The shoe is nice and stylish, and I like the lighter colors, but the fit is in my opinion not very comfortable. The cushioning is virtually unnoticeable. It has a very flat feel to it. I do have high arches, but King mentioned before was not comforting.

Poor arch, poor wear. Didn't fit well at toe box.

The shoe looks good, but one shoe, the foot/heel opening lip hits my ankle bone (the part that protrudes above the shoe opening). This makes for a painful walk, so I inserted a thin gel insert. That took care of the ankle pain, but it causes the toe box on that shoe to be too small and forces my toes to rub together, and makes a different pain. I've never had a pair of shoes fit so inconsistently where one shoe fits so differently than the other shoe.

Love Love Love this shoe, I have had the same shoe for the last 3 models and they are great. This one is great too but the sizes are off by 1/2 too small. So I have to return it to get a 1/2 size larger. And guess what? Zappos doesn't do exchanges anymore. So boo hoo for me, I have to return them and then repurchase them 1/2 size bigger and they are no longer on sale so I have to pay more. Shoes are great but Really Frustrated at the change in sizes for this new model and Zappos for not doing exchanges when the shoe is off by a 1/2 size.

I've worn a size 10 in Mizuno shoes for many years, and love the Wave Riders, so I bought two pairs of the 28s in size 10. I wore them each a few times without thinking about sizing until I realized my toes were tingling and the fit was tighter than expected. A comparison against my size 10 Mizuno tennis shoes confirmed that a 10 of the Wave Rider was significantly shorter. Now I'm stuck with shoes I can't wear comfortably due to inconsistent sizing. Disappointed.

These shoes are causing immense pain to my feet and joints anytime I run with them, and the pain lasts for at least a day after each run. I have also developed foot blisters running with these shoes. I don't understand if they are deformed, as I have always gotten the Wave Rider model since 2013 with no issues. But unfortunately I can no longer wear this model for running or walking. I would be willing to return these shoes for a partial refund, or at least to check if there is something wrong with my particular pair.

I have bought many versions of the Wave Rider over the years, as it has been my primary running shoe. I am so disappointed with the 28. I bought one pair (ordered online) and when it was delivered, although it clearly said 8.5 on the inner tag, felt incredibly tight when I put them on. My toes were crunched in and I knew I couldn't run in them. I figured that in all manufacturing there can be slight defects and maybe I got a defectively small pair. I ordered another and they just arrived and it is the same issue, so clearly it is the current make, unfortunately. So disappointed with this shoe that I have been buying and wearing for years :( Time to explore other options, I guess. If you're going to buy it you may want to size up.

This is my 10th purchase of the wave rider series, and my least favorite of all. The shoe seems to have a bulkier sole, is less flexible and heavy than all previous versions. Need to consider making a change after over a decade of loyalty.

Long time Wave Rider fan here, started with WR11 and never had any issues until WR21-22 was redesigned to be narrower. Switched to the 2E model and then had to switch to the half size bigger for the WR26. Apparently, new WR28 was redesigned again and it's more narrow than WR26. Considering that Mizuno USA does not offer free return shipping make sure to test the shoes before you by them.

I have worn Mizuno running wave riders for years. I ordered a new pair off the website and took them with me on vacation. As I was wearing them I realized they didn't fit as well as usual. I accidentally ordered the 2E shoe but it didn't even say it was "wide". Just wasted money on a pair of sneakers I won't wear. Very frustrated

Mizuno has made their foam softer recently. The new foam crushes downward and stretches your leg. I have always used mizuno, looks like I will have to find a new brand.

I've been wearing and loving MIzuno Wave RIders for many years but the new men's 28 is HORRIBLE! I've worn them three times and it's like running on plywood shoes--no cushioning and feels like worn-out shoes! My back is killing me--my "old" 25-27s are still better. Don't know if I'll ever wear these again. What a waste of money and anticipation! I wear a size 16 and weigh 215 so they should have been perfect. Would have rated a "0" if possible.
