My foot is too wide for the base. The straps slip off. I said they're too narrow, but I need a wide.

I ordered a size smaller after reading reviews saying it ran large. Since Dansko often run long, I went down a size (9), but the sandal was way too short for me. It's confusing since some folks say it's large without specifying in length or width. For me, this shoe was way too short and too wide on medium narrow foot...even in the smaller size. I can see it working for my friends with high arches and/or wide feed.

Beautiful dark brown shoe!
I wanted Bridget to fit because I am looking for a high-quality dark brown comfort shoe that looks good with skirts. But Bridget didn't work out (although it is a lovely, very dark brown shoe!). I had hopes that since I could remove the footbed and install my own orthotics, it would work out, but it simply wasn’t made for someone with a wide foot. Because I wear a US size 11 and had to order the 42 in Bronte (WHEN is Dansko going to wise up on their sizing?), I could not go up a size, which might have solved the problem. Thanks to Zappos for letting me try it out.

Hard to describe...
These are comfortable shoes - ONCE they've been broken in properly, and not for walking long-distances. It took a few days to break them in, and even after that, I needed to wear "peds" with them or my heel would hurt. Problem with Peds is that the shoes become slippery, and my entire heel would lift out of the shoe (causing me to walk funny, and almost fall completely out of my shoe on many occasions) If there was a thin ankle strap to anchor the shoe on, these would be perfect.
However, now that they are totally broken in, I wear them without peds, and they seem to stay on better. I'd recommend buying a smaller size if you are a half size, to avoid "slipping out" of shoe. These are much cuter though than the ones WITH the little straps IMO. Very cute with "work clothes", I get compliments all the time on these.

Cute shoe, but "clunky"
I think this shoe is cute because it has that little bit of style in the detail across the front. However, it's rather heavy and a bit clunky. It appears to run about a half size too big, but that makes sense when you think about how other Dansko shoes (sandles and clogs) are supposed to fit. Dansko recommends that their clogs, for example, are roomy enough to allow your heel to come up out of the back of the clog as you walk. Because it is a closed shoe, this model would need to fit more closely to the foot. I ended up ordering a European size smaller than my Dansko clogs and sandals. The brown is so dark that it is hard to tell if the shoe is brown or black. It looks well-made and the leather is very nice.

I am HOPING to love these...
So far, they are pretty uncomfortable, but I really like the way they look and am accustomed to "breaking shoes in.” I usually wear an 8 1/2 in closed toed shoes and sometimes an 8 in sandals. The 9's were HUGE on me, and the 8's seem pretty good but tight with socks. They are pretty wide, so maybe that's why the 8's are working for me.
They look really cute on, and with other Danskos I've found they take a while to break in. They look really good with pants and jeans.

Great Shoe-
I am very happy with the "Bridget" it took a little getting use to but once my feet adjusted I noticed that my legs and ankles feel a lot better at the end of the day. I would recommend this shoe...

Pretty, but loose -
This shoe says on the site that it's supposed to feel big and your foot will come up in the back with every step. It's not a comfortable way to walk and the backs of my feel are cut up. I'm pretty sure they'll get more comfortable over time, but I'd recommend getting a smaller size.

I love the look of this shoe, it's just what I was looking for; so when I received it and found that my heel was way, way up in the shoe and it was terribly uncomfortable I was disappointed to say the least. This got me to looking at it, and I noticed that the innersole came out easily, and parts of the innersole were an inch high! So...I tried it without the innersole; perfect! Fits right, stays on, doesn't lift up at all. The sole and heel are so soft, the additional inch of foam inside doesn't seem necessary! I'm going to try this-we'll see how it goes ... and I think Dansko should change the innersole they use with this shoe to make it more wearable.

I get a ton of compliments on these every time I wear them. I wanted something very comfortable but still dressy enough to look professional and polished. The leather over the top of the foot seemed a bit tight and was a little painful at first, but these are the most comfortable shoes for the bottoms of my feet I have ever worn. I am on my feet 12- 16 hours a day in a vet hospital and my biggest problem was the bottoms of my feet hurting so bad I couldn't even walk half way through the week. You won't be running anywhere in these, but they offer the best cushion I have found anywhere. They are much more comfortable after being broken in and the leather stretched over the top of my foot. I wouldn't recommend wearing them 16 hours the first day or if you have wide feet, but overall I am very pleased with them.

Pretty, but uncomfortable and impossible to walk in.
I love the look of these, and the fact that they make my legs look 3 miles long. Also, they have the comfiest heel support of ANY shoe I've ever worn. However, the heel is high enough where you get pitched forward onto the balls of your feet, and there isn't much padding there, so it becomes painful after a while. They're a little big on me, and slip off my heels with every step I take, making walking pretty impossible. One size smaller is too small, and pinches my toes beyond tolerance. One of the similar styles with straps across the top of the foot would work in a larger size, but you would still have the problem of being pitched forward onto the unpadded balls of your feet.

