The mid height offers ankle support without adding too much extra bulk. These are my go to for spending all day on my feet.

I was looking for a hiking boot for wet conditions. Tried a few different brands before purchasing the Salomon Elixir Activ gtx mid. These are comfortable and have kept my feet completely dry in wet conditions. I had some hot spots initially on my heels which were alleviated with moleskin during the break-in period. Otherwise, they are comfortable, sturdy, lightweight and waterproof. I bought my usual size of 10.5 and they fit well.
