Quality of course is exceptional. On the fence about keeping however because the tongue is sewn into the sides of boots making it extremely difficult to slip into the boot with your foot. Wish the tongue was loose. I have the lower cut duckie style in brown that were a touch too small due to not having a 5 and half size. These new boots fit perfect at a 5 and a half size. I'm normally a 6 and a half or seven in shoes and boots.

Gift for my daughter. Description indicated that the boot should be ordered one full size smaller than normal. I got a 7 instead of 8. Boots fit perfectly and she loves them.

I love these boots, perfect for out and about but not being too hot indoors when running errands.

Absolutely love them!!!! Love the quality craftsmanship, the durability of the materials , the style and look, and comfort. I finally found my perfect fit in a 6.5 wide, and wear a normal 7.5 women's shoe. The normal size down was tight across my midfoot, the wide was perfect and gave the right amount of room.

Long a staple in the LL Bean lineup these boots are simply fantastic. They never go out of style and they are durable and comfortable.

I bought this as a gift for my daughter. She's a huge LLB fan and it's an honor to gift her such a quality boot.

I have wanted a pair for decades but always had an excuse why not to buy them. Finally did it and am so glad I did.

I bought these a month ago and didn't have the proper thick sock for them at the time. But now that I do, I wish I would've gotten my normal size. The website tells you to order a full size down. But because you need a thicker sock for this particular boot. I went a half size down and found them to be somewhat tight, but hopefully in time they'll loosen enough. Really nice boot but stick with your normal size and buy a thick sock, that you're gonna need.

It hasn't been cold enough to really use these, but they are comfortable to wear and have enough room for thick socks without being floppy. That said, the recommendation to order a size down is VERY true. I am a full size 12 and ordering the 11 worked perfectly.

My kids got me this boot for Christmas. Though I love the product, you should not have to figure out what size to order. Just label them correctly instead of having to order a full size down, or guess if you are between sizes.

I wanted to really like these, especially since I live in the wet Pacific NW. but the upper part of the boot (top 2") kept rubbing the front of my shin. Maybe the leather will loosen, but I have the sense I will have to wear these a lot befor that happens.

Might return these. Sewing the tongue to the side of the boot is insane. And I really wanted a slightly shorter boot but they aren't made anymore.

The tongue on these boots is very stiff and rubbed up against the front of my leg which was very uncomfortable for me. I returned them and bought the Chelsea version instead- more expensive but so much better as far as comfort goes.

I'm with those who find the tongue, sharply angled into the ankle and stiff, uncomfortable. I love my few years old 6" boots, will now have to ration wear. The tongue isn't sewn into ankle and softened quickly. This design might resist leaks from rain more effectively, but if it hurts to wear it's not an improvement. The footbed is fine. Have returned.

I bought a pair of the 6" Bean Boots two years ago and they have been my 'go to' outside boots. They're comfortable and held up great, but after two years I felt I needed another pair. Unfortunately, the new design has an attached tongue and are very stiff and uncomfortable, so I returned them. So I'd give a 5* for the old design, 1* for the new (posted the average). LL Bean was good about the return, so I appreciate that.

I was excited to finally order these in wide. When I received them, I was disappointed to find very sloppy craftsmanship which is unusual for LL Bean. On nearly every seam ending, there is a sloppily ended thread that seems it was cut away from the boot without anchoring and without any attention to cutting close to the boot or melting the remaining thread. I was even hopeful that it was maybe 1 of the boots and not the other as a fluke, but it was both boots.
