I usually am not this vocal but I love this boot, I almost fell asleep with them on. What a great insole, what a great look. I love them!

I wanted to give these boots a shot because they do have an attractive modern design for a hiking boots. Unfortunately I did not get that instant feeling of "YES" when i tried them on. I will give Marell a shot with their classic MOAB once they arrive.

Got this shoes a month ago and was sold on the weight of the pair. Definitely lightweight and comfortable. The cushion is good. Wish it had a little bit more arch support. Tested it downhill as it is the most important for me. Unfortunately, the opening is too wide and can only tighten so much and I have skinny legs so my foot slides to the front going downhill. I added insoles and it seems to work fine but it makes the shoe stiffer. I will see how it holds up on a 20 mile hike. Will definitley change the laces. They feel thin. Maybe Merrell should add more eyelets up on top to support the foot more and have that option than not.

Fit a bit small, I'd order a half size bigger, very waterproof and the insoles are very comfortable

My last pair of Merrills were starting to wear out so I bought these as a replacement. I only wear vegan hiking boots and the smallest men's size fits my feet (I normally wear a women's 8 1/2) best. So far these actually seem to be waterproof and are reasonably comfortable. They required no breaking in.

These aren't my first pair of hiking mids, however they're the most uncomfortable from the beginning. To be clear, they're great with my feet; it's the ankles where they're a pain. You have to almost wear multiple layers of long socks just to wear these. I was hoping I could wear any sock, from ankle to mid to high to thick wool socks, but nope - they dig into my ankles, both left and right side, and have actually cut into my ankle to the point the skin had been broken. The rigidness of the ankle support dug into my ankles, and I've worn them around 5 times now, and tried to massage the stiffness out, but they're still not as compliant as the average hiking boot. To add to that, the lacing bars that reside on the boots are less than I'd like - there is only one set/level to support laces, meaning I can't tighten the ankle support anymore than a single level, if that makes sense. Most of my hiking shoes/boots have at least two layers of lacing to tighten up the ankles. I hope these break in more, but I doubt it - more to come, with images, etc.,

The top lace loop is stressed more than the other loops causing it to prematurely break. Don’t buy any pairs that have that top off-set loop.

It's only been 3 months since I ordered these and the sole has a small separation already. Clearly they're not going to last very long and these are not cheap boots. I can say the cushion is fantastic. Never had a more comfortable boot.
