Have loved running in the Flow. It's been nice to try running in something different from what I've grown accustomed to in the Riveras. I think I'll wear this shoes after particularly fast workouts to give my calves a bit of a breather.

This is the Altra shoe I have been waiting for. I love the fit of Altras and how neutral they feel compared to other brands, but IMO a soft midsole does not work well with zero drop. This shoe fixes that issue with the 4mm offset. I immediately loved shoe, it feels very natural, stable, and soft without being too soft/mushy. The toe box is very wide and the rocker is more subtle than I expected. The shoe has a nice flex. This still felt like an Altra in the best way. True to size, if between sizes, size down.
Two issues I have: 1) The stack feels a bit lower than 32/28 especially after 5 miles or so but it wasn't harsh so no star deduction. The shoe could stand a few more mms in stack. 2) I do not like the color choices or the two color upper they went with. I bought the all black to avoid the other strange options. I would love to see some more neutral options.
All in all this is a great shoe, highly recommend.

I have heard many great things about Altra shoes, so I was so excited to try this shoe. It's super comfortable, and I would argue the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I feel like I can be on my feet all day wearing this without any complaints. I highly recommend now to my friends and family. Disclosure: Altra kindly gave me this Men's Experience Flow for free so that I could review it.

I love the details that this running shoe has. It has cushion on the sides of your ankle for stability. These shoes have the perfect amount of drop allowing for an easier run. The toe box is roomy without being too wide.

Its great for running. Kinda narrow to the width but its ok. I ussually have size 9 but on this one i think i should pick size 9.5 or size 10. Over all its 4.5/5. Great shoe. I would recommented for my family

I love these shoes! The first day was a little rough wearing them in, but now they fit like a glove and the cushioning makes a world of difference in both my back and hips. It feels like walking on a cloud. I wore these over the weekend on a trip and they saved my feet. Great quality shoe.

I have had the Men's experience flow running shoes from Altra for about a week and these are some of the most comfortable shoes I have had. Nice soft cushioning on the bottoms but still feels like they give good support. Almost has a spring like feel making running easier on my knees. Really happy with these shoes so far. They broke in quickly and I have zero discomfort

I've bought other shoes from Major running brands but could never find the right fit, in the toe area specifically. The experience Flow were different. As soon as I put my foot in I knew these were the ones. The toe box is excellent, I wish all running shoes were like this, but I understand every foot is relatively different. Some may feel that the midsole is a LITTLE snug, but I feel it's perfect, it keeps my foot from sliding inside the shoe. This is my first Altra shoe and I am now a lifetime supporter.

Another one! Great underfoot rocker, 4mm drop and easy to wear on the run or all day long. Still with the Altra footshape and room for my toes. I really like that Altra keeps introducing new shoes but still is keeping true to the footshape and comfort.

I'm using this as my daily trainer, eating up my bulk miles. The shoe forms to my foot beautifully. It's light enough to do picks up and protective enough for long runs and everything in between.

I am a female who has been running over the last year, and what I loved about the ultra experience flows was that I have a wider 4 foot and the wide tow box was great at accommodating my wider 4 foot without compromising on comfort during my runs. I started off with the original experience clothes, I had to wear the men's shoes because of the wider toolbox that the men's shoes were providing as opposed to the female shoes. I just got the experience flow to during the sale, and unfortunately, they don't fit the same as the older model. I can already feel the discomfort on the outer part of my foot despite my buying the same size I wore before. It really saddens me when brands change the fit of a shoe, which causes me to have to start all over again with finding a quality running shoe.

These are a really comfortable everyday wear for me. Only thing I would hope for is for them to be a bit more breathable on warm days.

Very comfortable and great to run in! I put a lot of miles on my shoes, and these are going strong after a couple hundred! The only downside is they get dirty easy and they are hard to clean, but who cares! These shoes do tend to give me a couple more minor blisters than some of my other Altra shoes.

I wear at men's 10 in another style of Altras but the 10 was too small in this style. The length is ok, but the width starts at the wrong point and my little toe is squished.

I've been rocking these shoes for a few months now, I slowly transitioned to zero drop, I've been wearing zero drop boots(lone peaks) and xeros(dif brand) for a while, but haven't run much in zero drop. I have to say that these shoes are extremely comfortable, and they really feel like they keep my feet in line while running. Th eyeballs offer a good support on the sole, and the cushion is decent. My only complaint, and this is a me specific complaint, is that they are slightly narrow if you have wide feet. I'm not a crazy hardcore runner, I do about 1-2 runs a week ranging from 1.5-3 miles. I have noticed that my big toes get irritated after running because they are slightly narrow for me. However, if they offered this in a wide option I'd 100% give them a five star. I've since upgraded to the torin 8's in a wide, and they feel amazing, and are zero drop, haven't run in them yet so won't mention too much. If you have an average sized foot and are slowly transitioning into the zero drop running shoe, these are a great option at only 4mm.

