am so sorry to have to return these boots. They are beautiful! But I have a personal problem with my left leg/foot with swelling from a condition. Ironically the right boot fit perfectly. For anyone size 11, who has :normal ankles and feet, I highly recommend these for style, sturdiness and overall quality. Earlier I purchased a pair of boots from Zappo's which are fine because they were shorter. I cannot tie these all the way on my ledt foot, which is the reason I'm returning them.

These are my favorite docs!!! It took 2 days to break in and I haven’t taken them off ever since. Extremely comfortable and stylish too.

Let me start by saying that this is my first pair of docs and probably my favorite shoe/boot purchase this year. I LOVE these boots. As to comfort, there are numerous articles on the internet about docs needing a period of breaking in before they are comfortable. I did NOT have that issue and wore them in total comfort right out of the box. However, I bought the 1460 Napa leather and I've heard that this is more comfortable than the smooth, so maybe that's why I had no issue?? As to size, I think these boots run big. I am a true size 8 in shoes, almost without exception, and actually wear an 8.5 in my running sneakers. I have a normal width foot, not wide. In these boots, I originally bought the Size 6 (US size 8 equivalent). While I could have kept these, they were sloppy, gave me clown feet, and my heel slipped with every step. Honestly, they were just too big. I tried the size 5 (US size 7) and they fit perfectly. I wore them for hours on day one with no problems and love them! So my recommendation to everyone is to try either your true size (especially if your foot is wide) or one size smaller (if your foot is medium or narrow). If you are a half size, size down. So if you normally wear an 8.5, try the 8.0 US equivalent.

Love my new Docs! The black cherry color is beautiful--in some lights it looks like regular black, but in others you can more clearly see the lovely warm red seeping through. The leather seems high quality and the boots well made. They run true to size, or perhaps just a tad large. To address the issue several people have mentioned of the base of the tongue pressing against the top of their feet: I've had this happen only when I didn't lace the boots tightly enough. Lacing them tightly pulls the tongue up into the proper position and eliminates that problem. I've worn them a few times and am still breaking them in, but I love these boots already!

Dr. Martens Cherry Red Arcadia --- I love them. Exactly as they appear. The look, the color(gorgeous), the fit. They are funky. They are comfortable and the leather started to soften within a couple of days. I have been a fan of Dr. Martens for a long time and it is really nice to be able to put my feet into a new pair of shoes and just go. I have a high arch and never have a problem. Dr. Martens has always been reliable in that way. Worth the money.

These boots are very comfortable. I usually wear an 8.5 or 9 and sized down to an 8. I have a high arch so it was a little tough to get on at first but otherwise no other issues with the comfort of the shoe.

I usually wear a 7 1/2, so a 7 fit well. These are 1460W and usually that would mean wide, but these are not wide at all. I have a narrow foot and heel and they are perfect. Leather is really nice and I did not experience any issues wearing them all day the first time :) They look so bad ass! I am 21 years old

Love those boots. I have wanted a pair since the early 90’s! They are so cute and I have worn them with so many different outfits already. Adds a little edge to any outfit.

These boots are super cute. The fit and size were both good, however there is a ridge on the forefoot of the boot which causes the boot to be rather narrow and uncomfortable - I think this is because of the "patent leather" rather than softer leather.

I typically wear a 9.5 and my foot is a little on the wide side, so I sized up to a 10 in these. The foot of the boot fits very nicely on day 2. The patent leather on the shaft is very rigid and will take time to break in, as expected. I ordered the cherry red and the color is beautiful in person! Very deep black cherry color with highlights. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase, they match just about everything I own and are (and will be even more) comfortable.

I felt these were true to size in both length and width. My biggest surprise was that they didn't take very long to break in. After reading about the stiffness of the leather, I thought it would take two weeks to a month to break them in but, in fact, it took wearing them just 15 minutes a day without socks to get them up to speed. I wore them a whole day, after the short break-in period, without any problems. They have a look that makes certain jeans look very cool and hip and I'm sure with some kinds of skirts and dresses too. I think the softer they get the more I will pair them with things I haven't yet thought about. Happy about this purchase. For the record, I am almost 70 years old and these still hold their appeal. I wore them a long time ago and have returned to them because they have that feeling of youth and rebelliousness. To hell with age appropriate!

Need to mold to my foot but for the dreaded break in it was fine.

I love these!! I’ve had many doc knockoffs growing up but I’m finally getting the real thing and I’m very happy with them. Super cute and comfy and I’m looking forward to wearing them all the time!! With dresses, jeans, leggings, whatever!!!

I know from my own experience that Docs take a while to break in. With that said, my daughter ordered these. She loves them! She did have to wear double socks for the first week and I had her wear them at home a few days before wearing them to school. Now she loves them and says they're comfortable. They look darling with casual clothing as well as dresses and skirts (if you're under 30 lol),

Great quality you expect from Dr Martins! I still wear a 20 year old pair of these. This is actually purple as purple should be, not burgundy or maroon. Purple Boots!!

Love the style and how comfortable they are. I am usually a 6.5 in U.S and I chose the recommended size from Zappos which was a U.K 4, they were a perfect fit! I did take a bit to break one of them in, I have a very high arch and one shoe was a bit tighter on me around the top area because of this, I don’t believe it was the show’s fault, this seems to happen to me with many shoes. Once I wore them a few times, the leather gave in and now they feel better when I use them long periods of time. They really are beautiful. Zappos is always great at delivering quick as well!
