Wearing them just a short time made my back and legs hurt! The Bondi 8 is the only shoe I've found that I can wear all day without discomfort or pain in my legs and back.

This Hoka shoe fit great and also think it helped with my balance. I ordered another pair in a different color. Previous had been wearing New Balance 1080, but have switched over to the Hoka for reasons listed above

What a disappointment! As a Bondi wearer for many many years, changes have been made to the Bondi 9. Obvious change is no loop. But it feels as tho the lateral heal/arch support is not the same. I will search for Bondi 8 until they run out and search for a new shoe to wear

Great sneaker. I just don't feel it is worth the price. There is absolutely nothing special about the sneaker.

This Hoka Bondi 9 is true to size. I have a very narrow foot and after reading your reviews of Hokas--I picked this to order. It fits beautifully on my narrow size 10 feet. It is very comfortable and has a lot of cushioning.

I tried this brand because I have heard fabulous things about it. Personally I don’t get it. I can’t see spending almost 200. 00 on a regular pair of sneakers. Returned.

I loved the first pair of Hokas I bought for exercise, but over time I was developing corns on my pinky toes. Ordering this pair in a wider width was the perfect solution. Now, I have the wonderful support of Hoka, but without the pinching of my toes. Now, I know --- buy Hoka in wider widths.

I bought a 7.5 wide. What I tried on did NOT feel wide at all! The shoes are cute. They fit like any other 7.5 fits me. But if you are looking for wide shoes - Keep Looking! I have the Bondi SR 7W and thought these would be nice for the summer with the mesh top. SO WRONG! The Bondi SR is like walking on a cloud, fits perfect! Avoid the Bondi 9 W if you are looking for a wide shoe.

This did NOT feel wide AT ALL. I kept these shoes because initially, they felt better than my old shoes. I have been wearing them for a week now and my feet are killing me. My pinkie toes are feeling squished all the time, even when I wear thin socks. I probably can't return them because I've worn them too much already. It's totally bizarre how the Bondi SR 7W feels so good and this Bondi 9 7.5W just does NOT! I'm saving up for a new pair of shoes and these will make someone else very happy, I hope!

Love the shoes, just not completely satisfied with overall feel of shoe, which is probably due to some foot problems I have.

Size and fit were as expected. Love that I have multiple colors to choose from. These are now my every day shoes. Both my orthopedist and podiatrist recommended this brand. My podiatrist suggested the Bondi model due to the neutral support it provides. Was able to easily place my custom orthotic in these shoes after removing the Hoka supplied insert.

Only sneakers I can walk 5-6 miles in comfortably. Have been wearing them in all of their different iterations for years and these are great, less clunky than the Bondi 8.

These shoes are perfect - worn constantly brand new walking all around Manhattan. no breaking in required with Hokas.

These Bondi 9s feel bulky and feel like you’re walking in mud. It feels hard to move forward. The plentiful cushioning works against you. The tongue is not compliant in that it won’t stay up when I try to put my foot in the shoe. It makes it difficult to put them on. I think these shoes might be good for standing but not good for walking.

The shoe immediately felt comfy when I put it on. It looks rather large and like a moon-walking shoe, but I am pain free, so that's a win!

I have I think an odd problem with these shoes. They look great and generally feel good, EXCEPT that there is a feeling that the shoes are too narrow that comes entirely from the stiffness of the logo on the outer side of the foot. Even when I tried the wider size, the logo was stiff and again caused rubbing. I’m not sure if anyone else has had this issue, but it seems like it should be really easy for Hoka to fix and would be so worth it. Especially as the shoe seems generally to be so great for walking and as the wider size doesn’t come in as many of the cute colors.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Writing the review that would have helped me most when making a decision to purchase. I had read many helpful reviews here (Zappos rocks!), on the Hoka site, and elsewhere since the Bondi 9 was first available. I have some knee issues and plantar fasciitis issues and the Bondi 8’s have been the only shoe that have gave me the comfort I needed for walks and occasional runs. I have owned so many pairs of them over the years and wear them until they wear out. I ordered some of the final 8’s on sale when they were sunset to put off having to try the 9’s bc I had read the style had changed and I knew what I had gone through to find the 8’s and was concerned the 9’s might not address the issues in the same way. Finally, I had to buy the 9’s bc my last 8’s wore out. By this point, I’d put it off long enough that I could read many more reviews, which was helpful. I did what a few people said and ordered a Wide size of my normal Hoka size since folks said they were more narrow (that turned out to be a great decision fit-wise, btw). Some reviews said they were more plush and comfy when you put them on that the 8’s. Other reviews said people’s feet hurt after wearing them a while and they didn’t have enough cushion. I was confused. How could there be more cushion and also not enough cushion in the same shoe model? I can now report that both of those things indeed are true. For me, when I first tried the 9’s on, they felt more plush and comfy than the 8’s ever did, which was a high bar, and I was very encouraged. This applied well into my first outdoor walk in the shoes (past return window now), probably for 1.5 miles of brisk walking. However, by the end of my first long walk, my feet hurt. They have never hurt when wearing any other Hoka or Brooks runner and they hurt in spots they hadn’t before. It was a sore and aching feeling. It especially hurt where my arch is as I have high arches, but other parts of my foot ached after long walks. Yesterday, I tried running in the 9’s for the first time and my experience was that I couldn’t even tell I had on Hokas. It felt to me like any other running shoe in terms of support to the point that I discontinued my run. So, after spending the money for the 9’s, I am scouring the internet for any remaining 8’s in stock anywhere bc these are not the same shoe. I think my running shoe journey has to completely restart now and I don’t understand why Hoka made these changes in such a substantial way. I rarely write reviews but I wish I had known these things bc these are expensive shoes. I hope this helps someone. Thanks.
