My 8th or 9th pair - NO TRACTION AT ALL. I slipped and fell repeatedly with the brand new grey version of this show with the white bottom

I ordered 9 pairs of shoes and these were the ones I kept! Love the style (purple and orange), love the feel. They also have a cool thing where they get a little wider near the toes, instead of getting skinnier - which I like a lot. LOVE THESE!!!!

I ordered a men’s size 7 W for my big 10-year-old. I did not receive 7 W, but rather a 7 M. This is the second time that I have ordered this shoe in black and received the wrong width. It’s like W doesn’t even exist? Anyway, we will be keeping the 7 M. My kid’s feet seem to have slimmed down over the summer. He has a high instep and a pretty chunky foot. At least compared to other kids his age. The Lone Peak model is our go-to in sneakers. It fits right out of the box every time basically. And the quality is pretty good, even if it has changed over the years.

Seems like these run a half size big. I ordered the smaller size, and they fit great.

If you’re looking for a zero drop shoe or close to a zero drop, you must consider this brand. The shoes are immensely comfortable. They are a bit unusual in appearance because of their extremely wide toe box, think of them as a normal sneaker with a Birkenstock toebox appearance . If you can live with the look, you will stay for the extreme comfort. Since the shoe is not pushing your overall weight forward, you will walk with your shoulders back and perhaps an improved posture. Zero drop will cause you to use other muscles , it may require some getting used to, but overall maybe your comfort and your gait will improve. Anyway, that was happily my result.

These Altra's have a decent amount of cushioning and good traction. (I did not experience the slippery treads noted in other reviews.) After using them on asphalt, concrete, and several trails, I think they work well as trail running or light hiking shoes. The wide toebox allows the toes to splay, but looks a bit odd. The shape would work well with toe socks, if that's your thing. Arch support was moderate so I added a thin, rigid insole. I have narrow feet and the insole also took some of the width out, which worked for me. The laces are textured and stay tied. So far the build quality is fine but it's only been a couple of weeks.

I purchased the 7.5 men's wide and they are too narrow. Altra says they are a 2E width (extra wide) but they are not.