Nice to look at, but a little hard on my toes -
I think these shoes are really nice looking, but my toes are squished in the front. I also get a line across the top of my feet. I am hoping that there is a little stretch in the leather with wear, but they are kind of hard to want to wear right now.

Great Work Shoe -
This is a great shoe to wear to work. I live in my Dansko clogs due to knee and hip injuries and I needed a 'dressier' clog to wear to work. I can wear these shoes with all my slacks and more casual work clothes, and I am still comfortable and pain free by the evening. Other reviews comment that the shoe does have heel slip as the other clogs do - this is true and can be annoying. I have only worn these with socks, so I don't know how they would behave otherwise. I recommend these strongly for those who are reluctant to abandon their clogs for heels.

I'm glad I bought them!
While I wish that the shoe came in a 1/2 size larger (the 38 were too big or I settled for the 36), I am mostly satisfied with the shoe. I have managed to break them in wearing socks, which has worked out okay. I do love the look of them; they go with dresses or pants, a nice addition to my professional wordrobe.

I had to break in the shoes for a couple of days. The shoes pressed on my little toes, the right one particularly. I was not sure I could keep the shoes because they hurt my feet, but they continue to feel better as I wear them. I have received several compliments on the shoe. Because of the 2.5 inch heel I believe there is more pressure on the shoe box and Dansko may want to widen it a bit in the future.

Love These Shoes -
These shoes are currently the most comfortable shoes I own. They are not as feminine as I might like, but they are still stylish enough to wear with skirts, suits, and dressy slacks. I love the bouncy feel of the soles.

Dansko Bridget -
These shoes hurt the balls of my feet if I wear them all day. (although I am on my feet most of the day. I do however like how they are more flattering than most Dansko's, they don't look as wide as my others. I also like them with capris and skirts.

Most comfortable dress shoe?
It just might be! While the Bridget isn't as perfectly comfortable as the other more traditional Danskos I own, this is the best I've experienced from a dress shoe. It runs a little big (not sure if the size or width was a little big), but I am still able to wear the size I originally ordered. I'll continue wearing this pair when I have to work events that require me to be on my feet all day and also when I walk to parties in the city. I'm very satisfied with the style and comfort.

I have 10 pairs of Dansko shoes. I bought Belinda (A Mary Jane type on the same bottom) before and it was good for daily wear. I wanted a dressier style so I bought the Bridget for my interview. 3 blisters the first day!!! The walking distance was just from the parking lot to Human Resources, back and forth. I was thinking about sending them back, but I really like the way they look - they are too beautiful to be returned.

Dansko Bridget -
I know heels are supposed to lift up in Danskos, but in this one heels actually lift out, making it feel like flip flops (even with a half size smaller.) Its a beautiful shoe. Maybe if it had ankle straps it would stay on better.

I had been wanting these shoes for almost a year and finally decided to buy them. They look gorgeous, but as soon as I put them on - ouch! I actually wear a 10.5 and got a size 11. Even with the removable insert they're uncomfortably tight. When I took the insert out, my feet kept sliding down and I had to curl my toes to keep them from hurting. I think I have finally solved the problem by inserting another insert from another shoe...
We'll see - still I love the look of the shoes

The only Danskos I haven't liked -
I wear pretty much nothing but Danskos--Professional, Arabella, Flora, etc., low and high--and besides a pair of Solveigs that my mom gave me, which are not my size, these are the only ones I've ever found uncomfortable. Like others who've reviewed this shoe, I find that (a) it slips off my foot too easily, because all the weight's at the back and there's no strap to keep them on, and (b) I get pins-and-needles in the ball of my foot if I have to stand in them for long. It's too bad, because I really needed a pair of comfortable black pumps; these aren't them.

Very cute, but a horrible pain -
I bought these from Zappo's about a year ago along with a pair of Dankso Professionals. I LOVE the professionals, but the Bridget is extremely uncomfortable after extended periods of wear. I'm in med school and I only wear these on days when I know I'll have more lecture hours than rounds b/c after about 1 1/2 hours, the balls of my feet are stinging so bad that I have to dance back and forth just to get the pressure off of my feet. I think the heel is probably too high, which is a bummer because they look great ... much more professional and trendy than some of the lower heeled Danskos.

Didn't like the Bridget -
I tried this shoe in two sizes and neither one is comfortable to walk in. The fact that the shoe is made to slip off your heel just doesn't work in this style as there is not enough coverage at the front of the shoe to keep it comfortable. I really wanted to like them because they look great, but I'll be returning both pair.
