I just didn’t find them comfortable enough to justify the $160 price. I think the straps were too weak for the heaviness of the shoe, and they felt like they wouldn’t hold up fo the life of the shoe. I have several pairs of Dansko and one with a strap, which is leather and sturdy.

My right foot sort slides up and down unless I wear my thick Thorlo socks with them, and they aren’t the style for socks….more like tights. I am debating on whether to return them. For the price, they should fit perfect.

I wear a size 8 and ordered the 7.5/8 and it was true to size and fit well. However, even with the wine color being on sale for under $100, I'm disappointed with some of the choices Dansko made, specifically with the strap and how the fabric on the back of the shoe looks. If I'm going to drop nearly $100 on a pair of shoes, I'm looking for a high quality, sturdy, well designed shoe that will last a long time. Everything was mostly great about the shoe except for (1) the strap/fastener. I knew ahead of time it was a velcro closure but the velcro seems weak and not strong, I could easily see it wearing out at some point in time and not working. I wish Dansko chose to use a buckle and a strap with multiple holes. And (2) the fabric on the back of the shoe has an intentionally odd finish, it gives the shoe a long worn or used look and I don't like that. However, the color is great in person, the outsole is well made to last a long time, and the insole felt comfortable. The shoes felt comfortable right away and the toebox was nice, my toes definitely did not feel tight or cramped all. All that being said, the shoes are being returned.
