These shoes are very comfortable and attractive enough to wear as a dress work shoe.

Love this shoe! I have purchased this shoe in both the brown and the black and wear them just about every day. I have also received many compliments on this shoe and rate it as the "tops"! I have foot problems and had a lot of difficulty spending any time shopping due to foot pain, but NOT WITH THIS SHOE!

Very Comfortable - I love these shoes!! They are very comfortable and have saved my feet and knees. They are perfect if you are standing all day. Not really for the all day walking, but the all day standing these are perfect!! I love the look of the shoe, but the sole could look nicer. 5 stars!!

Look is better than the Feel! I fell in love with these shoes when I first saw them just because of the "look". This color is chic, sexy and o so flavorful. I wore these to work and was not that impressed. The upper part of the shoe fit great but it hugs my heel/ankle bone too much. I will give it another try by I will stick to my Dansko (professional) style for everyday wear...

Professional, Sassy and Sweet! The Dansko Mae shoes beat out my 4-inch stiletto pumps any day! Just as versatile -- but unquestionably more intelligent -- these shoes are kinder to my soles, ankles, knees and back. Thanks to this Zappos purchase, at the end of my work day, I have a whole new get-up-and-go.

GREAT "TEACHER" SHOE - I would highly recommend this shoe to anyone who has to be on their reet for the greater part of the day. I teach 2nd grade in a 6 story building and put quite a bit of mileage on my shoes. The toe box is shaped to be roomy and is stylish. My toes are not red when I remove my shoes after work. The placement of the strap allows for a snug, yet not constricting, fit. I love this shoe because in addition to being a very comfortable shoe, it is not heavyweight like some shoes with similar features, and is very stylish. I have received many compliments from fellow teachers, who have asked about my shoes.

Mae I have another? This classic Dansko is comfortable and is a great addition to a wardrobe that is professional and productive. Looks great with all trousers and transitions nicely from a casual workplace to a casual lifestyle. I like this shoe because I am a librarian and am up and down all day long. I can wear socks with these shoes or not and there is never a break-in period, my toes are not cramped, and my feet get plenty of support. Also, I think they are cool looking.

How much do I love these shoes?? So much! I bought them a little big so I could wear warm sox with them. They are so comfortable and look great with jeans or tights. The color is tomato soup red- delish!

A little painful: The part of the shoe that goes across the top of my foot, above my toes is pretty tight and because of the stitching it doesn't seem to want to stretch very much. I'm hoping it adjusts with time. The fit is spot on and they are super-cute.

I have had years of plantar fascitis and usually have to remove the innersole and replace with other insoles. Not so with Mae -- good arch support and soft landing for each step. Looks dressy enough for office, etc. Like the soles better than Marcelle, the clog sole which squeaks unbearably for me.

These shoes are so cute and are comfortable enough to stand all day long. I get compliments on them daily. I have a wide foot, and unlike other Danskos, my toes never felt squished. I wish the toe area had more padding underneath. The first couple of days the bottoms of my toes hurt. But since that, I've loved wearing these shoes!

Perfect instant comfort, durable, feminine. I own the Dansko Lotus in 2 colors & love them, but they are open one the sides & don't seem quite right for fall & winter. So got online & ordered the Mae in black. No worry about fit, as the sole is exactly like the Lotus. I had to put little Dr. Scholls for women heel liners in the Lotus, but these fit slightly differently in the heel & were just perfect right out of the box. I wore them out last night with tights & a skirt & they looked so nice- comfortable to live in but graceful & dressy. These shoes look very polished & clean in design. I know from experience with the Lotus that the leather is extremely durable, & any scratches clean up easily with shoe cream. Which means you don't have to save them for special occasions. If the Dansko lower sole, seen here, works for you, then any of their shoes on this sole will probably work for you. I emailed Dankso suggesting they do this shoe in an oiled leather, which would look more casual & better for daily wear with jeans. If you enjoy Dansko, I think you would revel in the comfort of this shoe. A word about Zappos - yes, the service is fantastic, but I'm tired of seeing "only 3 left!" in the order box every time I put something in my shopping cart. There can't ALWAYS be only 3 left. And they always deliver overnight & everyone knows it. So why say your order will arrive in 4-5 days, then send me an email saying, surprise, your order has been selected to be upgraded for free. They ALL are. Zappos has great service & faithful customers. Why this dissembling?

Great Shoe! I am a teacher and on my feet all day. I LOVE these shoes. I am comfortable all day and my feet do not hurt when I get home.

Mae rules! Mae, which I bought in chocolate and in black, is the mary jane I've been wanting for the past three or four years! The styling is understated and elegant (for a casual shoe). I'm a high school teacher, and Mae is the best possible style for an instructor who's on her feet eight hours a day.

I am so glad I read other reviews before buying the Mae, because you do need to size it down! I always wear size 38 or 7.5, in Dansko and other brands, but the 37 fit like a glove. Also, Dansko says that these are the "lowest heel" they make, but it's the same as all the clogs; it's not a flat.
