Great hiking shoes. My first pair lasted seven months. I average 80 to 90 miles of hiking a month. So they did a solid 600 miles. They are great in the rain, handle multiple types of terrain, and the speed laces are fantastic. These trail shoes are my new go to.

I have owned three pairs of the X Ultra 4 GTX wide and now on my first pair of X Ultra 5 GTX (wide). The design and materials on the uppers are much improved but the 5 is significantly narrower than the 4s. The sole is definitely narrower in the toe box (I measured it with calipers). And the toe box inside is tighter. I have worn them for about 3 months and they are still tight.

Another great pair of trail running and walking shoes. The shoes are flexible and provide comfort throughout.

Very comfortable and waterproof. Look is modern and clean.

I've never worn a pair of shoes that's given me so much confidence in every step I take on the trail. The Salomon X Ultra 5 was constructed with comfort and durability in mind. The toebox doesn't feel as tight or narrow as my previous version. Adding gore-tex waterproofing to the mix only solidifies the perfection. If you're hitting the trail these are a llifesaver!

I wear it in everyday life, I wear it for outdoor activities, what more could I ask for?

Took my first short hike in these. Just 5 miles, but they were perfectly comfortable. Glad they're waterproof, so I could step in an ice cold stream to rinse them off at the end.

Salomon claims this is shoe is wide. As someone who's used to Altra, I say that this claim is dubious. The good thing about this shoe is its traction.

Super comfortable design made for long distance. I love the water proofing good for any weather. I wish they had more colors

This is my second pair of Ultras and I cant say enough good things about these hiking shoes. I walked 500 miles on the Camino de Santiago in Ultra 4s. No breaking in needed and no foot problems. Very comfortable, great support and long lasting.

OMG comfort an understatement. Mind you this states a USA EE wide also notes Japan version a EEE (then again USA XL a Japan XXL). This is by far best shoe I ever purchased\d, both in comfort and quality of materials...especially snice I walk Siberian Husky lol. That siad, my stylish go to work shoe too!

Color and features are excellent. Would prefer a more robust lacing system.

These shoes fit and look great. Bought these for work because I do a lot of walking, and they are very comfortable.

I purchased these because I had purchased similar shoes in the past. The first pair I bought in the X series fit perfectly. The next one I bought had a painfully small toe box. I purchased these because they have "wide" in the title. They don't seem any wider than the last pair my X 360's. They both irritate my pinky toe. No more for me. I'm done.

Ive quite a few of Salomon shoes and the x ultra 5 is my new favorite. I also wear the x ultra 4 and while I like it I feel the 5 is a substantial improvement both in fit and comfort.

Great fit!(same size as my running non-wide Nikes)

I didn't keep these, they seemed to make the feet pronate a bit which hurt my knees.
