This boot takes forever to break in, but when it is broken in, it's perfect for years. If you live in a place with moderate winters, it's an excellent alternative to winter boots, the traction of the soles is impeccable.

I have a very difficult foot to fit - I wear an 8 1/2 wide, and I am on my feet all day, so I need comfortable footwear. I love this boot style, and tried it in the regular 1460 UK 6. That was comfy around the widest part of my foot (small toe) but too big in the ankle. I thought the 1460 W might work but it was smaller in the wide part of my foot and the ankle was still big. The leather wasn't soft, either and I was afraid I would be ultimately unable to wear them. Back they go, and the search continues.

Our daughter saw these in a store before Christmas and had to have them. Bought them for her through Zappos.com and had them under the tree. Sadly, when she opened the box, the boots were stained with black splotches that I hadn't seen before wrapping them. This was definitely a Doc Marten distributor issue, but was a shame that Zappos.com didn't check the quality of them prior to sending them to our house. Have to schlep them back to the post office for a return and try to find them elsewhere. Don't think that I will buy over the internet again since they are expensive and guess I need to be able to eyeball them first before the purchase. The product itself is very nice; the boot is built well and very cute.

These were so cute, and although they were very stiff at first I couldn't wait to break them in. Even with giant wool socks, though, they were way too large. I normally wear a size 7 or 7.5, and I'll go up to an 8 for Asics running shoes, but I needed to give these away and I'm going to reorder in a size 6.

I really wanted to like these, but I just can’t. It is obvious that these had already been returned once, judging by the complete lack of packaging and the confetti inside the box. The package was left in the rain by the carrier and the box was completely soaked. That’s beside he point, I guess. The left boot tongue was so stiff and weird that it made the front of the boot at the top of the foot mash down when you pull it up to insert your foot, and the leather is so stiff that there is no way this is going to easily break in. The right boot didn’t do that, so I feel like it is a design flaw. If I would have loved them, I would try again, but I just didn’t. I got a pair of Soda brand PU patent boots that fit and are so cute and comfy, for $35. I’m going to stick with those ;)

I normally wear 8-1/2 and I ordered these in an 8 which seemed to be the correct size. My problem with these Doc lights is they are still very heavy. They weigh 1.5 per shoe and I felt as if I was dragging my feet around. They are so cute but for this 70+ year old woman, too heavy. I'll stick with my Pikolino boots that weigh half that and have more support but still look coo.

I usually wear a size 8.5 M or W and the 8 in DM is a perfect fit. These boots look good and they are comfortable would need a few wear to totally break it in. I would have kept them if the toungue were not attached to the sides, and you cannot lift the flaps/tongue up and its pressing too hard onto your feet when you walk which makes them uncomfortable, makes them tight. Hard to put on and off.

These definitely run a bit small. The weather is beautiful and softer than the patent leather. I hope that means they will be easier to break in the worst thing about these is where the tongue attaches to the top of the shoe, inside. The seam protrudes, and is quite uncomfortable. I really hope this softens up as they break in.

I was so excited to finally get some docs on sale, but now I'm heartbroken. The bridge where the laces end is VERY low, making these shoes tight and uncomfortable. I wish they fit. They are beautiful.

It was way too narrow for me. The fit overall felt smaller than the jadon, even at the toes. It felt a size too small. While I want to order a size up, I feel it might still be narrow. Returning these unfortunately. The boots were super cute though.

The boot is really really cute. However, it was way too narrow and very hard.

I gave these to my daughter for Christmas 2021 and she's only worn them less about 6 weeks. The heel support inside the boot already broke down. Not impressed with the quality of this boot. Was able to get them replaced. Will see how the replacement holds up. If they hold up better, I will revise this review.

I really wanted to like these but they were very uncomfortable when I tried to walk in them.

These boots are heavy and not as comfortable as I thought for the price. I thought since they’re so expensive it would feel like walking on clouds, but no, that’s not the case. We’re creased after the first day use.

the size was good, felt true to size but there is no arch support.

Oh I much I wanted to love these!!! The style is so cool, timeless and hippy! But, oh my, the leather is thick and stiff and I was ready to bleed and suffer for about a month to break them in. But once I put them on… there was a huge stitching seam on the top inside, where the tongue is attached. It’s so rough, and sticking out so bad it’s like a sharp piece pressing the top of my foot. Who designed that???? So sad to return them.

Fit well, seemed like they would be comfortable without a lot of breaking in. Was just really worried with the material (black smooth) - looked oddly plastic and seemed like it would show every single scratch and scuff, and I'm hard on my shoes. Sadly returning, might consider another pair in a different material/color.

My high arch did not fit in this boot. Super nice boot, but my feet did not like them.

I brought my exact size and the tongue of the shoe hurt the top of my foot really bad. I think it’s the material however I could not walk for a long period of time they hurt my foot instantly!

I bought both the women's 7 and 8 in these boots, trying to find my size. The size 8 was fine except for the length (I'm a 7.5 in most shoes). I've always worn a UK 5/ US 7 in Docs, with room to spare. I thought the women's 7 in these boots would be great. The length & width were perfect, but the bottom seam of the lacing cut into the top of my foot so badly that I couldn't even take a step in these. The size 8 didn't have that issue, but the length was too much of a problem for me to keep them. I'll stick with the unisex UK 5 instead (I ordered those as well, but I returned them because Zappos sent me a used pair - so gross).

These are very comfortable but I am a true 9.5 . The size 9 was too small, I could feel my toes touch the end which I really don't like. I also ordered the 10 in this style which was a bit too big but I felt was a better fit. I really don't understand why such a popular company can't make shoes in half sizes...these are not cheap and supposed to last for years, you'd think they would make the right size available to the loyal customers. By the way- the style Sinclair runs bigger, I think I could have gone with the 9 but those are EXTREMELY heavy and uncomfortable and also rub really badly at the top of the zipper so I returned those as well.
