These are utterly beautiful shoes and they make me feel beautiful when I wear them. A few things that I’ve noticed with these shoes: 1) they do run a bit large. 2) the satin insole is very slippery and, because they run large, my feet slide around in them. 2) after a year of wear, the velvet has ripped apart at the tip of the toe (although keep in mind, I did wear these nearly every day all winter long). Overall, the shoes are stunning and the materials feel luxurious.

A little loose overall

I am a 7 1/2 and ordered 8 after reading reviews returning for a 7; they will stretch a bit after wearing

The fit is fine except in the heels. My feet flip on out the shoes at the heels. I am waiting for heel inserts to see if I can then keep these otherwise comfortable shoes on my feet. If I cannot, I will return them.

Overall, great quality . It was slightly too big . The shoes I received were used , so I had to returned them.

I love the Starling and have 3 pairs. I ordered the black velvet and they fit a bit differently this time. They are too wide. I might return them for a 10. I have very long and thin feet.

Love the feel, but my regular size is too large.

I thought they were cute until I tried them on. I did not like the style so returned them. I like comfort plus style. They were comfortable but lacked style in my opinion

I bought these shoes for a wedding. Felt comfortable when I tried them on but after wearing them a very short time the heel portion of the flat was too wide/loose and my heels kept coming out of the back part of the flat making me trip. A narrow width shoe would not have fit in the toe area. Very disappointed in the fit of the flats.

I really liked the look of these. They were a little snug but figured they might stretch after breaking in. But the deal breaker was the fit of the heel. The shoe was snug, the heel leans into the back of my heel and slipped up & down with each step. A blister causing problem for sure. Too bad because I really wanted them. I will be returning.

Purchased the the pine color in the Starling. Love the color. The felt is glossy and pretty. Love the style. They are casual dressy shoes. I would wear these in the fall and winter months due to the felt / velvet finish. The sole, however , is flimsy and floppy, and does not give me much support. Feels almost like an indoor slipper. Definitely not worth the $110 that they are being sold for. Sending them back, which makes me sad because it is a nice looking shoe.

Love the design and quality of these shoes. I could really use these in my life. Lots of dressy events to attend where velvet flats would be the perfect way to get through a lot of standing and chatting cocktail parties. I am so sorry that they run too wide to even keep on my feet. Darn

This is the third pair of Birdies I’ve bought. I love the velvet. I loved my first two pairs. These are supposedly a size 7. The left foot fits like a 7, the right foot fits like a size 8. I’m not sure how two shoes that are both stamped “7” in the same pair fit so very differently. Will be trying to exchange. For what this costs for a pair of flats, I expect good quality control and for sizing to be consistent.

Way too small. I wear 10.5 and ordered 11. Couldn’t even get my foot in the shoe.