Going from 0 drop to this 4mm drop, I would just wish the toe box would come in original shape. Even though STD shape, it feels different from Torin 7(also STD shape).

I was hoping these would work for me. I have neuropathy in my feet. I love the toe box but there was no arch support. I purchased an arch support that helped but then on my left foot the inside rubbed too much. I have to return them:( I am so sad because they felt so good on my toes and bottom on my foot.

Improved breathability compromises upper support. Laces are WAY too long. Cushioning is typical Altra. Toe box comfy as always. Ugrade from last year's model? tbd

Love the shoe, so comfortable. One thing I don't like is the material, gets extremely dirty and does not wash clean. Maybe you should consider another material so they can stay clean.

I tried a pair of these on at a local shoe store recently out of curiosity. I have the original FWD shoe that I purchased when they first came out and reviewed some time ago. I wanted to see if Altra had changed anything that I found to be problematic. Over time, I've compared my FWDs and my Torin 7, as well as the Torin Luxe, which aren't available (or I'd be ordering a pair right now). Those 2 are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had from any manufacturer. While the FWD is shown as having the Standard (width) foot shape as the Torins do, they are noticeably snugger.
I had hoped that might have been changed a bit in this new version, but they're virtually identical. I had previously rated the original FWD as a 5 because for those not interested in a zero-drop shoe but want a natural foot shape, they were ideal. Zero drop turns into negative drop for me if I rock back on my heels as I sometimes do. That can cause some back discomfort if I'm not careful. But the Torins are so comfortable that I just try to avoid rocking back, which isn't that hard to do. I consider the Torins as an all-day shoe, whereas the FWDs are activity-specific, and I have to wear thin-ish socks to keep my feet comfortable. The Torins accommodate a greater range of sock thickness/cushioning. All of this is coming from the perspective of someone who is a vigorous walker, not a runner, so others may feel differently. But a half size larger from what you wear in other Altras may be a good idea. But whether that would add the additional volume that the FWDs seem to lack is unknown. I am conflicted as I wanted a non-zero-drop shoe with the cushioning of the Torin7, which I find to be the best of any shoes I've tried, but the overly snug feel of these just makes me realize how much nicer the Torins are.

What's great? -- the fit and the zero drop. I have duck shaped feet. Altra's are the first sneakers ever to fit my feet. With other brands I'd have to go up 2 sizes to get the width and then I'd be tripping over the excessive shoe length. Thank you Altra for accommodating wide feet. Even though I've noticed some of your shoes getting narrower. The Experience Flows are still wide.
What's not great? -- every pair of Altra's I have owned, including this one are very slippery on wet surfaces. I do not run in my Altra's when the ground is wet.

Just completed my first run in these. I have run in Altras on and off for many years and have always been a fan. The Tok a backseat in my rotation to Newtons but I have been revisiting. This shoe is more firm and has more energy return than my Torin 7s, which I like. They do fit a bit more snug but still pretty comfy.
I see a lot of comments about a lack of durability for Altras nowadays and that's shame. For me however this remains to be seen. In the mean time, I'll continue to run in these.

Ultraflow experience shoes are very very comfortable great size great fit the only gripe that I have with the issue is that the tongue should have been put in place it likes to slide back and forth even though the laces are in that little hole on the tongue it's still slides back and forth other than that it's an awesome shoe

I thought for the first 100 miles these were the perfect shoe. I have been running 2k miles a year for about 6 years. I jumped around brand to brand and found altra to be my favorite fit. I loved these but they seemed to squish out and be bottoming out after 150 miles. If altra could make this shoe this weight that lasted 400+ miles they would have me for life. Now I'm back in the dreaded shoe hole of looking for something that meets the light nimble comfortable at any pace any distance but has at least a little durability.

Great shoe, but definitely best for recovery days, or for slow long runs. I have flat feet though. Medium bounce, but great cushion. They are definitely better than new ultra boosts and and NB 1080s, but once again these are not "fast" shoes. If you want a comfy ride and a good long walking shoe, this would be a great choice. Breathability is fine and they seem to hold up well after completing ~50 miles. No heel slippage too.
