I have been a loyal buyer of Gel Res for several years and this new version is just off in terms of what I come back for. The toe box is huge ,to the point that it looks awkward, and it moves just like it looks. I have to loosen the laces or they hurt, but that doesn't feel secure. I am disappointed these aren't my standby anymore.
I'd also recommend:
Nike Vapors seem better for flat footed tennis players

The shoe has a lot of great cushion heel and ball of foot. I felt good support support. However, I have a bunion on one foot, and I felt and was afraid, there will be no "give" even after a lot of wearing time. I wore them one

I loved the look and feel of the shoe but even the wide in my size was too narrow. I'm disappointed I had to return them.

Have not worn these shoes for three singles matches and they feel great and have really impacted speed of my movement on court in a very positive way. In addition, the cushioning feels very comfortable and supportive.

Previously purchased this shoe in a regular width. I purchased another a few months afterwards and it felt narrow. The current wide is feels the same as the old regular width.

Still the one: I have had many pairs of asics. They are my favorite sneaker for tennis and pickleball. My only issue with asics is that I wear out the area under the ball of my foot quickly. I have to buy 2 to 3 pairs a year. This style runs narrower than other styles and feels a bit heavier. It still gives great support and gives me the comfort I'm looking for.

I liked the overall fit of the shoe however it was much too tight across the front top of my foot - the area that cannot be loosened by laces. I have narrow feet that are not overly large so this seems like an unusually slim design to me.

hard plastic: I miss the days when Gel resolutions used to be good out of the box with no break in period. The plastic on the top of the shoe (but only on my right shoe) is hard and makes noise everytime I step. I am hoping it breaks in over time.

Thought they’d be good but they contributed further to my pronation. Looking at the back view of the shoe, the literally slant inwards. Not the same as past Resolution, which I liked (although they were similarly 3 star reviewed on Z)

The wide is NOT wide, definitely fits more narrow at the toe box. Great quality shoe, but not the right fit. If you size up, it will just be longer, not wider.

I can't tell if the shoe feels a half size small or if it is just because the shoe is so stiff. This shoe is definitely not going to let your foot move in it and feels like it would take a long time to break it in, if ever. I like the gel sole that Asics offers, so still trying to find the right Asics shoe for PB.
