The size 9 was too large. The size 8.5 is too small. Construction quality not great. Frye's doesn't seem to be what it was.

I’m between sizes 12/13 and needed to go down for a more snug fit, knowing the leather will also stretch a little bit.

They’re awesome shoes. Pure, high quality leather. I have to say that for me, they ran a little small. I had to exchange a few pairs before I found the right fit.

I am normally a 9, sometimes 9.5. I tried this in a 9 and could not get my foot into the shoe.

This was the most expensive of the shoes that I tried and my least favorite in terms of fit. A shoe horn was required to get into this shoe, but once in, the shoe felt more or less true to size. That said, it was not an easy shoe to put on and take off. The shoe felt a bit awkward when walking in it. I couldn't put my finger on the exact reason, but it felt unbalanced.
The leather was nice, but not soft, so it is going to take a while to break these in to the point were a shoe horn is unnecessary.
