I had a pair of these many years ago when I lived in the Northeast. They were my first choice when I moved back and I wasn't disappointed. They fit, they're warm and most important, they keep my feet dry!

Perfect fit, ties well and is wonderful to walk and hike in!

I bought these boots for my college-student son. He desperately needed warm, quality boots and LL Bean is THAT. We have been hit by a series of storms and I was anxious for him to get those boots. He has to walk or bike everywhere he goes, and we've had SO much snow. The coldest weather in years is arriving presently. Imagine how upset I was when his boots arrived yesterday and were hopelessly large. I followed the sizing recommendation to the letter, but these boots are clownishly large on him. I had to re-order a FULL size down, and they may still be too large. I'm so very sad that he has to wait another several days until his new boots come. And I will have to pay the return shipping and my son will have to trudge to a UPS drop off somewhere. LL Bean needs to fix the sizing issues so customers can get it right the first time and avoid all these inconveniences. It is -16 right now, and my son should be wearing his new boots. Alas

I have worn Bean boots for 40 years and have liked them. I buy because they are American made, even when imports are cheaper. I was disappointed that I could not get the flannel lined in a 10.5 EE width. The boots that come in EE are not as comfortable.

Size was way too big. Easy return policy though. Ordered 2nd pair a half size smaller, still too big! Reordered 3rd pair a full size down. No luck, out of stock, unavailable. Hey...i tried.

The sizing guidelines recommended going down 1/2-size: I normally wear an 11 and so ordered a 10.5--and it's huge. Will most definitely have to exchange but don't live near a store unfortunately :(.

My husband really liked the boots but we had to return them because he had a hard time getting them on. The leather is so stiff that you can't pull the sides apart to slide your foot in and the tongue on the boot should be not attached to the sides. If the tongue was more flexible and move able he could probably be able to slide his foot in easier.

I purchased these boots maybe ten years ago and only wore them about 6 times a year and this year the rubber split wide open. Total junk! Do not waste your money.

It seems i had to return the size 9 for exchange for 8 1/2, it took to weeks for L.L. Bean to tell me they were out of stock, and refunded my money. I just wished L.L. Bean would have gave me an option for another boot. Very disappointed customer.
